Song: La Demande en Mariage (The Marrige Proposal)
Please understand that I am not fluent in French, so these subtitles are not perfect. I created these videos for other people who don't speak French to get a basic idea of the plot. If you're fluent in French and think that I'm completely off the mark with the subtitles, let me know, and I might redo the video. But please understand that I did the best I could.
Also, I only subtitled the songs, and not the dialogue, because a lot of it was hard to catch. Again, sorry.
But I hope more English speakers will become interested in this great musical by learning more details about the plot. Again, please don't assume this is a perfect translation (the French lyrics are simply better on their own) , but I put a lot of work into these videos, and I hope people will like them. Развлечения
XD I love Tybalt in the background. He's all like "D< Who's this guy who's trying to steal my Juliet?"
One thing I love about Cecilia's performance is her ability to act, she was like"Uhhh... what? " when she saw Paris.
Tybalt's expressions 😂😂
Translation for the dialogue
Mrs Capulet,
My dear Paris,
always so charming,
oh thank you,
Mr the earl,
Mr paris,
This is some flowers for Juliet,
this is nice of you,
My initial reaction to Paris was what an airhead! I couldn't stop laughing when Tybalt made that expression that said: Are you kidding me?! during the whole song about Mr vain and shallow wanting to marry Juliet.
Not gonna lie, it's the exact reason I like that particular song 😂
He seems like a decent guy, though. I would rather say he's confident.
Awwww, Juliet looks so innocent.
I like the costume of Paris
Je pense que le travail musical est beau et en fait je l'ai fait à l'école en chantant tout
Great job Paris and Lord Capulet.
Jolie mélodie.
Presgurvic est un romantique
Tybalt
D:
Tybalt is like: "Seriously? THIS IS THE MAN you want her to marry?!"
Tybalt was crushing on Juliet but he saw some guy wanting to take her from him, but aren’t they like cousins?
Sweet Home Alabama…
In that time period it probably was considered “normal” and also he said during one of his songs he would never tell her that he loves her or act upon the actions.
J'adore.
Mistake at 1:07 s
the good translation is: that your love is that heavy (serious)
It goes like this
Dear friend, I am surprised that your love is that serious.
It's a big mistake... Watch the rest of the vidéo for the subtitles.
In french they go like this:
Cher ami, je suis surpris
Que votre amour soit aussi
Lourde erreur prendre un cœur
and the word lourde has to be taken in consideration for both sentence.(for the love and the mistake)
My reaction to Paris in both this version and the Viennese version: "You've got to be kidding me" :I
@leo02000
Wait he's cute
@slapbante In french it's "Que votre amour soit aussi lourd d'erreurs de prendre un coeur avant son heure" not "Que votre amour soit aussi lourde erreur de prendre un coeur avant son heure"
So Paris is 30 Juliet is 16, yeah seems about right...
Juliet was 13, Romeo was 15 in original play😊
At 0:51 it looks like she's signing something. Does anyone know if she is and if so, what is she signing????
Yes wondering the same!
to watch this afeter Juliet's death...
❤❤
It all just too courtly!! There's nothing wrong with Paris which is why he's pretty much impossible to love!!!
What do you mean?
I mean....he's charming and courtly but there's nothing that sincere about him. He talks too much and he's a little too old for her. Romeo we know isn't perfect, he's the good part of passionate and the bad part of passionate. Paris has no passion at all. He's a nice guy, but he's not for her.
Juliette pas juliete
