  • ➡️ Our new Lenire review video for 2024: • Can This FDA-Approved ...
    One of the newest research developments in tinnitus treatment is bi-modal stimulation. The Lenire device for tinnitus neuromodulation was created by Neuromod. Other research from Susan Shore looks promising. This technology is not a cure for tinnitus, but it gives us another tool to improve it. Hubert Lim is a PhD researcher who joins us for a discussion about tinnitus treatment.

    Great Episode as always. I like when Dr. Thompson says he asks new patients about insomnia. I think this could be the primary factor in my mild tinnitus. Throughout this whole pandemic and a little bit even before I don't sleep well. Typically I wake up after 4 to 4 1/2 hours of sleep usually only lightly falling back to sleep intermittently. This goes on day after day. Sometimes I get short cat naps waiting in between calls in the limo. I have normal very mild low frequency hearing loss typical for my age. No hearing aids required. My Dad is 97 and has no hearing loss or at least I know he wears no hearing aids.

I suffered an injury with 3.5 minutes of exposure to sound at about 110 db. That was 8 weeks ago. Now I have high pitch tinnitus mostly in my right ear. It honestly sounds like he's trying to explain his way out of producing legit clinical study data by muddying the waters of what can/can't be measured. I really hope this product works but let's stop playing games like this...
    I agree re the personal optimization - its funny because he was already doing this in his lab and in joining Lenire *regressed* to a generalized approach.

      The title of this video is misleading. Hubert Lim is listed as Chief Science Officer for Lenire. It's not much of a review if the person works for the company. I'm not saying the guy isn't trying to do good work but be upfront about things like this.

    • @qyhh
      @qyhh 2 года назад +5

      @@georgec6422 Totally agreed! This should have been mentionned right off the bat. This doesn't make me want to watch the video. (even though I already went to Neuromod for an appointment in early 2020, so I was interested.)
      I randomly watched 15 minutes of one of his livestream on youtube, and I legit asked about neuromodulation, he said "it was a hot topic in 2015, but the searches didn't really continue much due to not-so-great results", or something along those lines. So yeah, this really doesn't make me wanna listen to the video, even though it might be good, idk.

    A lot of great work...but far too many are working on developing tinnitus remedies. As I understand the research, their tinnitus is reduced by a small shock before an audio pulse in those with damaged auditory systems. For those without damage, the shock occurs AFTER the audio tone. I developed my own bimodal stimulation device, and have been using it for 3 years, with mixed results. My left ear ringing is virtually gone, but my right ear is still an issue. I think I recall one researcher saying that treating one side causes positive effects on the other side... but it didn't with me. I will say that bimodal stimulation has significantly improved my life.

    Thank you Dr. Lim and Dr. Ben. Now I understand the concept of this device. I am curious about the discussion about having to generalize the device. Does this mean necessarily there is some effectiveness lost because it has to be a device that could help a large population, versus a device that would only help a few people? Or are you helping more people at the expense of a few? Do I understand that correctly?

    • @treblehealth
      @treblehealth  8 месяцев назад

      Hi! Lenire is customized per person based on their hearing test. This device is not "one size fits all" and it does have to be programmed and dispensed by an Audiologist. We hope the long term benefits of this treatment can be used to help a very large population, not leaving anyone behind. Hope this helps to answer your question!

    Great channel Ben, I just discovered it. I've had loud high pitched tinnitus and hyperacusis for about 9 years now. Both came with a sudden onset. I just woke up one morning with both T & H. Hearing tests came out normal according to age etc. No injury. I've always wondered why urinating affects my T levels, perhaps it has an affect on some pressure somewhere. Hard to say. Another thing that reduces symptoms is alcohol. That's pretty much all that really works. Urination and alcohol. What a weird combo. Anyways, thanks for sharing knowledge and content on tinnitus. My personal take is that neurology will find the answer to this. It's brain damage.

My personal take on this is that it's brain damage. I hope science will focus on the neurology in this. I don't see that the ear is connected to either T or H. This is a wonderful video. One concern, if we make certain frequencies more strong as a way to ignore the Tinnitus frequencies, what if those eventually become the Tinnitus sound, and now theyre strong. For those of us with Hyperacusis, I don't think we particularly want ANY sounds to be amplified. Are all the bimodal models doing this? Amplifying "other" frequencies?

    • @SSRUNNER0

      Apparently Susan shores work attempts to shut down the actual cells causing tinnitus. If I remember correctly they are generated in the dorsal cochlear nucleus.

    I have Tinnitus and let me tell you it can be pretty difficult task to completely cure it because tinnitus could be due to a lot of unknown underlying factors… but generalizing the possible cure: you have to actually work at neuron level but understanding brain is very very difficult. You have to give some injections which stop the hyperactivity/electric activity or possible blood clots or dead cells in the brain…
