QC needs EQ to add a little more bottom end when compared to Tonex.
Both sound good, but the Tonex has a little bit more clarity and organic sounding

Great for convenience.. Tone wise- they fall short of the real amps. Just my 2cents.
The hard thing with such comparisons is that everyone in the comments is going to claim that the unit they have invested their money into sounds the best. 🤷🏻♂️😂 purchase bias.
I own ToneX. I actually think they both sound equally as good. I think the amazing thing here is that a much lower priced unit like ToneX can play with the big boys.
Qortex for me
Quad cortex all the way!
Truth be told, the Tonex sounds artificial, just like cheap and old processors. The tones are very muffled. There is no transparent sound. QC definitely sounds very, very high-end. IK Multimedia has applied their Amplitube program, which is so challenging that it can make you lose interest in life, to this processor as well. It takes half a day to get close to the tone you're looking for. They took advantage of the proliferation of tone capture and copying technology and released the tonex device, but it has a long way to go.
Cortex seems underpowered with a drop in volume when compared to Tonex
Quad Cortex sounds better
