If the comments are now called notes, then why does it still say comments(new comment,show comments) in the ribbon?

The old 'comments' are now called 'notes'. Now 'comments' are the threaded ones that can be displayed in the sidebar and is what is shown in the ribbon. The precedent-style comments haven't been removed, just re-named.
