First glimpse into upcoming Noida International Airport

- Construction and development work at Noida International Airport is at an advanced stage as the commercial flight operations are expected to begin by the end of April 2025.
According to Noida International Airport Authority, the construction work is in an advanced stage, and the coming weeks are crucial for further progress. The runway, passenger terminal, and control tower construction are well-advanced. Recently, contracts were awarded for ground handling, commercial area operations, and important maintenance services.
Moreover, agreements have been signed with several airlines for flight connections from Noida International Airport.
After the construction, Noida International Airport will connect the greater Delhi area and Western Uttar Pradesh with other cities in India and globally. It will be the first airport of its kind in India to achieve net zero emissions, setting a new standard for sustainable airport operations.
At its opening, the airport will feature one runway and one terminal, with a capacity to handle 12 million passengers.
Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL) was established for the development, construction, and operation of this greenfield project, Noida International Airport.
The Delhi airport, India's busiest, handles approximately 1,200 flights per day. The Noida airport is expected to commence operations with 65 daily flights
Speaking to ANI, Christoph Schnellmann, CEO, Noida International Airport, said, “We have an opportunity today to showcase the development progress that we've made for Noida International Airport over the past 4.5 years...We expect to see an increase in flight operations over the next few weeks and months. We expect to see calibration flights for the instrument landing system take place in September. In October, we expect to see a number of validation flights for the approach and departure procedures later this year...The design that we've selected for the passenger terminal will incorporate heavily the rich architectural heritage of. We'll be using design elements that are prevalent in North India, in western UP...The development works on the cargo terminal and multimodal cargo hub are in full swing as well. We're working in partnership with Air India SATS who have designed the facility, who are constructing the facility and who will operate the facility. There will be a capacity for well over 1 lakh tonnes of cargo when the facility opens and it's designed in a modular fashion to grow with the demand. We plan to submit our application for the aerodrome license this year.”

It is not asia's largest. That is impossible as china already has bigger airports and building even larger. The government claim it will be largest after completion of all phases but by that time china will build even bigger than that.

Agree NMIA is almost complete. Main structures are done. ILS calibration done. The runway, taxiway, and main building are almost done. 75-80 construction looks complete
NMI construction started in Aug 2021 and will be operational in March 2025. NIA (Jewar) construction started June 2022 and will be operational in April 2025. Now compare who is far ahead 😂
