YESSSSS I can't do a no seconds hand. I need to see that sweap 😄 I think I would find myself checking if the watch stopped all the time. On dress watches I love the small seconds hand on the bottom like the Omega Seamasters from the 50s and the Gruen Precision like Sean Connery wore 👍 and also the JLC Reverso with the small seconds hand sub dial
Agreed. If I want a really thin dress watch with no seconds hand I'd just go quartz. Thinner watch, better accuracy, exactly the same looks. It's the reason why the Intra-Matic line never appealed to me as well.
Thanks for the great review. I picked up a wine variant for $424 on Ashford. Great value. My purchase is a direct result of your fantastic recommendation.
I just bought today the white/cream dial with green leather band version of this watch. While doing my research got to your review. The Hamilton Jazzmaster looks stunning in person. The thin profile and fit where the selling point to me. I got it for a really good price too.
I own the one with the gold dial. The sunburst effect is just gorgeous! I do miss the seconds hand, but it's overall a great watch, extremely comfortable to wear thanks to its thinness. I also love its versatility. For me, it is a great way to enter the world of watches :)
I picked up the one with the gold dial for my upcoming wedding and can't stop myself from peeking into the box every now and then-just to watch it catch the light.
Love my Hamilton khaki aviator. It was my first automatic watch even though I have a speedmaster and other more expensive watches now, I still love wearing it!!
I already have the gold dial thinline, and was literally just looking about online debating getting the red dial too. Then spot this video in my feed 😂. I absolutely adore the thinlines.
I just bought the Jazzmaster Thinline, but with the quartz movement! It feels the same as the automatic, due to there’s No smooth seconds hand! I love it, it’s very purist, the Jazzmaster gives me the exact time and the date, you Don’t need it to be any more…..👍🏻😉
Great looking Hammy. Final judgement for me would be to try it on in a dealer. The case diameter makes me question if it would be worth the ownership. 36mm would be preferred.
That was my first and only Swiss watch. I work from home but I still pick it up off my desk and play with it in the light. Beautiful watch, would highly recommended
I think the most important with this watch is the great movement. ETA2892a2 is , for many , the best movement in mass production. 4Hz , very thin and expensive. It is used in really expensive watches by TAG , Panerai, Bell&Ross, Sinn etc. So this watch costs less than its movement. My complain is that it's a pity to have a 2892a2 but not a seconds hand to enjoy.
I just bought the one with the burgundy dial. Stunning. Although it might be slightly too wide for my wrist, the width is counterbalanced by the watch's slimness. The lume is good enough to read the time approximately, though Hamilton could have done a better job. My only complaint (and disagreement with you) is the strap. It looks rather cheap. At the very least, it doesn't do justice to the watch, totally at odds with the overall elegance. The buckle, also, appears too bulky and heavy. A Hirsch strap would work well on this watch (with an "H" conveniently inscribed on a slim, curved buckle). On the whole, a great watch. And yes, I purchased it on Ashford for 484 dollars.
My two biggest issues with Hamilton, is as you stated, crappy lume and over-long lug to lug width for folks like me with a 6.5 inch wrist. It's a shame, because they do make beautiful watches. I had a Jazzmaster thinline chrono, but sold it because it just looked like a pie plate on my wrist.
difficult for me to relate to the lume critique. never understood why this feature of a watch was such a hang up point for so many in the space. i can't think of a single instance in modern day life where having lume would matter. the lug to lug is less than many of the seiko 5's.
Hey Time Teller, I just landed my hands on a beautiful white dial Seiko 7A28-7020 (it's the chronograph that was in the 1985 James Bond film "A View To A Kill") and it is a little watch with LOTS of history. Would you be interested in reviewing it?
Such an exceptionally beautiful watch, but I think the biggest flaw of it is the omission of the sweeping seconds hand. In my opinion the sweeping seconds motion is one of the main allures of mechanical watches and without it you might as well just wear a quartz watch and nobody would've noticed. It's a real shame to remove it since that smooth 4hz beat rate is one of the selling points of the high end ETA2892a2 movement used in this watch besides it's thinness. This movement is usually only found in very expensive watches that cost several thousands of dollars. A few extra millimeters would've absolutely been worth it in order to retain the second hand.
Gorgeous watch. Was thinking about picking one up for myself, went to Ashford and even though it's not in stock right now, price shows $744. Still much cheaper than ADs but nowhere close to the $400/$500 a few people on here commented about. Was really looking to pickup my first Hamilton, so what gives? Is there some kind of extra discount/coupons/etc... available? Or prices just almost doubles in 1 year?
There's a H42515555 in my future, soon-ish. I caved and went with a really nice lower-end micro (Vero Empire Tux) instead of the H42515555...that's my next watch, as soon as the big contract signs...
