Rebuilding a 2008 CBR 1000 RR engine is no small task. This video took us 6 days to just film it and WAY longer if you factor in how long we had to wait for parts. This is the timelapse version. Full video of Brian building this engine back together is coming soon!

This man is highly professional. I love how he torques everything to spec versus doing what most mechanics typically do. Good job!
If you dont see someone using a torque wrench on an engine build, stay far away from him!
@@TheWorldisTemporary that's a fact
I thought I saw a red bucket full of what I can only assume to be engine oil next to him, and I recall seeing him dip parts and his finger in it @anonanon7235
@mohlomphehi he also is/was a master/head tech at a dealership. I wouldn't expect anything else from him. I went to school to be a motorcycle tech, and I can safely say that once you do it the right way so many times, it genuinely hurts your soul to do it wrong. And atleast at the school I went to, it gets drilled into your head that taking the time to work on things right A) makes whatever it is more reliable which results with B) you making more money cuz customers aren't coming back and you're not wasting time making repairs on your own work for free.
I loved the way he checked to see what order to tighten bolts up, others I have watched have just tightened whatever whenever. Coming from someone that had a car with a k-series engine I can appreciate this blokes artistry.
This is so fun to watch! You can tell Brian is in his element.
OC. I usually watch more first rides in the live shows than anything else. Brian makes it look so easy to put a motor back together. Love the channel as always.
It is a easy as Legos with the service manual
OC: Always awesome to see a true master at work. Brian is the best.
Amazing video! Loved watching him put the engine together, thanks for sharing!
Knowing that Big B put that together ='s comfort and confidence. Well done!
I was surprised by his work, and the way he performs it, I was surprised that he is a very very responsible person and that he is a very good mechanic, blessings.
thx for sharing, gonna miss my 2011 SC59. one of the best thing of my life
This guy is AWESOME!!!! I learned A LOT from watching multiple videos. Thanks! 👍🏾
Cool video can’t wait for the builds to continue
Awesome video and awesome content can’t wait for the next video Thanks
2:24 I see what you did with the edit there and I appreciate you for that. 😎👍
I have a 2000 CBR 929 with 77k on it. Excellent bike and i love it, but it has developed oil leaks, cracks in the fairings and needs a paint job. I have some cool mods in mind as well. Cool video, i haven't been inside a sport bike engine yet. 🏆
Really enjoyed this
That was great - gonna enjoy the long version too…..
Really happy to see another addition to the WBRG! I love this series so much.. Please keep it up
Daayyymmmnn, such a motivational video with energising music...
Amazing work!
I wonder if he had all the parts on hand if it would've taken about 3-4 days instead of 6. That's pretty awesome when you can rebuild an engine from scratch without help ✌🙏👏👏
Well done👍🏽 and the beats is nice👍🏽
Brilliant. Loved it!
Excellent job,, clean and professional 👏,, greetings.
This was therapeutic 😍
Really enjoyed the video......lkn forward to becoming a better mechanic like you.. thanks alot.
Great video. Had to stop what I was doing to watch. You can tell this is not his first engine build!
I know right 🤣
This looks sooo good that guy is just 💪🏽👍🏼
this was like art to watch
Beautiful!!!
That was great! Thanks.
Why was the old damaged outer casing (clutch side) used?
What was the solution used to clean all the casings? Great job, he makes it look extremely easy.
amazing profi work
This video is so satisfying.
This is an art!
Great work
What range is your torque ratchet in Nm? You almost did the whole engine rebuild with it .It does the job obviously. Thanks cheers.Ride safe, golden hands you have got bro !
This was beautiful to watch. I so wish i could be a mechanic and work on these engines
It's a long road buddy, sooner you start sooner you will get there
Nice work.
Good work 👍
He's no mechanic, he's an artist 🤟
Man just having a good torque wrench with this is a must
Super video, love it. You are great enginner.
Amazing !!
Watching this and I can hear that snap-on torque wrench in my head... BEEEEP......BEEEEP......BEEEEP......BEEEEP...
