Nothing can beat the night elf starting zone. Teldrassil was the reason I stuck with WoW. If I had started as a dwarf or gnome, I'd probably be a successful member of society as of today.
I did NE at first because I just liked them in WC3 but then then played both factions... though if I had to choose... Horde and undead are my fav next to tauren
I love the music and atmosphere too. Thing is that Night elves should never be an alliance race but their own separate faction, same as Forsaken. It just never made sense how both got forced into Horde and Alliance respectively when they had either nothing to do with the factions(Forsaken) or were openly neutral/friendly towards both Horde and human expedition led by Jaina after Hyjal(Night elves). As Warcraft III fan first it always bugged me and then as expansions went on annoyed me as they happily ruined the story starting on with Cataclysm with some rough patches in Vanilla and TBC. Things born or laziness or hurry got canonized adding to the later mess WoW brough upon the story.
Human starting zones are by far the best ones You can clearly see, how Elwynn, Westfall, Redridge and Duskwood are just made different in terms of quests

In wotlk retail, very few had x2 good / bis trinkets and since most of pvpers came from Tbc, They were and remained undead. You can enjoy human racial at its best only on a dead endgame private server where You can donate for gear, like Warmane...

@@naquan59 Maybe they will roll human, but still even very few of them for example warriors will be: top pvp skilled AND at the same time be in a good pve guild to roll pve leather armor / agility 25 hc items, farm smourne and gain x2 bis items. This is why, dwarf / nelf / undead / belf / orc racials will still be viable and more useful than human racial which becomes op only when you have EASY access to end game gear.
My journey in WoW started as a rebellious Horde, loving the fancy ways of its habits. Being young and wild, annoying the brave and nerdy boring alliance players. I sneaked my way into their land, murdered their civilians and adventures and hid in the barn rooftop from the royal guards and elite veterans of Stormwind. I learned the hard way and became stronger over the years. Eventually i butchered my way through the high ranks of the Horde dominating the battlegrounds and gates of Orgrimmar. It is there where i lastly found Alliance players that liked to do both, being calm but chaotic as well. After many bloody battles against them i decided to only swing my axe whenever one of them is making a move against me. And so over time the dust settled and i sat with them at the campfire under the palm tree. At the dawn of Legion and at the dusk of the Battle of Azeroth, i finally changed my direction and became officially part of the Alliance. I was tired of the Hordes new leaderships decisions being reckless, impulsive and to emotional to have any grasp of substantial structure, the very essence of what was there when the New Horde formed under our old leader Thrall. It is now my hammer of justice that is putting those into place that still need to learn their lesson in Azeroth. And that is.. Make love, not Warcraft!

I swear blizzard hated the alliance. Horde get wailing caverns, SFK, RFK, scarlet monastery and other great low level dungeons near their questing zone while alliance have to go south to booty bay and catch a boat or north to loch mudan through to the the wetlands, to hillsbrad etc.

I agree with the lore part, I always loved alliance lore more but- horde zones are so much better, nothing beats the experiences of durotar/the barrens in a fresh server.

I am an Alliance player, and this video feels like a reality. Westfall, Redridge, and Duskwood show how poor the Alliance is. On the other hand you got the Horde conquering the world including itself.

Sorry, got to disagree. Although the night elves certainly were way more neutral in WcIII, the orcs did sort of invade their forests first, slaughter their armies, defile their ancient groves and killed night elf Jesus. Even if they fought against the burning legion, you think the nelfs will side with the guys who did all that instead of the humans who are prettier and more importantly aren’t expanding into their homeland. Conversely, it makes sense for the undead to be with horde over alliance because what alliance nation would accept the undead after everything that happened in the third war? Not to mention Sylvanas kicked off her kingdom by killing an alliance grand marshal Garithos and slaughtering his human/dwarf army. Nah, the factions make sense. If you mean for them to be neutral, I guess so, but even then it makes sense for both the night elves and the undead to forge alliances considering how desperate their situations were. With the horde and scourge on their respective doorsteps and very limited numbers, it is logical that they’d seek to join some other confederations for their own protection. Without alliance protection l, the nelfs woulda gotten krumped in no time by the combined orcs Tauren and trolls
@@42Nightsyesterday All of this happened before Hyjal, there could be some groups of Elves that have strong animosity to them but Tyrande who by far was most vicious towards them by during late stages of Reign of Chaos(literarily murdering one of the combined forces of Thralls and Jainas people lead by that paladin in the first mission of nelven campaign) gave up the grudge towards them dor that. They gave orcs and humans lands to live in Kalimdor in return for their sacrifices at Hyjal. Stuff like warsong lumber camp shouldnt even exist after Grom got corrupted and killed Cenarius as Mannoroth made all of them move elsewhere before Thrall and Jaina cured him and he died after killing Mannoroth later.