If I was going to buy a wristwatch that one would be it. $500 would be an absolute limit for me, by the way (of course I would go slightly up for a vintage Cartier Tank, by the way).
Thank god for the gray market eh? They may be vacuuming up all the "R" steel sports, but they're enabling those 40% discounts on Hamiltons, Tissots, and a lot of other brands, right?
I have a pretty small wrist, but 46mm lug to lug is on the smaller side IMO. Perhaps I’m just desensitized by the oversized watch fads of yesteryear lol
Nice watch, I do prefer a second hand. Honestly, I would go for an Orient Star or Seiko Presage instead. Just my opinion. As for the Seiko or Orient strap, I'd save enough money to buy two good straps, at least. I never expect good lume on a dress watch anyway so I'd give that a pass. My 8" wrist can handle the lug to lug, As for price even at half price it doesn't interest me without a second hand.
Jory any chance you could please review - Hamilton American Classic Intra-Matic Auto Chrono Green Dial Men Watch H38416160. Can not get this one in Australia but been thinking to order one from US :) PS - when are you getting you Bulova Lunar Pilot 50th Anniversary? People already started getting deliveries, patiently waiting for you review :)))) Thank you
Beautiful watch. The lack of seconds hand is great. It would have been a distraction. 5bar WR, Sapphire crystal, high quality leather band, automatic and thin. The colour matched date wheel. I’m in love.
I love Hamilton designs EXCEPT their odd obsession with leaving the seconds hand off their most beautiful watches, such as the intra-matic. It just ruins any automatic design in my opinion.
Both Certina & Hamilton are part of the Swatch Group, although they are run as separate companies. They do share some of the same ETA movements (as ETA are owned by Swatch as well) although the Hamilton here has a higher end ETA 2892 movement in it, which may explain the retail price.
You could say that every watch collector should have an Ingersoll as part of their collection. This will remind them that everybody is allowed one mistake.......but don't do it again!
Check out the Intra-Matic 38mm line. I own reference H38455781 with the smoky grey sunburst dial and gilt hands and markers and I just love it!!! Amazingly beautiful watch.
When buying watches online do you have to worry about counterfeit Hamilton’s, longines or watches in this general category? Or so people really just start making fake watches for the omega/Rolex level and up?
Everything was great until I heard 40mm.....that's a dinner plate for small wrists. Big time wet blanket. 36-38 MAX for dresswatches. Seiko has the same issue.
Idk if anybody else has this experience with Hamilton but my crown gets stuck and spins the rotor really fast and it feels terrible. It’s been serviced 3x since 2017 in warranty and keeps getting extended but then it keeps happening again. Drives me nuts.
First-off... I am a longtime "Ham-head"; I loves me some Hamilton watches. BUT... MINERAL crystal on a nearly 1K watch? And... that "swiss made" made me crack-up. It looks like a kid with some rub-on letters applied them. But, mainly... I absolutely CANNOT see any blue on the dial; is it the camera? My monitor is okay, so... what gives? I have a Hamilton Jazzmaster (not Thinline, sadly) that did not cost as much as this one (bought in 2019) and it has a sapphire crystal. It is GORGEOUS; this one kinda dropped the ball.
Thanks for the shoutout! Great review :-)
Beautiful! But seriously, where is the seconds hand??? For me, the main reason to get an automatic is to actually see how it works.
Yes it needs a seconds hand! At least they did'nt put "Jazzmaster" on the dial.
If I want a super thin watch with no seconds hand, I’d go quartz.
True, i need it to set my watch. I want to stop the seconds hand at the 12 hour mark coz i like my time to be set perfectly.
Agreed. If I want a really thin dress watch with no seconds hand I'd just go quartz. Thinner watch, better accuracy, exactly the same looks. It's the reason why the Intra-Matic line never appealed to me as well.
I got mine yesterday with dark brown strap and burgundy dial, and it's beautiful. Was love at first sight honestly
My wife just bought the Hamilton Jazzmaster Lady Auto with blue dial and loves it. It is an absolutely beautiful watch.
What a large diameter for an all-dial dress watch. Would look best as a 36 - 38mm imho
Hamilton is doing almost everything right. Best entry level Swiss brand, IMO. Good review, man!
Hamilton and Tissot, like Coke and Pepsi
@@madrat5176 no doubt! Two of the best ways to get into automatics!!
@@xC4Rbonx Definitely!
Wish Hamilton included a second hand. With the eta 2892 movement, a smooth second hand would make this watch perfect.
Great vid. Have a Blue face Jazzmaster day date in the collection. Love it. Timeless elegance..
Great video, I just bought my first Jazzmaster, I am amazed at the bang per buck, beautiful craftsmanship and design
Thank goodness Swatch owns ETA. I haven't warmed up to Sellita movements yet, but I'm a big ETA fan.
I receive mine a few days ago. What a stunner!
It’s a great looking watch. Can’t go wrong with a Hamilton IMO. Thanks Jory!
Thanks for the great review. I picked up a wine variant for $424 on Ashford. Great value. My purchase is a direct result of your fantastic recommendation.

