Absolutely fantastic advice! Nathan, I love your stuff because you're analytical about EVERYTHING and leave nothing to chance. The best advice is: Don't give up if you don't get the results you want the first time. Go back, re-read the book/re-watch the ENTIRE video and try again. Keep trying until you get it right. This is important. It means you're onto something that any schmoe/schmoette who picks up a camera can't necessarily do. Once you master it, you'll be so far ahead of the ShowingTime+ minimum-wage HDR camera jockeys that you'll never look back.
So true Nathan. I have bought 6 of your books. You must treat these videos as a college lecture, take notes. With Nathan's books, take notes and highight certain parts. I am trying not to mix techniques. I am not ready for paying jobs because I am way to slow. The two minute rule video is humbling. I am not even close to being that fast, but I am practicing.
I transitioned from street photography to real estate photography as a means to generate an income. Your videos have thought me so much, and every time I watch other videos and go out to the field, I realize that those other videos don’t teach me the fundamentals. It’s exactly how you said it and they only teach what works in that particular situation. I’ve shot over 30 homes since I started 3 months ago and whenever I use a technique from another real estate RUclips channel, I end up regretting and just end up going back to your videos. I ended up thinking “why didn’t I just watch Nathan’s videos?” Now, I won’t watch any other real estate videos on RUclips besides yours. Thank you!
Thanks, Nathan, very interesting video. I suspected most of what you said, but was surprised by the low rate that most of the bigger channels get. Whenever I watch one of yours and a few of my other favorites, I always feel guilty by not watching it to the very end, hoping I help out the algorithms. It’s obvious you put in a lot of work to videos and I do appreciate it.
Thanks!!! Can I also ask something? Do you use a telephoto lens for closeups in Airbnb photography? I only have a 16-35 and I’m afraid that they will ask for close ups
Nathan, would you use flambient when photographing an airbnb villa? I'm just taking a look at some villas and nobody uses flambient. Okay, some shots may have a moody feel and it is nice. But 9/10 of the photos I see are hdr photos. Colors spill are all over the place. I don't know, me personally, in my next airbnb photoshooting, Im gonna use flambient. I think its the best way to make it look $$$
@@NathanCoolPhoto I understand. My guess is, maybe they just don't know how to do flambient technique. Even on some drone twilight photos I see, they just took one single image. And then they shofted the shadows so high up that it has so much noise and the highlights are blown off. Btw, I have a Godox 860iii and after seeing your videos, maybe I have to buy one more. AD200 or AD300. These villas I'm going to shoot are massive.
Nathan, would it be ok to start off in real estate photography with a Lumix G85 it is a mirrorless camera? I have a wide lens and I think it holds up okay for now. but I want to add at least one person before going out and spending 3,000 dollars for a full frame. mainly this is due to my budget. help will be greatly appreciated!
I have a question. I'm located in Greece. I wanna do real estate photography but I don't know how to find clients. Most of them ask for a portfolio but I don't have it. Nobody trusts me when I tell them that I have no portfolio. Also I live outside the capital so I need a 3 hour drive to get there. I have only shot a friend's house a few months ago and the results were awesome. He only had reservations in the summer and he told me recently that the whole month of November he was fully booked. Everybody was amazed by the photos!!! Thanks Nathan!!! I'm trying to find clients in the Greek islands. This is where there is a need but I don't know how to get the jobs!

Thanks Nathan, a nice reminder of learning how to learn.
You're very welcome!
As always, excellent advice. Keep up the great work!

You're welcome! I do all my work with the same setups I teach in my books and courses, nothing different for any other property.
A lot of really great information there. Thanks so much.
You're very welcome! Glad you liked the video.

Yes, I always use flambient for STRs. You can control the amount of ambient by just adding more of its luminance where you want.

Knowing "why" is more important than "what", so I think you'd benefit from downloading my e-book on this at amzn.to/4gjGk4H
