It’s the only LU line I’ve never traveled on! The current rolling stock wasn’t transferred from the Central line. They were acquired by BR and then referred to as 1992 stock when the line became part of the LU. Love your videos, keep up the great content 😊!
Super! Always had to invent an excuse to use this line when I lived in London. The old ex-Southern Railway 1940 tube trains were quaint and bounced around the sharp bends. One’s preserved at LT Museum Acton store, so worth checking out. The line was also unique for its original travelator at Bank and for the Saturday service finishing at lunchtime. This was in pre-Big Bang days when City Stockbrokers and financiers commuted, as you say, from deepest Surrey. Peak trains were packed. Back then, aside from Red Arrows, alternatives would be via Tottenham Court Road; or Monument and Embankment; or London Bridge then Southern Region to Waterloo East. But remember Northern line platforms and passages at Bank and London Bridge were far narrower then.
Pint chat returns … no tescos chat tho … I am just surprised that when you mentioned the trains being taken out of the depot you didn’t find the pictures as i remember it very well. Good video as always
The stock for the W&C is identical to the stock on the Central. Bit was effectively a secrete order. For Netowrk southeast. They were in a sor of NSE Livery.. the stock replaced Southern Railway designed Stock dated from 1940
W&C isn't accessible, and to do the interchange at London Bridge from Northern to Jubilee you have to go back to to street level, leave the station and re-enter. I don't have to imagine what if the W&C didn't exist because for me it already doesn't 😢
There is no service on Saturday or Sunday, and the line was closed for a long time during Covid. I don’t think I’ve used it since the new trains were introduced, about thirty years ago.

As someone who is now normally in London at weekends, I really miss the W&C!
I like how you said “Sheila and the kids”. I have been on the Waterloo & City Line lots of times and it’s so unique.
Super!

your home isnt important and tfl never built this
@ Oops! I meant bus stop. My bus takes an 8-minute express route for no apparent reason.

W&C 1992 Tube Stock
I've been on the W&C only once - and it's always been closed every time I've tried to again, very annoying

My favourite tube line, although it was better when it used to have real overground style trains.
One of a kind!
1st to comment 💯
Come again? Quick as you can now.
Too much to see here.
Actually jokes aside, I like the humanity you show, but am not a fan of the extreme close-ups. Too close, too sudden, too many!
RUclips auto generated subs call you ‘some brother’ 😂 I would have preferred ‘some brother express’ but i’ll take facts being facts 😂😂😂
Great vid by the way.
