YES! i finally found a naturalista that has a similar hair texture. I feel that its important because some hair tips don't work for me simply because i have a different hair texture :/

Curly/kinky hair is a full time job. I wish I had time and patience for mine
hair still looked good to me even after the roots got a little puffy, you still had a lot of definition.
The bobbi pin for the roots idea is fantastic I will definitely be doing that.
Oh my goodness, I have always been struggling with poofy edges whenever I would wash and dry my hair. I'm ready to wear my hair natural more often, but never knew how to handle that problem.
You have opened my eyes. I am so gonna try that 'pinning down' technique.
Thanks!
Love the Bobby pin idea to keep the roots flat. Thanks!
I loooooove your hair. It's like a blank canvas just waiting for you to work your magic on it. Beautiful. You don't limit yourself with it and are definitely not afraid to cut it. Love it x
It looked very good in the beginning,
but even better towards the end ( 4 day hair)
I took notes and I'm definitely going to try this method
the next time I do a wash n go. Thanks, great vid!
I think your Day 4 hair still looks really cute. :)
The Mind Of B Me too!! 😊
this has been the most informative hair tutorial that I have ever seen for one simple reason: now I finally know my hair type I have and the styles and products that will work on it via seeing it on you. It doesn't seem like much, but just seeing someone with the same hair type as your own and styling their hair and achieving things that you weren't sure you would be able to try is a real confidence booster. Thank you 💖
India, your breakdown method has revolutionized my life, but in particular it has given my wash n go new life. I went around some naturalistas yesterday who have seen me in the earlier days of my natural journey and they said my hair looks better than it ever has. Thank you for sharing your hair life with us!
I LOVE your hair. I cannot wait for my natural hair to grow fully out so I can have my hair like this :)
I’m soooo glad I found this video. Out of the many natural videos I’ve been watching I think your hair type is the closest to mine. When I would define my curls my roots also get puffy on top of shrinkage. The other videos I’ve seen, their hair was actually curly and not kinky so thank you for this soooo much
Thank you for shearing this I have my sisters wedding coming up nd my daughter is 6yrs old nd I don't like doin crazy things to her hair nd now I now wat to do thanks so much
i have had a natural hair style now for almost 2 years this October and i have just now learned to embrace my curls and i'm really into looking into great hair care products to bring the most out of my hair! i love the fact that you mention what hair products to get because i read this book by this guy named Andre who does Oprah's hair and I learned a lot about hair regimen and maintnance in that book, but i wish he would've mentioned some products!
Thank you SOO much for this video, I'm a new natural who has about neck length curly hair when wet. After that it puffs up quick, looking like I have little to no length. Almost every video is about naturals with long hair who want big frizzy hair. Thank you so much again.
The bobby pin idea was ingenious. The hair looks more polished for work day 4 hair would look great for a night on the town.
Seriously? 3 days? Your hair still looked awesome on the fourth day.
I've watched your videos before but now that I'm fully natural I watch them more. You are literally like my hair twin so your videos are very helpful to me, I have been so lost before this. I tried this method yesterday Christmas shopping and got a lot of compliments. Thank you :)
You and your hair is beautiful. I haven't had a relaxer in 9 months--you are inspiration to leave the relaxer alone.
ya'll! i i tried this on my awkward stage 4c hair without even knowing that India did a video on this! I did this on strestched hair and only defined the ends of my hair. I used warm heat, but I think I'll go with the cool setting now that i know that this method works! my coils also only lasted for about 3 days.
I need to do this ...my hair is mad thick-
Omg!! I wish i could get your hair texture and density!!! Im cursed with weaves and so ins for life! You have great hair girl!! So lucky!
The bobby pinning the roots is a game changer! Great idea!
I think you are the only one (so far) that I came across who uses Elasta QP feels like silk. I use that and I love it!! My roots puff up sometimes in certain areas of my head also; but I never thought to pin them down. My hair is not as long as your but I can get 5-6 day hair...Thank you so much for sharing!!!
