Another good video. Thank you sir!!! Loving your Etsy shop. Been trying to figure out how to scale down the transforming shelves and I'm definitely checking out the workshop. This is by far my FAVORITE woodworking channel. You always have the most practical content.
The guy covered in tats complains that the pencil pinches his ear 😂😂 I both love and hate it when you do these tool videos. I always want to run to the store immediately and pick up a few things!
Keep this series going please! I enjoy learning about tools that are actually helpful. I've always wondered, is that a small camera attached to your hat?
I keep a little gooseneck sewing machine light on my bandsaw and drill press. They both plug into a power strip so the lights plug in too. Not portable like these lights Matthew is taking about, but for two places that always need light, they are great. I'm definitely going to keep that thin stirip rip guide in mind if start doing that more often.
So many of them I could seriously use. Going to have read up and decide which I can buy now and which I can wait for Santa to bring me. Another fantastic video than you.
For pencils I get Paper Mate "handwriting" mechanical pencils. They're fat, triangular (rounded edges,), use a 1.3mm lead, and come in a pack of 5 w/ refill lead for under $3.00 at Walmart. They're also bright colors, so easier to see when you lay them down randomly in the shop!
Love you're focus on safety!!! with your words and advice the wife and I sold 550.00 at our craft fair this weekend. Largest sales so far but were loving the quality time together!
In between the two pencils you showed is the Graphgear 500. It's s simpler version of the 1000, with a mostly plastic, partially metal body. It comes in 0.3, 0.5, 0.7 and 0.9mm sizes. I keep one of each handy in my shop. I too found the 1000 was a bit heavy, but it does have the advantage that the entire tip can retract into the body, which is nice, because dropping a mechanical pencil on a concrete floor can bend or break the metal tip. I've tried many mechanical drafting pencils over years (since 7th grade in 1974), and always go back to something made by Pentel for quality and value.
Great list of useful things. Like the pencils and the repurposing the 123 block. I have 2 magnetic based plug in task lights that are great task lights when working on smaller areas/projects.
Mathew, first and foremost I love your vids. Starting my woodworking journey. I’ve noticed in a few vids your bits are falling out of your chuck. There’s a way to lock your chuck to prevent this from happening. First, lock it hand tight. Then, go slightly back until you hear and feel it click in. Then, go forward again until it clicks/locks in. That’s how you lock a chuck in. Especially with round shank bits.
bro i hear ya bput reaching under 4 the router n vac !!!! after turnining a old garage door remote and turning the reciever into a outlet i was in love. now i have a under 20 $ from amazon unit w a remote w a hook for my belt loop !!! u hit the bullseye on this one !!!!!!😂
Love when you do these videos , you always have a great tool I’ve never thought or knew how to use . Hoping you will do another class as we can’t do your current one 😮 Remember you are Blessed and Highly Favored
I'm 5 minutes into this video, and have already ordered a thin rip guide. I hate moving a fence in a quarter inch at a time and getting it balls on accurate cut, especially if you have a cheaper table saw and the measurements on the guide are not as accurate as a high dollar saw. Love all your videos. I've made and sold at least 6 concealment coffee tables!
The first item, power outlet that autostarts another outlet. I have one of those and it's great. But I think the better deal is the BT remote activated outlets. I have the HBN Outdoor Indoor Wireless Remote (three pack for $22) and it's fantastic. I have the LED on one, and two shopvacs on two other. I put the remote on my belt and it's always there.
Hey! What's that drawer unit in the background? That thing is truly wild. You built that? I can't appreciate the insane work that must have gone into it.
I won't lie man, sometimes I don't hit the dust collector at work just so I can go under the table at the end of the day, and sit there for 10 minutes to clean out the cage with the extractor hose inside. ( it's a sawstop ). It's the only time in the day I get a moment to sit down and rest my back/knees.
Howdy Mathew! Very nice! Perfect small items to add to my Christmas list my family is always bugging me about this time of year lol. Thank you 🤠 NOTE: Looks like your push block link is the same as the rip guide link 😉
I thought I was the only one that used picks like that. When my blades start not cutting well due to build up on the teeth I take them off, soak them in a good cleaner for about 10 minutes then brush them with a brass bristled brush. They cut like new after a good cleaning.
I use a power strip that has a master port, and this allows me to plug. My miter, saw into the master, and then as soon as I pull the trigger, it will automatically turn on my dust extractor and the good thing was I picked it up at Ollies. It’s nothing special. They even have them at Walmart like 10 bucks.
Power switches: I have the issue of my table saw plus my shop vac will blow the 20amp circuit breaker any time I bog the table saw down close to its' 15amp draw. I would like to find a switch that will let me flip them both on, but on different circuits. Anyone know of such a thing?
Hey, just letting you know.. Amazon is saying they are out of a lot of the items you should be able to get your commission from. I’m thinking ya might go and update to products that are available. I don’t think that’s fair to you to not get paid.
NOW HOLD ON JUST A MINUTE. I thought your whole extraction system was a 2hp motor outside your shop that lands your dust in a barrow outside. What the heck was that on your wall?!
Lol. It was originally, and still is for all the rest of my tools. When I decided to make a miter saw cover to catch all of the fine dust from it I had to increase the cfm because it's an open system. So I added the small collector just for that. But the rest of my shop still runs off that old 2hp collector and pushes it all outside.
Why are your videos always so jerky? When you look at the camera and talk, there are always edits that are annoyingly jumpy. Either you cut out dead space or edit out mistakes, or what have you.
Another good video. Thank you sir!!! Loving your Etsy shop. Been trying to figure out how to scale down the transforming shelves and I'm definitely checking out the workshop. This is by far my FAVORITE woodworking channel. You always have the most practical content.
Awesome! Thank you!
purchased one of the thin strip units. wish i had one years ago. thanks for the tip. looking for the switched outlets now.
Definitely convinced me I need a few of these items. Thanks for this post!
Any time!
The guy covered in tats complains that the pencil pinches his ear 😂😂 I both love and hate it when you do these tool videos. I always want to run to the store immediately and pick up a few things!
😂 don’t try it on the ear! Enjoy your new tool.
Same here. I'll never have ALL the tools I'd like to have. The list just keeps growing lol
Using the 1-2-3 block as a weight for the light was a great tip!
Great post. Good info without any bothersome music!
Enjoyable listening to you… great style with lots of info!
Keep this series going please! I enjoy learning about tools that are actually helpful. I've always wondered, is that a small camera attached to your hat?
Will do! It’s a microphone 😬
As always, nuggets of wisdom. Thanks again Matthew!!
Matt, your videos are excellent. Thanks!!
My pleasure!

