+Zac Foelster I remember the first time I played I obbeyed him. I left the poster I was way lost... because the guy dissapears and nobody reminds you not to touch the poster... I was checking the trash bins when I happened to touch the poster...
Back in 1999, I remember being stuck forever on the giving water to the Saffron City guard. I went days not figuring it out until I met someone who had finished the game and told me what to do. Not knowing how to search on the Internet back in the day made things much more challenging.
"There was once a legendary Pokémon trainer who couldn't cut down a tree, so he traveled across the world to a faraway reagion to learn how to do it, and came back with the knowledge to order his Pokémon to cut down a tree."
+Ccreyescr in my case i found Sotopolis first but i had a long time find the dive area where Team Aqua took the submarine the first time i palyed Emerald im glad i found the city first cuz after i beat the leader i could just fly to teh 8th gym town rather than the 7th
+Adam - Smasher In Ruby I accidentally came across it and was shocked to find a new Pokemon, Rayquaza at the top. It saddens me that I will never have these experiences again since internet. Then again, the Brail puzzles with the Regis... you need the internet.
I remember the first time playing Yellow version having the same problem not knowing to get Oak's Parcel to get the Pokedex to continue, and in my first time playing Ruby version not knowing to backtrack to Mr. Briney's cottage to get to Dewford after beating the Team Magma grunt in the Rusturf Tunnel, thinking that there had to be some way to get through that odd cave filled with only Whismur; I spent quite a while just trying to figure out how to keep going past Rustboro City before I finally decided to just backtrack, lol.
You're forgotten about how to get sapphire in Fire Red and Leaf Green... Also that fucking cave than reset you to starting point if took wrong path 😅 I hate that kind of cave
Vermilion City's Gym Leader in Pokemon Leaf Green where you have to find two switches in a row from trash cans to open the electric gates. If you were to miss, they would randomly change place...
the guard needing water was the only part i remember being stuck on (i had the games when they first came out so csnt remember much more) lol seeing as whenever i start a new pkmon i always go everywhere and talk to everyone
In Soulsilver version, I was stuck for a year trying to navigate through the Whirl Islands. My Pokémon were so over leveled because I didn't know what to do, so I trained.
Pokemon Diamond after the first gym, I think the second time you'd encounter Team Galactic and they were at the Valley Windworks. One of the guard lost and locked the door and you were supposed to look for the keys.. I didn't know there was like a forest thing behind the Floaroma Town haha.
I remember getting "stuck" at the end of Crystal because I didn't know what to do next. Turns out I had all 16 badges and beaten E4 many times, but I didn't know I could beat Red at Mt. Silver!
For years I never knew you can go to Kanto after beating the champion in Pok'e mon Crystal and it took me tell Soul Silver to learn how to get back to Jhoto.
Playing games in a small foreign country as a kid could be such a pain. No Nintendo games afaik have been translated to danish, so when you're 6 and haven't started english classes, trying to play an RPG is not easy and you get stuck a lot
I got stuck at the beggining of fire red when I first played pokemon. I wasn't able to find Prof. Oak, I searched all those 2 houses and lab multiple times, then I decided to leave the town and found Prof. Oak.
Ah the snorlax segment, it truly was the most frustrating thing in that game. I remember I also got stuck in yellow because i couldnt beat brock with just pikachu XD So i just grinded and by the end of the game my pikachu was several levels higher than all of the others.
Ha ha. When I first played through Pokémon Blue I didn't have the Internet (at least not as a source of help) but I did have a magazine that included a complete guide for the game. I did get stuck, though. Vermilion Gym Puzzle was a pain and I'd get stuck right before the Earthbadge because I didn't have the Thunderbadge. It was such a relief when I finally cracked the puzzle and beat Surge - after I had bet Blaine!
In FireRed/LeafGreen, I chose Charmander for the first two times I played the game, and Misty was a real pain. When I picked Squirtle, it was a bit easier, and with my current walkthrough with Bulbasaur, it was a steamroll.
I remember getting stuck with the Elite 4, since some how during my first play through of red when I was like 6-7 years old, with the game having just come out, not having the guide yet or having access to the internet, I missed Celadon City Gym, so I ended up having 7 gym badges and couldn't find the last one.
When I was a kid (like 4 or 5) I literally could not make it past the first gym in pokemon Yellow. I watched the show, so I thought I had to trigger the sprinklers in the game like Ash did in the show. All I had were a pikachu, butterfree and a pidgey and I literally could not figure out why it wasn't working lol. I'm playing through it now to complete my childhood
In D/P when you couldnt enter Sunyshore yet, because you had to travel to the Spear Pillar. I knew it was located somewhere in Mt Coronet, but didnt exactly know the location to get to it.