Of the 4 Hammy's I own, the jazzmaster is my favorite. Second hand, day/date in blue with a bracelet.
I own the one with the gold dial. The sunburst effect is just gorgeous! I do miss the seconds hand, but it's overall a great watch, extremely comfortable to wear thanks to its thinness. I also love its versatility. For me, it is a great way to enter the world of watches :)

Love my Hamilton khaki aviator. It was my first automatic watch even though I have a speedmaster and other more expensive watches now, I still love wearing it!!
The burgundy dial is gorgeous as well. I own four Hamiltons, and would gladly buy another. Or two.
I already have the gold dial thinline, and was literally just looking about online debating getting the red dial too. Then spot this video in my feed 😂. I absolutely adore the thinlines.
The watch is blessedly devoid of a seconds hand, a rare treat. Definetly on my list.
Great video Jory, I love Hamilton and I always wanna see more!
2:54 is where the review actually starts
🤣😂
I like it quite a bit. I have to say your reviews are much better than they were 4 years ago.
Finally something main stream. Microbrand monday got old really fast.
Beautiful watch. Every collection needs a Hamilton!!!
Thank you Goodman

Great looking Hammy. Final judgement for me would be to try it on in a dealer. The case diameter makes me question if it would be worth the ownership. 36mm would be preferred.
I think I would call it a teal blue. Price is reasonable for A Swiss dress watch. But I am saving up for an Interstellar.
That was my first and only Swiss watch. I work from home but I still pick it up off my desk and play with it in the light. Beautiful watch, would highly recommended
Thanks Jory! Have a penchant for a thin dress watch these days.
Nice looking dial there.
Absolutely beautiful piece!
I like the salmon dial from the thinline.
Beautiful dial, and love the 8mm thickness.
Beauty, but why without second hand? C'mon - i like sweepings hands...
I really want a Hamilton in my collection but I just haven't pulled the trigger yet
I just bought the one with the burgundy dial. Stunning. Although it might be slightly too wide for my wrist, the width is counterbalanced by the watch's slimness. I have this exact watch! Absolutely love it! 😍
I wanted to buy the Hamilton Khaki Field auto but I heard it doesn't have AR coating and has a really bad glare
That’s a beautiful elegant watch
Beautiful watch! Amazing value!
45.9mm L2L is not over long imho

