I actually like the open heart. As a small second watch i also prefer hamilton's railroad small second. Nice and often overlooked brand I must say.

Just received my Jazzmaster this morning with a nice bonus. A Cartier 20 ETA 2824-2 movement!!
    Absolutely thrilled with it!

I was able to find a solid gold Jazzmaster. They only made 500 of them in a limited edition a few years back. Great watch and one to look at if you can find it. They shifted their only true full gold watch to the thinline but I got lucky and ran across one of my grail watches by chance. POWER RESERVE 18KT ROSE GOLD model H32549595.

My first proper watch I bought for my 21st was a Jazzmaster openheart and I love it. Probably a bit too dressy for every day, but I still wear it every day none the less. thanks for sharing the love

I’m looking to buy one for my 18th but I can’t really justify paying almost 1000 Seeing that some sell for half the price preowned on eBay.

A Hamilton Khaki Pilot Day Date (Interstellar) is my everyday watch and I love it. Very solid value that's hard to beat. The only problem in choosing a Jazzmaster is which one, there are so many great ones.

On the topic of small seconds dials, I totally agree with you. I have a current timex watch with small sub second dial, that has a ww1 trench watch vib to it. Only complaint not luminous hands, though the back light feature does more than compensate.

Can I rant in your comments? And not that Hamilton watches do this, but a pet peeve of mine is Chronograph watches that have a second hand but uses one of the sub dials as the second hand. I HATE that. I love the second hand going around the watch face. Whoever invented the sub dial for the second hand on a chronograph should be flogged! Rant done..

    • @ekoulak
      @ekoulak 6 лет назад +5

Mark Klein its called small seconds, quiet common on watches even without the chronograph. Maybe not your cup of tea but that the beautiful thing about watches, many styles to choose from. Cheers.

i do like skeletonized watches and open heart watches so i think that black and rose gold open heart would be a good one to daily. It looks less formal than the watch that i have, i find that my current one goes better with long winter coats and suits and the hamilton goes more with t-shirts and things like that.
EDIT: nvm found and open heart orient.

My main gripe with a lot of Hamilton watches is that they love to cut off dial features with other designs, or open heart cut outs. Every company does this to some extent, but Hamilton does this in every collection and it can get annoying to look at. They randomly will cut out a 3, 6, , 12, or something and it makes the dial look really off. Nothing wrong with asymmetry, but the way Hamilton does it sometimes just feels like it was randomly done without much thought. Which I am sure they did put a lot of thought in the design, but the presentation of it just makes it look thoughtless.

Hamilton is a brand I've been contemplating adding to my collection and that GMT along with the Maestro looks nice!
Completely different subject, but do you have any experience with Russian mechanical alarm watches? I recently got the Strela Signal and love it. I've kinda gotten used to dive bezels & chronograph complications, so the style allows me to have a big, uncluttered pilot dial yet still track time with the little alarm hand if not the alarm itself, which is surprisingly effective, lol

Josh Slimmer that is the beauty.... Wearing a vintage style gentleman dress watch should not be concerned about seconds.....
If I had to buy a Hamilton the 38mm Intra would be it...
      www.jomashop.com/hamilton-intra-matic-men-watch-h38455751.html?pt_source=googleads&pt_medium=cpc&pt_campaign=(ROI)+Shopping+-+Sale+Watches+$500+-+1000&gclid=Cj0KCQjwzIzWBRDnARIsAAkc8hEc7nrWDVlJNy_f_pT7RTIFetj374ICUh7VVMpj5mN0GHQWlv_y0ZkaAhWWEALw_wcB
However for twice the money like the Seiko Baby Snowflake SARX055.
However neither watch meets my 3 watches under $1000.... All need to be 38mm 20 lug (intra has both)
Have a Seiko SKX013 ($200) and the Seiko Alpinist ($450) thus looking for a dress watch at $350 or less.