Good job men
you are pro,nice job
EXCELLENT JOB
PROFESSIONAL SUPER
Ive always been curious, where do you get the torque settings for all the bolts. Do the manufacturers provide any documentation for this?
Very nice!
100% Respect
Love this 👍
Nice bro.
Awesome!
Whoa, if I had my bike/engine pulled apart like this.. I'd be like screw it..time to buy a new bike! 🏍️
Love it ❤️
Where are all the shoos/people that do that for a living 🤯🤯🤯 OMG
I just want my engine rebuilt
Saludos desde Colombia ,exelente video
but the stator cover.......is it being replaced? A week to rebuild (looks awesome Brian) but a major visible engine cover still looks like its been slid down the road.
Well done nice 👍
did part of the engine had to be shipped to a machinist ?? (it was mentioned in a previews video when taking apart the engine.... piston case or some tight component that probably needed to be taking out by a special machine or technique and re-installed, if i'm not mistaken)
Thoughts on a cbr1000 engine in a 90's nighthawk 750 frame? I have the nighthawk and if my engine ever goes i want to do that
Love that torque wrench.
Good job ... do u use any manual for using the torque to tight the nut ?
Parabéns cara, muito bom.
Brings back the nostalgia of building engines. Can't wait to hear that baby purr! 😍
What do you use for parts washing solution? Great video!
Hello I have a Fireblade from 2005 has some noise at the clutch cover I think is the chain tensioner and it kinda eat oil like 200ml x 1000km could I have bad pistons ring? Local mechanics say it's normal for a Honda but I doubt it 🤷🏼♂️ thx in advance if you are going to answer hopefully you will 😅
tell me about getting parts for old bike. try something from the 90's or 80's . i got a 2006 triumph 600 TT . not that hard to get running .
Uma obra de arte ✊💪🇮🇲🇧🇷
Perfeito!
Parabéns.
Why did you push the pistons in from the bottom with no ring compressor. I was taught to soak the ring lands in oil squeeze it, drop from the top. Just asking is all
This tickled at all the right spots…
beau did a really good linking the music with the cuts
Torqued to Spec!
Beautiful but is there no valve springs in these engines
awesome
Finally, something that is not R7 review :D
good morning I hope you all are well I want to ask a question I have a 2016 Honda cbr 1000rr and when idling the exhaust is red?
This guy is a gangster
I didn't see you line up the balance shaft with the crankshaft, is is really a difference?
Music sounds like a squirrel getting railed…I watched it with the volume muted
How much miles you need to drive with low rpm's after the rebuild?
Is using gasket maker on the block a normal thing to do for motorcycle engines?
Thanks!,,,
How much would you charge for rebuild engine for 14 cbr 1000rr? The bike has 20k miles on it. I’m looking to restart them miles
What is the average cost to do this. I’m looking to have someone do my 2003 R1 motor?
Notification squad! Ha!
Just curious and wanting to know why he used gasket paste or silicone paste im guessing ? Instead of a proper gasket piece on certain parts not critiqueing.
Hi
On the cbr 1000 stator are the suppose to be oil? Or is it a main seal leak? I own cbr 1000 rr fireblade & bike is jurky on low end battery drains after 3 min of cooling fan on the battery is fine & testet stator its droping to 0v & back to 12v & casing for stator full of oil is that normal or main seal?
Nice💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Does Brian know the torque specs by memory?
Shouldn’t he with all the years of experience?
I’m sure his laptop had the specs up…
You know the ballpark with time, but if you don't do the same engine every time, you'll basically always look them up.. The threads a n aluminum are relatively weak
sir where do you get the torque specs for the bolts ?? you know the manuals??
Was their any wear on the gearbox at all?
Great
Which valve cover gasket sealant did you use please ?
Cool clip. Was lookin foreword to the process tho lol
Full video is coming out next week. It's an hour long.
@@chaseontwowheels thank you for the response
@@chaseontwowheels wow! An hour?
Do you all rebuild motors for people?
What bond are you using for the bottom end?
How much does something like that cost to have done?
Hi there! What is the paste you use to seal those parts 5:18? I want to rebuild my xj600s
