Yeah... real "expert". I like the way you used so much engine oil on the head stud threads... so that it leaked into the coolant cavity!. So now you have oil in the cooling system. Very unprofessional. Also... you didn't even show the viewers how to properly install a bearing so as to not damage it.
I’m debating buying the motor from an 07 r6 for $350 but from what he said it needs a full rebuild and didn’t say why but in the last video you pretty much named all the things to look for and I found it very helpful. I rebuild a few sbf motors but from what I’ve seen these are just as easy to work on.
Hopefully you can rebuild a complete engine such in electrical(starting system, charging system, cooling system) for honda cbr400rr nc23 or nc29 as for your next job, thank you so much in advance
Definitely think it would be cool to see even a few minutes of the engine running and talking through first time start up, break in, first oil change, etc
Are you guys ever going to do a rebuild on a crossplane Yamaha R1 09-14 ? Nobody has made a detailed video like you guys did with the R6 which is super cool.
Y’all need way more subscribers john! Awesome work. I have the engine pulled from my 07 r6 and would love to have it rebuilt like the. Where is partzilla located ??
The O-rings you're placing on the Nozzles "5EB-15155-00-00" are they OEM and are the OEM material Fluorocarbon (Viton)? If someone does not have access to OEM Viton O-rings would be best for that application in my opinion, what are your thoughts? Excellent tutelage on an complex engine rebuild you've demystified many topics in this video. Thank you.
This is amazing. Have a question what is the process of the pulse ignition generator cover is stuck on a 1998 and has never been replaced or removed? Three clutch cover bolts were over tightened previous owner and put holes in the crankcase. What would you recommend for this? JB weld?
So this engine was nicasil plated by the machine shop that bored it? I have seen a plasma metal spray buildup on a bearing fit on a shaft. I'd be very interested in watching that process.
Gracias
Why didn’t you cool the bearings down? Or heat up the block? I’ve always learnt that you destroy the bearing by hitting them in this way.. I could be wrong, it’s not to put you down. You’re doing a amazing job😉
Or.....do both.....heat and cool. The actual process for setting the bearings is OK.....I have done it thousand times.. Real trick is how to remove the shift shaft needle bearings. Yamaha set them in blind holes with no way to "punch them out." I have modified 2 of these R6 cases to allow a punch in there. Yamaha manuals suck....I have an 87 FJ1200 that is a beast with just under 160 RWHP and I can tell you from experience. F'ing Yamaha.....the king of nightmares.😉😆

Hi sir, i got a question about engine rebuild cause i got no idea. How do i know when i need a rebuild??? I got 2007cbr1000rr and its got 32,000km when i purchase it 😁😊
Blowing smoke, loss of oil, loss of power, rattling...there are many subtle hints, but if you have a problem that requires you going into the bottom end to fix it, then it's time to rebuild.
A basic rebuild to the extent done in this video and dyno tuned from our shop would be in the 3 to 4k range. Our pro stock drag bike engines start at 14k and up.
Hi guys. I need to rebuild My 2006 Yamaha FZ6 Engine and Transmission. Do you guys know where I can buy everything? I need and would like Aftermarket Over Size Oil Pump, Water Pump. Pistons, crank, cams, every single sensor for all pressure stuff and what not. Also, all of the gears for my gear box. And all pressure wires and sensors, and what not. So pretty much a FULLY REBUILD kit for both my Engine and Transmission. Haha..
You can get all the OEM parts from Partzilla.com. Aftermarket is going to vary depending on the part. Aftermarket companies have different specialties. It will take a good amount of research. It's going to be a heck of a project!
However, just one mistake can spell doom. That is why i have always read a lot of articles in magazines and now watch engine building videos online. It's cool because many times you learn effective performance strategies so you learn how to "build" a hot engine and hopefully have learned assembly procedures from this and other videos and literature.
hi guys i am rebuilding my cbr1000rr 2008 bottom end with a damaged connecting rod but the issue is i need to replace the connecting but there is a number written on my connecting rod B2 CAN I REPLACE WITH A2 CONNECTING ROD
No, they are labeled so they match the crank. Letters are the inner diameter of the rod and numbers are the outer diameter of the crank. Then colors for the bearings. There should be a code on the outside of the crank pin showing the sequence.
Of course this is for basic rebuilds on stock components. With our race engines where every part is lightened , matched and machined all those letters , numbers , and colors don’t mean shit. This is when you need the proper measuring tools to check clearances.
Normally, unless you get a new tach, you would note what mileage the engine was rebuilt. Then you have documentation on how many miles are on the chassis and how many miles are on the new motor.
The 2008-2018 R6 motors are very strong and last a very long time. Looks can be deceiving. And remember you're not gonna get much more than 135 WHP out of these anyways. Out of all the bikes I crashed at the race tracks, the R6 is the toughest when it comes to limiting damage during a crash. Only the forks are the weak link and tend to bend during a serious crash.
D. C And why would you say that?? You don't think Yamaha thoroughly tested this design out before putting it into production?! Im sure Yamaha know better than you buddy.