Well, in Fire red/leafgreen I got stuck in the Sevii islands in the post game. Theres some cave where you need to use cut on the entrance but I never figured that out.
The think that the two worst times I've ever gotten stuck in a Pokemon game were in Firered where I had the same problem of not being able to find HM Surf. The worst of the two though was In Diamond. After getting the 6th Gym Badge and fighting Team Galactic at Lake Verity and Lake Valor, I knew I had to head towards Snowpoint City to get my 7th Gym Badge and defeat Team Galactic at Lake Acuity. The problem was that I didn't know where to get HM Strength to get through Mt. Coronet! Glad they fixed it in Platinum where you just get in at Iron Island instead of the Lost Tower. The Lost Tower looked like the most side-questy dungeon in the entire game! It's placement was so random...
In Pokemon Diamond, I tried to speed run, and when I got to the seventh gym badge, I didn't know where to go because I just kept on skipping the dialogue. And I did this in one day, so it took me weeks to actually do what I was supposed to do.
In Crystal version I surfed all the way to Whirl Islands and not knowing I needed Flash inside the cave so I still walked in and couldn't see my way back and I left the game for about a year until I came back to it and started fiddling with it until I eventually got out.
1. Rock tunnel didn't know where to find flash and managed to cross the tunnel without it. 2. Brock and misty 3. Snorlax 4. cinnabar island the greatest trouble was reaching Saffron city
I found Hm 3 pretty easily, but for some reason I kept getting lost in seafom island, untill one of my friends used surf in pallet town and got to cinnabar island by just surfing south. i was amazed, and only later got to know how to get deal with seafom island and catching articuno.
I always got stuck on snorlax when I was a kid. I would never touch the poster so I would never get anywhere. I felt kind of dumb though when I finally did touch the poster(forgot what age I was though)
Before I got to lavender town I was told about the marowak ghost in pokemon tower. I thought it was a creepy pasta and as such didn't think it was where I had to go to ultimately get past the snorlax.
as a kid i got stuck in the elite four, a lot with lorelie because my team would always consist of charizard, zapdos, pidgeot, nidoking, joltean, and snorlax. When i was able to defeat her i then struggle with lance, and when i finally beat him i thought i was finished. but then that end twist. So i was never able to officially beat Pokemon red/blue/ yellow because i quite the main story and focus on exploring and catching new pokes. because as a kid you feel like grinding take for ever to with high lvl pokes so i dint even bother.
In Diamond and Pearl, I got stuck in one of the caves near Eterna City. I went deep in and got lost. After 2 years, I thought my Pokemon flash and still couldn't find a way out. Another year passes and I finally got out 😐
the time i got stuck was really early in the game, I was 7-8 years old when it came out and it was my 1st RPG, I was used to side-scrollers and I completely confused the map and thought the roofs on the buildings looked liked stairs, I couldn't climb the stairs and started walking around the map. I turned the game off, when I came back to playing it, I started everything and accidentally walked in the 1st patch of grass and that's when I got hooked up with Pokémon
You know...I don't remember if I ever truly got stuck anywhere; at least in the main-storyline games, aside from a few "talk to everyone to find the right person" moments. Then again, when I first started playing, I had game guides. Oh! I know! Whirlpool Islands! Finding Lugia was the biggest headache EVER, for some reason, even with the guide! Back then guide maps weren't too good, and I didn't yet have the internet.
Here is one for you MetroTechUniverse Pokemon emerald was my first pokemon game too (after pokemon snap that is) and near the end of the game when Kyogre and Groudon are finding each other i was told to look for Rayquaza at Sky Pillar but the game never told me where that was and I was to young to use the internet so i when every where but Sky Pillar eventually i gave up. About 6-7 year later in my last year of high school a friend had the game emulated on his phone so in the middle of class i played the entire game again with no help from outside sources and when that part happened again i ask my friend and he showed me where is was I must have swam pasted it like 5 -8 times. One of my best story of pokemon. Hope you enjoyed it.
The part I got stuck with was mount moon when I played those games I was really little so I would get to mount moon get half way through and restart the game and choose a new starter
Worst time I got stuck in Pokemon was in Gold, I didn't know how to find the missing part for the power plant and never ever progressed from there on, same story with my sister who had Silver, my brother managed to get past it as he had some friends at school who knew what to do, but even then he wasn't able to help us as his friends did it for him so he didn't know what to do himself
I got stuck in the silph co puzzle i did not know how to get the card key in firered. After lot of times actually by mistake i found the item which is the card key. Then i got in easily at the third floor and advanced.