Good idea! Thanks for sharing.
Good recommendations for sure, and good video making
Much appreciated!
Ordered several items off this list...thanks!
So many of them I could seriously use. Going to have read up and decide which I can buy now and which I can wait for Santa to bring me. Another fantastic video than you.
I have one of those switches on my router table also controlling the dust collection. It’s absolutely idiot proof. Well worth the money.

I’ve tried those too, just prefer the drafting pencils
Love you're focus on safety!!! with your words and advice the wife and I sold 550.00 at our craft fair this weekend. Largest sales so far but were loving the quality time together!
Thanks, ordered the machinist set and lamps.
Thanks for the ideas. I am buying the thin rip jig you recommended.
Could you do a video on a shop set up? I have a 20 x 20 shop that needs a better set up.
I actually have some old videos you should check out. It was when I was setting up my shop.
I cant find those videos? @@MatthewPeechWoodworking
Thank you Matthew!
Not a problem!

Awesome! Ty
Great video as always. Great tips on some great tools definitely going to checkout a few of them
Awesome, thanks for reminding us that we don’t need to mortgage the house to finance our hobby!
So true!
Awesome video as per normal, Matt.

Yup. Nuther good'un. Thankew!😊
👍🏻
I've been using a feather board for a thin rip jig. Wonder if a real one would be that much better.
I have to get that light though. Love it.
Love these!! Put many of them on my list. Unfortunately, the push block link goes to the things rip jig...can we get that link updated please?
Push blocks updated. Thx!
No problem.
"this little light of mine" i have 4 of those lights, great everywhere
So handy!
Love when you do these videos , you always have a great tool I’ve never thought or knew how to use .
Hoping you will do another class as we can’t do your current one 😮

Mr. Peech, you are quickly becoming one of my favorite content creators
Thanks so much!
Can you recommend a countersink bit set? I have a cheap set that broke after a few uses. Thanks in advance!
I'm one of those ...wait where did I drop my pencil at guys. LoL
Thanks for the info!
Great ideas.
You trying to clip that pencil on your ear 🤣🤣 you crack me up.
😂
Ggood stuff,thanks
Although I wouldn't consider many of these "essential," they certainly make for more convenience.

Where can I purchase that vacuum Clamp that you use on top of work table?? TIA
Howdy Mathew! Very nice! Perfect small items to add to my Christmas list my family is always bugging me about this time of year lol. Thank you 🤠

Should be fixed now :) thank you!

Good video, one (common) mistake. The pencil lead is not 9 mm … it is 0.9 mm.
Used my thin tip today
🥁
What brand is the thin rip jig in this video?
I have that aluminum pencil and I love it. BUT if you drop it the tip bends really really easily. I'm on my 3rd one
I actually use real used dental tools around the shop. I picked them up at flea markets for pennies.
I use a power strip that has a master port, and this allows me to plug. Do you have a link for the thin rip guide?
Thin rip guide amzn.to/3ClAcu8
There you go. All links are in the description of this video too
Can't find the link to order tools, please tell where it is
Just so you know, your push blocks link goes to the thin rip guide
Thanks, I’ll fix that
👍👍
😬
Push block = grout float. Rubberized bottom.
Power switches: I have the issue of my table saw plus my shop vac will blow the 20amp circuit breaker any time I bog the table saw down close to its' 15amp draw. I would like to find a switch that will let me flip them both on, but on different circuits.
Anyone know of such a thing?
12:20 too funny
😬
Will these lights, light up my dark soul?
No. the sun won't
Ewwwww, Matthew, "In no particular order." 🤮🤮🤮 Matthew, Matthew, Matthew!!! 😂😂😂 BTW, absolutely loved the rest of the recommendations! 😂❤😀
Should add that peeps disable any browser extensions like honey before buying
Please fix your jointer guard.

It's not saw dust it's man glitter 😂

Surprized spelled wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!
clip it to your hat
Dude, you have a weird accent are you from New Jersey?

Some great tools there!!! 😊👍🫡
I just purchased a $280 router with $100 worth of bits at Habitat For Humanty. Woot