The humans and orcs also “forgave” eachother by the same logic, and how long did that forgiveness last? Also do you have a source for Tyrande “giving” durotar and Theramore to the orcs and humans? Pretty sure neither of those were hers to give. Moreover, the orcs need wood and their ain’t many trees in durotar if you didn’t notice. in the absence of a real imminent world ending threat I don’t think the orcs would shy away from pissing off the already super hostile nelfs on their border. Hard to maintain a good relationship with the 7ft tsunderes that’ll shoot you right up the ass for stepping on a flower in their special forest or looking at a squirrel the wrong way. Thrall doesn’t like needless conflict, but he ain’t gonna let his people go homeless. He was building a city and a kingdom out of mostly wood. Conflict was inevitable. Do you really think the nelfs knew or care if grom was cursed or not? Cenarius was literally Jesus for them. That’s not something that gets forgiven, even when fighting satan. The human meanwhile, though also in conflict with the nelfs initially (because of the orcs) didn’t do nearly as much damage. So I disagree, nelf and orc animosity has plenty of justification, even more than perhaps most other races

To be fair alliance early leveling zones are way more developed than hordes, its obvious they were created first with some intent on making them more engaging. Meanwhile something like the barrens is obviously loved, but it has no long quest chains that i can recall, just zhevra hooves and a delivery to TB.
fact: the devs knew that horde players on average are way more stupid than alliance so they knew they had to put in the majority of their time to create the alliance zones and with whatever little time they had left, they did the horde zones. the hordies wouldn't realize it anyways and wouldn't complain so why put up the effort?

I seen people re level the same class in tbc just because orc was better then trolls in pvp. undead racial will no longer be op and everybody will be human 5% more damage you think people are going to pass that up?
@@naquan59 Maybe they will roll human, but still even very few of them for example warriors will be: top pvp skilled AND at the same time be in a good pve guild to roll pve leather armor / agility 25 hc items, farm smourne and gain x2 bis items. This is why, dwarf / nelf / undead / belf / orc racials will still be viable and more useful than human racial which becomes op only when you have EASY access to end game gear.

My journey in WoW started as a rebellious Horde, loving the fancy ways of its habits. Being young and wild, annoying the brave and nerdy boring alliance players. I sneaked my way into their land, murdered their civilians and adventures and hid in the barn rooftop from the royal guards and elite veterans of Stormwind. I learned the hard way and became stronger over the years. Eventually i butchered my way through the high ranks of the Horde dominating the battlegrounds and gates of Orgrimmar. It is there where i lastly found Alliance players that liked to do both, being calm but chaotic as well. After many bloody battles against them i decided to only swing my axe whenever one of them is making a move against me. And so over time the dust settled and i sat with them at the campfire under the palm tree. At the dawn of Legion and at the dusk of the Battle of Azeroth, i finally changed my direction and became officially part of the Alliance. I was tired of the Hordes new leaderships decisions being reckless, impulsive and to emotional to have any grasp of substantial structure, the very essence of what was there when the New Horde formed under our old leader Thrall. It is now my hammer of justice that is putting those into place that still need to learn their lesson in Azeroth. And that is..

I swear blizzard hated the alliance. Horde get wailing caverns, SFK, RFK, scarlet monastery and other great low level dungeons near their questing zone while alliance have to go south to booty bay and catch a boat or north to loch mudan through to the the wetlands, to hillsbrad etc.
Alliance have way better developed leveling zones and quests in the same range though.

Remember that in retail land Blizz had to add cross-faction just to give the Alliance people to play with.
I convinced 4 of my close friends to switch in the middle of TBC's lifespan to go alliance for a fresh start! Well we are all settled into our max level characters and they are slowly but surely missing the horde and this video did NOT help! I DEMAND equality thus a video on the horde just like this!

I have to disagree with the zones and lore, the Alliance is literally all the lore in WoW, and they have the best zone story arcs. Rest is accurate.
I agree with the lore part, I always loved alliance lore more but- horde zones are so much better, nothing beats the experiences of durotar/the barrens in a fresh server.

On the other hand, well… let’s not talk about Sylvannas’ character arc and WOD… we owe the last 14 years of dogshit retail to the Horde’s lore, with a brief breath of fresh air during Legion… which was basically Illidan, Kadghar and the Kirin Tor… Alliance.
Blame is to be out on the writers, of course. Horde lore during W3 was a blast. The fucked it to bits post Wrath.