I like to say the card key in silph co was the hardest for me. Longest time I didnt think to step back in and walk down to get the key.. LOL everything else was easy to me
In Pokémon black idk maybe 2 or just black there was a specific device you needed to move a few Pokémon I was stumped for days I would travel to every location possible up to that point and I actually found HM's and items while searching it took zoo long but I made it I may update this to give more specific details .
I started playing pokemon in kindergarden, when i couldn't even read, also English is my second launguage. My friends and i had trouble with the cave where you should use flash, we called it "the dark cave"
Well take this, when I started playing Pokemon (and that was gen 1) I couldn't even read English, so everything was practically like getting stuck to me! lol.. it was a lot of fun though
When i was young i got stuck in sapphire, i was just about to catch kyogre but the old man was standing in my way, judt like in kanto with mewtwo. Yes, it happened twice for me :/
Pokémon Diamond, I had 2 issues with Oreburgh city when I was really young, I'm not from an English-speaking country so young me didn't know English, so the game was super hard, because of that I couldn't find the first gym leader and didn't know what I was doing so I just trained and trained so I was overleveled, after I finally found him after a few days, I got the gym badge and was like: where to go now? I couldn't go up the downhill bike road thingy and I didn't consider travelling back through the cave, so my pokemon were SO overleveled that my chimchar evolved into a monferno! for a few days I didn't know what to do, so I left the game alone until a few years later when I learned a little bit of English, when I got back to it and could move on
I was 7 when I got diamond, and I didn't know that I had to go to the top of mt.coronet and fight the legendary in order to go to sunnyvale(or whatever the 8th gym badge city is called) so I spent weeks trying to surf around the guy blocking my way. Also as a kid I thought you could go to other regions in platinum so I tried surfing out of sinnoh XD
Aww that sucks that you even started a new game to figure out what could have went wrong. Watching this made me realise how hard the original games actually were when you had nobody to show you what to do. Back then everyone was playing it, so the kids taught each other. I basically learned everything from my brother too lol. That was like 15 years ago or so XD
The braille door on pokemon FRLG -_-, I caught all the unowns and helped loreli out on her island and even caught most of the johto pokemon, so just kept doing new game.
there was this pokemon gba hack called snakewood and at one point i got stuck in a cave base like setting and since i had no internet access and got frustrated i deleted it. another time was another hack where Magcargo was the god of all Pokémon and it always killed you with one move.
I could never get Snorlax to move in Crystal i beat the elite 4 about 79 times (more or less) not knowing to check Misty's gym for the stolen part at the power plant. After more than 10 years i finally get past it thanks to emulators.
The thing that make me stuck is actually part how to get sapphire in Leaf Green... It's never been completed until I'm reading it's walkthrough (even though not have any problem to reach Elite Four for first time from pallet through final) 😅
I think oak tells you about the package in the remakes but no sure on the originals. Probably why I didn't get stuck though since I I went to the mart first. Surprisingly every other pokemon game I didn't get stuck (except at a few elite four) just the first ones; why? Well I started my journey with a pikachu... *cough* yeah. Good job I bought the manual (which was after the chaos of the rocket hideout) I still have today; since yellow is VERY different to the others. :p
"Where I met this suspicious rocket grunt telling me not to touch the poster, so I did" I laughed so hard at this
+Zac Foelster XD
I thought I was the only one xD
+Zac Foelster I remember the first time I played I obbeyed him. I left the poster I was way lost... because the guy dissapears and nobody reminds you not to touch the poster... I was checking the trash bins when I happened to touch the poster...
+arol veloso I spend 80h or so to find this poster again. I had 100 hours befor i got the 4th badge
PervertDuck so true... I remember I point in which I thought the purpose of the game was simply wondering around...
In gold and silver with the sudowoodo tree when I needed the squirtle bottle and I had no idea where to find it.
Back in 1999, I remember being stuck forever on the giving water to the Saffron City guard. I went days not figuring it out until I met someone who had finished the game and told me what to do. Not knowing how to search on the Internet back in the day made things much more challenging.
I thought the card key would be the number one hardest thing to get
when young metrotech universe dont trust you
lmao
+TheJoseluisperez1000 oh shit even the nerd got that reference loool
Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, just talking to clowns to go to the next city who is the first gym leader you face.
+Double Helix :D
it took me weeks to find that out
Tbh, as a kid, I was never able to finish a Pokémon game without a guide book. I probably would have problems even today.>.
