There is a mountain in the Himalayas, called Nanga Parbat = naked mountain. The stone is different from what is found in the surrounding area. Scientists believe NP is an island that got trapped between colliding India and Asia plates and was thrust into the air. NP is at the junction of the 2 plates.
I think it is the fastest growing(height-wise) mountain in the world which is set to go higher than Mt. Everest in 200k years.

That is why western countries are always annoyed with India because we are a country with civilization. Indus civilization is more than 5000 years old. The two oldest languages of the world which are 5000 years old are Tamil and Sanskrit. Our country was looted by Muslims for several hundred years and by Christians for two hundred years but still they could not destroy our civilization and culture. Because our religion is Sanatan, it can never be destroyed. I am proud that I am from India. Nalanda and Takshila are the oldest universities of the world where people from all over the world used to come to study. Nalanda University was burnt down by the Muslim invader Khilji. There were so many books in it that they kept burning for more than 2 months. When Muslims and Christians felt that Hindu religion is much better and more scientific than their religion, then they started trying to break our religion from within. They destroyed 40,000 of our temples but still our religion stands strong today because no one can destroy our religion.

People don't know that word "Gond" in Gondwanaland is taken from a tribe living in central BHARAT (India) who are called as Gonds.
There is a place in Maharashtra called Gondia which is at the border with MP. Maybe that is how it got its name.

I learnt more after finishing school, and RUclips was helpful.
I remember our teacher covering plate tectonics in 7th grade for about a week or two.. I was so fascinated by it. Then I never heard about it again until I got out of school and did my own research lol.
Learned this in grade 3. I was eight. You could always just be curious and look into shit on your own.
It is Himalaya in Sanskrit. Himá (Cold/Snow) + Aalaya (House/Dwelling)=Himā-laya (Abode of Snow)

But The North and South poles would still remain the same even if you obliterate entire Indian continent off the Face of the Earth Because Both Poles has nothing to do with Equatorial borders and our Earth's magnetic field mostly originate from them
The Northern lights is seen as one of the examples of it
So yes Indian Subcontinent is not responsible for ENTIRE World's climate change

I think people are misunderstanding a bit here. Climate and other things were already there before the collision. Its just that the collision, because it was so powerful, it made the existing climate change much more and cross the threshold for being capable of having life in its present form as we know.
And along with this collision, which resulted in The Great Himalayas, there were other two factors which were responsible for creating habitable environment for present life form. Those were The great Sahara desert and The Great Amazon forest.
These 3 combining can be regarded as the source of creating environment to accommodate present life form.
Subcontinent collision holds special value because of its fascinating nature. The travel and picking up of all the ingredients and the sheer energy it held inside it.
So India was once a island continent and was cut-off from the word for millions of years!😳

I was wondering why the Indian plate moved so quickly, so I searched and found this video. You explained it perfectly. However, I had to pause and comment at around 4:20 (HA!) just to tell you this.

Its ancient name is 'Bharat'. India name is based on Indus valley civilization (Indus - India). The river - Indus/Sindh/Hind are the same.
