Not if they were never given a key (and their room was occupied with furniture and items owned by the person who had the second key). You can't count it as if she moved in, if you never really allowed her to move in before you kicked her out, so he had to give the money back. I believe she was meant to just be a guest, but because he lied with the whole "I didn't want any money, I just said a random figure when pushed, then I got mad when I got less than the agreed random figure I never wanted in the first place" story, he kinda set himself up for failure. If you accept money for someone to stay at your home, they become a tenant, and we are back to square one. If she was only to pay for groceries while she stayed a little while as a guest, then you broke that agreement when you (rigthfully so) kicked her out, you still have to give the money back. While the judge is only 3 years younger than me, bars, clubs and concerts were the primary places our generation went to socialize and to party. We grew up in the disco age when going out meant bar and club hopping and Happy hours were the thing. It also depends on where you went to college that determined the party scene. The judge went to the University of Miami undergrad and to Georgetown Law school, both cities and colleges with lots of bars. I used to bar hop in my college days and I don't drink. Never have. But I was the de facto designated driver because of that. I am glad I grew up in that generation. We had fun meeting people, dancing and socializing. Fun times.

I’m disappointed at the judge she usually make smart decisions even ask way smarter question but if someone ask to stay with u and the agreement is 360 to stay and u only pay 100 to me she was being slick she just wanted a foot in the door so technically she didn’t for fill the agreement at all why ask for keys cuz u only paid 100 dollars smh

The defendant Kenneth Turner is so lame. He did not have the decency to be clear and upfront, to tell why he did not give her the key and how he felt about all this. He is a manipulator and dishonest, shame on him. The plaintiff is beautiful girl.

Everyone is dumping on her. If he agreed to just accept 100, then gave her no key and had another dude's stuff in her room, he isn't being genuine.
She wasn't jailed, either. She was in the lockup and bailed and said it was a situation not to do with her (who knows the truth).
Clearly he knew about the dog, because he said she didn't let it out to go potty and it was running around the apartment a few days.
I have issues with both of them, but she doesn't seem anywhere near as bad as most comments here suggest, and JM clearly agreed, going by her lectures to the defendant and judgement.