"There was once a legendary Pokémon trainer who couldn't cut down a tree, so he traveled across the world to a faraway reagion to learn how to do it, and came back with the knowledge to order his Pokémon to cut down a tree."
the stolen machine part in mistys gym in G/S/C, how the hell is anyone suppose to find that?!?!
1.I couldn't find Sotopolis City in Emerald.
2.Whitney didn't give me her badge after defeating her in Heartgold.
+Ccreyescr in my case i found Sotopolis first but i had a long time find the dive area where Team Aqua took the submarine the first time i palyed Emerald
im glad i found the city first cuz after i beat the leader i could just fly to teh 8th gym town rather than the 7th
Going through Giratina's cave was a pain in the ass
The guard needing the drink is what stopped me for the longest lol
I couldn't find Sky Pillar in Pokemon Emerald.
+Adam - Smasher same here
+Adam - Smasher In Ruby I accidentally came across it and was shocked to find a new Pokemon, Rayquaza at the top.
The burned down mansion and Mewtwo's cave. Both of those places gave me a headache.
You're forgotten about how to get sapphire in Fire Red and Leaf Green... Also that fucking cave than reset you to starting point if took wrong path 😅
I hate that kind of cave
Vermilion City's Gym Leader in Pokemon Leaf Green where you have to find two switches in a row from trash cans to open the electric gates. If you were to miss, they would randomly change place...
I deleted my save file cause I thought dark cave was glitched cause I couldn't see a thing
DAMN METRO BACK AT IT WITH ANOTHER VIDEO
Wait.. you put down Pokemon Blue for how ever many years until you had Emerald and figured out what to do!?
Maybe you didn't saw his memory video, but his Blue game was rented from his cousin, and it was at the time of generation 3 :)
Malthe Hartz Haha ooh! Okay XD
Glad that another videos up!
the guard needing water was the only part i remember being stuck on (i had the games when they first came out so csnt remember much more) lol seeing as whenever i start a new pkmon i always go everywhere and talk to everyone
The fucking sudowoodo In gold and silver
Hehe this video made me luagh internally, thanks for the comedy :) It's funny getting stuck in hindsight
Gambling all my money for porygon...Don't do it!?
I remember getting "stuck" at the end of Crystal because I didn't know what to do next.
Turns out I had all 16 badges and beaten E4 many times, but I didn't know I could beat Red at Mt. Silver!
Nice to know I wasn't alone in all of these. I still haven't beaten the game because of Surf (which I just got yesterday I might add).
I got stuck on how to get past snorlax in heart gold since the poke flute wasn't an actual radio station
A bit off topic, but heart gold is one of if not my top favorite Pokemon game
For years I never knew you can go to Kanto after beating the champion in Pok'e mon Crystal and it took me tell Soul Silver to learn how to get back to Jhoto.
Dotted Hole in Firered, had no clue the cut the door because braile
I never get lost in a Pokémon games because if I have to search for more than 5 minutes I go check for the solution on the internet XD
Mahogany Town...Mahogany Town...Mahogany Town...Mahogany Town...MAHOGANY TOWN!!!
Playing games in a small foreign country as a kid could be such a pain. No Nintendo games afaik have been translated to danish, so when you're 6 and haven't started english classes, trying to play an RPG is not easy and you get stuck a lot
I was stuck for the longest time in firered's post-game because I didn't know that I needed to use cut in front of the dotted hole
All 5 of these are definitely relate-able xD
I got stuck at the beggining of fire red when I first played pokemon. I wasn't able to find Prof. Oak, I searched all those 2 houses and lab multiple times, then I decided to leave the town and found Prof. Oak.
This brings back so many memories

I watched the show, so I thought I had to trigger the sprinklers in the game like Ash did in the show. All I had were a pikachu, butterfree and a pidgey and I literally could not figure out why it wasn't working lol. I'm playing through it now to complete my childhood
Imagine playing this in English as a kid, when you don't speak English.
it went pretty well for me haha :p
In D/P when you couldnt enter Sunyshore yet, because you had to travel to the Spear Pillar. I knew it was located somewhere in Mt Coronet, but didnt exactly know the location to get to it.
Well, in Fire red/leafgreen I got stuck in the Sevii islands in the post game. Theres some cave where you need to use cut on the entrance but I never figured that out.

2. Brock and misty
3. Snorlax
4. cinnabar island
the greatest trouble was reaching Saffron city
I found Hm 3 pretty easily, but for some reason I kept getting lost in seafom island, untill one of my friends used surf in pallet town and got to cinnabar island by just surfing south. i was amazed, and only later got to know how to get deal with seafom island and catching articuno.