I have watched this video in the last but am now able to appreciate it. I struggle with the puffy roots with defined, poppin' curls from just above mid to end shaft. Thanks!!
Your hair is so beautiful! The way you style it and carry yourself is inspiring. It's an honor to follow your channel.
At like 4:03 you could really see how the roots of your hair are dull and the middle to end are more shiny. Try using the curl enhancing moisturizing cream. It creates shine for your hair and reduces frizz.
I am really glad you did a recap. Not many videos show this. You kept me interested by doing that.
I'll have to try this! I rarely define my curls with product, but have been wanting to try it more. Thanks for this!
Beautiful! Thanks for this. I've been wondering what to do with my daughter's natural hair. Definitely trying this!
Oh my goodness for the longest time I've been looking for a hair twin on RUclips to figure out what to do with my hair because it's just sooo poofy and iDidn't even no my hair curled until recently by using certain products! I'm so glad I found you because now I have ideas of what to do with my hair when I go to college instead of just micros. Thanks so much! :D
I love that I found someone who have the same texture as me 😊 thank you!!!
I am home, mid week, on my day off. I wanted to find out how to stop my ends from knotting up.
To my wonderful surprise, google led me to you! (So happy) Your hair texture and the concerns you describe are exactly like mine (oh joy : ).
I stopped perming back in 2009 and began flat ironing. only to discover it was equally damaging. So, I stopped. The real natural journey began.
Today, you showed me how to control the knotting ends. I'll let you know how it worKs for my hair. Thanks : )
Hair type twin
I have always wanted to try a gel to define my curl pattern but I was unsure as to how to apply the gel. Thanks for demonstrating how to use gel to define curl patterns, I will use this method in the near future.
right!, this was good video not too long and not too short and very informative. I will never understand why people feel the need to leave unnecessary negative comments. just exit out and save those seconds from your life, if they even have one . I agree with you 100%
Ohhh great idea with the bobby pins, my roots are also often poofy. Thanks for this video. It is the first time I notice that you and I actually have very similar hair texture, porosity and pattern. It is always encouraging to be reminded that our hair can grow and it can be beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
We would love for you to post natural hair tutorials. Knowledge is power.
Oh this is so helpful! My hair has a similar texture, and does the SAME thing where the root is puffy and the bottoms are defined.
I swear I can sit and re watch your videos over and over! Your hair is so beautiful! :)
Wow, so glad you did this. My curls are very similar-- that S-shape. Bobby pinning the roots is a brilliant idea! Thanks for this
Yes! You've got those S shaped curls!!! Your hair looks very similar to mine, except mine is tighter in the front and looser as you go back and upwards. Thanks for the tip with the bobby pin!
my natural hair curl pattern is coiled just like yours! LOVE the tips! subscribed!!!!
It's cute, but I think you'll get better results if you use a diffuser to dry the hair.:-)
that bobby pin strategy is such a good tip, i wish i thought abt that before
Great seeing you on here again India, you and your sisters are such an inspiration to us all!!
Been wearing spring twists and braids. You're making me wanna wear my hair again. :)
I HAVE AN IMPORTANT QUESTION!! When you go to bed what do you do? Just put on a bonnet? Anything else? And when you wake up are you good to go or are there some things to re-add? Thanks in advance (:
You should spray it at night and put it in a very high bun and wrap it in a scarf and in the morning it should be a little damp so u should spray it again and then do what she did in the video
Feven Taye Thank you so much!!
Chelsy Emilús TUPAC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The top of my head is always puffy. Thanks again for the tip. I will use the big bobby bins next time. Love your hair and channel! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks 😊 for the info 👍 😀
I have 4c hair, I'm going to do the same thing!!!!
Beautiful! omg the bobbi pin idea is brilliant! I never thought of that! I will definitely try! Thanks!
I appreciate this video since I've been natural 2+ years now and I am just really starting to wear my own hair. It was short (bonus) and you got straight to the point. I'm too impatient to watch a 15mins video Lol Thank you!