That's a beauty. I need to own a Hamilton... Damnit.
This watch or Frederique Constant FC-225ST5B6 for wedding but casual aswell after? FC is quartz btw. Ty
I have the white dial with golden hands. Its, for me, an affordable substitute of my beloved Nomos Orion, which is more expensive
Very cool! Reminds me of the european alpinist. Gorgeous dial.
Hey Time Teller, I just landed my hands on a beautiful white dial Seiko 7A28-7020 (it's the chronograph that was in the 1985 James Bond film "A View To A Kill") and it is a little watch with LOTS of history. Would you be interested in reviewing it?
I actually like the Hamilton intra matic hand wind no date in Panda 🐼
This ones nice but IMO best Hamilton is the Broadway Blue/Green dial chrono on bracelet(60hr power reserve)
I just bought Thinline H38525541, blue dial variant, do u also have video ref how to set time & date as well? Thank you
Such an exceptionally beautiful watch, but I think the biggest flaw of it is the omission of the sweeping seconds hand. I would argue that Tissot factory straps are worse than factory Seiko straps.
Dammit boys we have ads. Glad ur getting the $ u deserve Jory but DAMMIT.
Beautiful, but a little too big as a dress watch for my tiny wrists. I prefer 36-38 mm for dress watches.
It looks nice. Get on with it!
There's a H42515555 in my future, soon-ish. I caved and went with a really nice lower-end micro (Vero Empire Tux) instead of the H42515555...that's my next watch, as soon as the big contract signs...
Nice; will probably go on my long-term to buy list. Funny though, it reminds me a bit of the Swiss Army-Victorinox Alliance...
If I was going to buy a wristwatch that one would be it. $500 would be an absolute limit for me, by the way (of course I would go slightly up for a vintage Cartier Tank, by the way).
In my country the color of that dial is called "Mouse blue" :D
Thank god for the gray market eh? They may be vacuuming up all the "R" steel sports, but they're enabling those 40% discounts on Hamiltons, Tissots, and a lot of other brands, right?
The lume is fine, relax.
I have a pretty small wrist, but 46mm lug to lug is on the smaller side IMO. Perhaps I’m just desensitized by the oversized watch fads of yesteryear lol
Updated Ashford sale price is $485. Thank you Jory.
Love 2 hand watches.
I have one and I love it

I think my next watch is going to be the Cooper or Murph. I like the look of the Cooper better than Murph.
Without a seconds hand what’s the point of a mechanical watch?
Beautiful watch. The lack of seconds hand is great. It would have been a distraction. 5bar WR, Sapphire crystal, high quality leather band, automatic and thin. The colour matched date wheel. I’m in love.
I love Hamilton designs EXCEPT their odd obsession with leaving the seconds hand off their most beautiful watches, such as the intra-matic. It just ruins any automatic design in my opinion.
There is literally NO ADVANTAGE to an automatic watch if you lose the seconds hand. NONE
$365 right now at Shopworn. Too good of a deal to pass up.
That looks almost exactly like the Certina DS-1 I just received only mine has a second hand and 80 hours reserve. Same OEM?
Both Certina & Hamilton are part of the Swatch Group, although they are run as separate companies. They do share some of the same ETA movements (as ETA are owned by Swatch as well) although the Hamilton here has a higher end ETA 2892 movement in it, which may explain the retail price.
I got mine on ashford for $269
Love colored day and date wheels.
Can't even think about a white one on a darker dial.
I love Hamilton watches, but the luminosity is terrible on the watches I own. Not a deal breaker for me, but it is a failing.
I prefer Longines or Omega this is ok though
Will Hamilton ever give us a Jazzmaster with a second hand? 🙏
Jory, try Maurice lacroix masterpieces... 🤭😅👍🏽💪🏽🙏🏽🇮🇩
You could say that every watch collector should have an Ingersoll as part of their collection. This will remind them that everybody is allowed one mistake.......but don't do it again!
I would buy it on the fly if it was 38 or 39.
Hamilton has some gorgeous pieces but really insist on making them too big.
Check out the Intra-Matic 38mm line. I own reference H38455781 with the smoky grey sunburst dial and gilt hands and markers and I just love it!!! Amazingly beautiful watch.
@@frankpentangeli7945 I will! Thank you for the suggestion 😀
@@Bhethar You won't regret it! It was my first, and I still reach for it often.

Where is the blue dial moan ? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The Hanmy Spirit of Liberty is my favorite 🔥🔥🔥check it out boyz
Had my first hands on with Hamilton range recently. I was disappointed with the quality of the straps. This Model a little too plain for me.
When buying watches online do you have to worry about counterfeit Hamilton’s, longines or watches in this general category? Or so people really just start making fake watches for the omega/Rolex level and up?
Buy a pressage instead way better value
Everything was great until I heard 40mm.....that's a dinner plate for small wrists. Big time wet blanket. 36-38 MAX for dresswatches. Seiko has the same issue.
In soviet russia, time invented watch. And watchtowers.

would've been perfect with 37mm

Hamilton Intra-Matic Panda chronograph: "am I a joke to you?"
Jk. Love Hamilton as a whole.
Add a second hand and make it in 37-38 mm, that’s all this watch needs to be perfect.
Dissapointed, a bit meh for the price. Better fare at the Seiko Presage show.