When I first got Pokemon Sapphire I was stuck in Slateport city for hours because I did not realize you could walk underneath the cycling road.
Viridian Forest, I read the last sign "you leave the Viridian Forest" or something like that, so I turned around and return at the entrance...
I always got stuck on snorlax when I was a kid. I would never touch the poster so I would never get anywhere. I felt kind of dumb though when I finally did touch the poster(forgot what age I was though)
Before I got to lavender town I was told about the marowak ghost in pokemon tower. I thought it was a creepy pasta and as such didn't think it was where I had to go to ultimately get past the snorlax.

in pokemon saphire when you're supposed to find the entrance to sotopolis under water. but they never say exactly where it is.
I remember getting stuck at the Snorlax near Fuchsia so I gave up and asked if I could by a copy of Emerald.
when my fire red save file got removed and i started all the way back in the deepest point of mt. moon
the time i got stuck was really early in the game, I was 7-8 years old when it came out and it was my 1st RPG, I was used to side-scrollers and I completely confused the map and thought the roofs on the buildings looked liked stairs, I couldn't climb the stairs and started walking around the map. In Heartgold & Soulsliver like number 3 I thought fresh water for the guards, but no you get Tea from old lady to give to guards.
in gold/silver, they made the the HM mechanic much easier. u just simply press a in front of the trees to cut it
The part I got stuck with was mount moon when I played those games I was really little so I would get to mount moon get half way through and restart the game and choose a new starter
For me, in chronological order.
1. Oak's Parcel
2. Tm28 burglary in Cerulean City
3. Rock Tunnel
4. Snorlax
5. Hm03
I was 7 lol
I got stuck in the silph co puzzle i did not know how to get the card key in firered. After lot of times actually by mistake i found the item which is the card key. Then i got in easily at the third floor and advanced.
Victory road that requires flash...
I'm the only person in the world who didn't encounter the guy drunk on the floor, I actually took the package to oak with no past experience
yes...
yes you are
Brock in Yellow when I attempted a starter only run...
I like to say the card key in silph co was the hardest for me. Longest time I didnt think to step back in and walk down to get the key.. LOL everything else was easy to me

In Pokémon Gold I didn't know you were supposed to talk to Whitney again for the gym badge so I was stuck in Goldenrod City for years...
Wayward Cave in gen 4, I was lost in there for literally 3 months because I didn't have flash.
In sapphire for the longest time I had 7 badges and had no idea what to do next or where to go.
Well take this, when I started playing Pokemon (and that was gen 1) I couldn't even read English, so everything was practically like getting stuck to me! lol.. it was a lot of fun though
The first place I got stuck was mt moon, when I was 9 years old. Then rock tunnel was a huge challenge too
Started White 2 with Snivy... I don't even know how I defeated the poison type gym.
she was hard as balls, just like whitney and misty at my first encounters. dang those girls has lv and power
When i was young i got stuck in sapphire, i was just about to catch kyogre but the old man was standing in my way, judt like in kanto with mewtwo. Yes, it happened twice for me :/
Pokemon was mad hard smh. Good thing my brother taught me about his red and blue before yellow version (my first pkmn game) released in America lol
You know when you're supposed to meet the 3 clowns in Platinum I got stuck there and I OPied all my pokemons to lvl 40 or something.
i got stuck in the part of the poster because i played fire red in japanese, so i couldnt read him saying not to touch the poster
STOP! I'm a Snorlax and i'm blocking the path to the comments!
I got stuck at the end of the Viridian Forest because I didn't know that there was an exit there.
The braille door on pokemon FRLG -_-, I caught all the unowns and helped loreli out on her island and even caught most of the johto pokemon, so just kept doing new game.
lol same here man
I got stuck in the cave where you need to use flash I already got flash I just did not know how to use it.
there was this pokemon gba hack called snakewood and at one point i got stuck in a cave base like setting and since i had no internet access and got frustrated i deleted it. another time was another hack where Magcargo was the god of all Pokémon and it always killed you with one move.
i don't remember which hack it was though
I could never get Snorlax to move in Crystal i beat the elite 4 about 79 times (more or less) not knowing to check Misty's gym for the stolen part at the power plant. After more than 10 years i finally get past it thanks to emulators.
I got stuck in Ruby twice. The Regi trio and getting to the last gym.
whitney's miltank, only had a quilava as a trained pokemon
# 3 is wrong an old lady gives you the drink to share with the guards.
snorlax is probably what makes me cheat lol