I started out as Horde. Then I met an IRL friend that played exclusively Alliance. So I changed factions to hang out with IRL friend more. It was the worst mistake of my life.

tbf, to me horde was always the childish one to play. Even as a 16 yo I felt I didn't wanna play horde bc all the 13 yos played it bc the "monster" and "evil" looking characters were "cool". Eventually I went horde bc all my friends played it. Every time I feel I want to go back to ally tho. 1:48 literally showing Teldrassil and then going to the Barrens lol.

I am an Alliance player, and this video feels like a reality. Westfall, Redridge, and Duskwood show how poor the Alliance is. On the other hand you got the Horde conquering the world including itself.

This never made any sense just like Forsaken in the Horde in regards of Warcraft III, but i guess they were too lazy to make these both factions their own/neutral kind.
Sorry, got to disagree. Although the night elves certainly were way more neutral in WcIII, the orcs did sort of invade their forests first, slaughter their armies, defile their ancient groves and killed night elf Jesus.
Even if they fought against the burning legion, you think the nelfs will side with the guys who did all that instead of the humans who are prettier and more importantly aren’t expanding into their homeland.
Conversely, it makes sense for the undead to be with horde over alliance because what alliance nation would accept the undead after everything that happened in the third war? Not to mention Sylvanas kicked off her kingdom by killing an alliance grand marshal Garithos and slaughtering his human/dwarf army. Nah, the factions make sense.
If you mean for them to be neutral, I guess so, but even then it makes sense for both the night elves and the undead to forge alliances considering how desperate their situations were. With the horde and scourge on their respective doorsteps and very limited numbers, it is logical that they’d seek to join some other confederations for their own protection. Without alliance protection l, the nelfs woulda gotten krumped in no time by the combined orcs Tauren and trolls
@@42Nightsyesterday All of this happened before Hyjal, there could be some groups of Elves that have strong animosity to them but Tyrande who by far was most vicious towards them by during late stages of Reign of Chaos(literarily murdering one of the combined forces of Thralls and Jainas people lead by that paladin in the first mission of nelven campaign) gave up the grudge towards them dor that.
They gave orcs and humans lands to live in Kalimdor in return for their sacrifices at Hyjal.
Stuff like warsong lumber camp shouldnt even exist after Grom got corrupted and killed Cenarius as Mannoroth made all of them move elsewhere before Thrall and Jaina cured him and he died after killing Mannoroth later.

Sure it all happened before Hyjal, but it still happened. The second war happened before Hyjal too and everyone is still pissed about that, and the orcs didn’t even kill Jesus that time. Killing deer Jesus I think meant a lot more than you give credit for.

Also do you have a source for Tyrande “giving” durotar and Theramore to the orcs and humans? Pretty sure neither of those were hers to give.
Moreover, the orcs need wood and their ain’t many trees in durotar if you didn’t notice. in the absence of a real imminent world ending threat I don’t think the orcs would shy away from pissing off the already super hostile nelfs on their border. Hard to maintain a good relationship with the 7ft tsunderes that’ll shoot you right up the ass for stepping on a flower in their special forest or looking at a squirrel the wrong way. Thrall doesn’t like needless conflict, but he ain’t gonna let his people go homeless. He was building a city and a kingdom out of mostly wood. Conflict was inevitable.
Do you really think the nelfs knew or care if grom was cursed or not? Cenarius was literally Jesus for them. That’s not something that gets forgiven, even when fighting satan. The human meanwhile, though also in conflict with the nelfs initially (because of the orcs) didn’t do nearly as much damage. So I disagree, nelf and orc animosity has plenty of justification, even more than perhaps most other races

Orcs- not as fun as Warhammer 40k
Blood Elf- buildings look like they're plastic and made in China. Only two genders: gay and Karen and they compose quite a bit of the Horde

Trolls- Darkspear clowns not as cool as Zandalari.
Nightbourne- night elves combined with "Glowing Ones", and no, I'm not talking about the feds

Zandalari got crushed by literal goblins wdym. They came across way more failure than the darkspear (First night elves, then goblins, now blood trolls). Aside from that, I agree on everything you say (Except the goblin part, goblins and gnomes are two opposites: Goblins are the master race and Gnomes are idiots who have blown up their own city)

To be fair alliance early leveling zones are way more developed than hordes, its obvious they were created first with some intent on making them more engaging. Meanwhile something like the barrens is obviously loved, but it has no long quest chains that i can recall, just zhevra hooves and a delivery to TB.
fact: the devs knew that horde players on average are way more stupid than alliance so they knew they had to put in the majority of their time to create the alliance zones and with whatever little time they had left, they did the horde zones. the hordies wouldn't realize it anyways and wouldn't complain so why put up the effort?