THANK YOU FINALLY SOME ADVICE FROM SOMEONE WITH HAIR JUST LIKE MINE
Its always nice to see different variations of achieving a certain style. Thanks so much for this tutorial!!!
Thank you for this video because my hair near the scalp get puffy as well. And you just helped me with a technique on how to flatten the hair.
Oooh! My hair has a similar look to yours, I'm going to give this method a go! I'm newly natural- I big chopped a week ago today, so thanks for sharing, this is a big help!
hi my daughter hair is of this texture and has been begging me to texturize it. I am definitely going to try this on her so she will love her curls....thanks so much
how old is she
Finally! The most simple tutorial I've seen :) Thank you so much! Your hair is GORGEOUS!
I bought a can of mousse because I wanted to experiment with it and it was going ..hmm OK..lol but I didn't think to combine it with gel. the bobby pin idea is great too!
That's my weave in the picture... Got rid of it a couple of months ago, and need advice bad on my natural hair. I want to think of it as good hair. Thanks for the tips :)
Auugghhh, you curl pattern is just amaaazing!!!
I'm always looking for new ways to style my hair. Much appreciation for producing your videos.
Peace,
Yasmin
Wow, excellent move using the pins to pin down your hair. Love it!
wonderful, I'll be doing that to my daughter's hair.... Thanks for such great tips.
Your such a big hair I'm such a hair attic I think I relate to your hair slides show at the beginning of your video I love doing curly stuff with my hair but I lucked out and stop bc I thought 4a-4c could not achieve curly moisturized hair but I was so wrong we can thanks for the video I will definitely try this (:
Omg this looks great...my hair type is 4c but I'm gonna try this anyway! It looks sooo cute on day 3!
LOVE you Ladies! Could you each post in the description what your individual porosity and density is? It would be helpful with who I need to follow...thx Natural Sistas!
finally someone with my hair type!
thanks for the idea about using a bobby pin, because i would always like my ends but my roots would be puffy. great tutorials as always
The hair was still very pretty on day 4 :)
Oh my goodness, I'm so glad I found you! You're the first one I've seen with the same curl pattern as me!
Wow girl! Your day 4 hair even looks awesome!
I love the results also when I define my curls. Great idea using the hair pins! I also have the same problem with knots forming at the end of my hair! I think I will go back to doing more twist outs for winter. I did a lot of wash & goes for the summer.
Finally someone with a similar hair texture
Thank you for sharing. This is a big help. Never would have known how to keep it flat.
Great. I think my hair is most like yours so I have subscribed to you channel. Thanks so much for sharing your insight.
I'm so glad I happened to come across this video. It really helped me a lot.
I love it whenever I find someone who's hair matches mine!
Your hair looked really good on day 4!!! Thanks for the detailed tutorial.
I love wash in go's I will have to try this method for sure now! Love it thanks for sharing!
i love your hair!!!!!! It looks so good, can't wait until my hair gets to this length!
I'm thinking about doing this then pinning it up in a Mohawk adult. Thanks for the video!
Bobbi pins!!!! Why didn't I think of that??? Such a great tip!!!
I actually like the day 4 hair the best!!! Very pretty! I am going to try the bobby pin trick for sure!
OMG! The Bobbi pins are such a great idea!!!
I love your wash&go. I can't wait to try it this summer.
Great video! Thank you for the detailed and concise directions.
I like your hair, I'm newly natural and loving it
i hear you on the tight curl issue. i'm so tired of these tight coils, i'm thinking for relaxing again....just relaxing enough to stretch these tight curls out.
YoBootyStinks Add Aloe verA gel to your deep conditioner. It will define curls...
Thanks I will Epiphanie Always
YoBootyStinks BTW, make sure to add 1/2 the amount of oil to the Aloe to make sure your hair absorbs plenty of moisture, otherwise it will cause your hair to tangle and break due to the protein.
Thank you so much, your hair type looks like mine, 4b ish. This vid was amazing, defo going to try it out thanks a million x
Loved this! One of the simplest methods that I've seen... thanks! :)
