Now I do still hate this film, but besides the previous scene with Dante yelling at Randall, it was also satisfying to see Elias finally do the same thing too after Randall basically gives Dante a heart attack. It basically sums up everything WRONG with Kevin Smith in today’s world

"It's just a heart-attack, I had one, he'll be fine." Seriously, double fuck you Randal. If your not certified in the medical field, your in NO position to make that kind judgement. Along with firearms, heart attacks are one of the biggest leading causes of death in America. Randal got off lucky, but so many other people haven't been.
Yeah, in the end Dante also was NOT lucky like those many people who weren’t, and now Randall is gonna be living with the fact that he literally killed his own friend with his own selfish attitude
@@dong.corleone Absolutely, he really was responsible for Dante's death, so living with that, and without him the rest of his life is perfect punishment for Randal. And I am with Elias, I too use to look up to Randal in the 1st two movies, but in this one, he lost my respect. Also when Randal cried out "Don't leave me" as Dante passed, and the way he overcompensated showing Dante the movie, it signified everything. He never truly cared about Dante, he just used him to not be alone, and to make himself feel better. Just like Jerry always used George on Seinfeld.
@@roomie1120 that’s exactly why I pretend Clerks II was the true finale to the clerks storyline. For me the proper Clerks trilogy is Clerks 1, jay and silent bob strike back, and Clerks II. 3 is all just a nightmare Dante and Randall both had
I know what I would have said to Randall if I were Elias.
1. Notice how rude it was of Randall to interrupt that nurse who was aiding that patient.
2. When the security forced Randall out, notice their body language, like "Get outta here ya prick." And the nurse with the guards shaking her head like "what an asshole."
Randall: *concerned for his friend*
Hospital lady: GET THE FUCK OUTTA HERE MUH FUCKER!!
Yeah, that nurse pissed me off. He was worried as hell about his friend who was dying and the nurse treated him like a criminal
I know dude that lady pissed me off lol
Dante’s end was a bit depressing but on the other hand he did say all those years ago life is a series of down endings. Plus in a way he finally got his happy ending, he’s with Becky again. As far as Elias, as hard as it is to take him seriously when he’s in public looking like the lost member of KISS, the sheltered little dweeb finally grew some balls and he was absolutely right.
King diamond not kiss. It’s a reference to the king diamond song Jay and Randall sing to him in clerks 2.
It was I like the Clerks 2 end better. Of course the smart mouth Randall survives.
Then they should have just gave him a happy ending while she was alive instead of this depressing shit
I've haven't seen clerks 3 at all. So I have no context as to why Elias is dressed up like King diamond.
I'll give you the summarized version. Becky is killed off, and Dante dies. There, you don't need to watch this piece of crap. Stick with the first 2.
After Randall gets a heart attack, Elias stops believing in God and becomes a Satanist.
@@happygilmore5948Sounds funny in theory, but I imagine the film didn't live up to its premise.
@@aaronsarchive82 I personally liked the movie, but I know a lot of people didn't. It clearly had a much more depressing tone than the previous two and I think people weren't expecting that.
I’m jealous of you. I wish I hadn’t watched this movie.
This scene really made me like Elias even more as a character even more. The kind of guy who never swore and acted like a suck up to Randal, because he’s been around him long enough to know that deep down Randal is vulnerable and has a heart.
@James Haggerty Yeah, it was very epic to see even Elias grow a spine here. Even in this scene he was being a WAY BETTER friend to Dante in this scene then Randall ever was in this whole movie
1:25 One of the best line deliveries in the movie lol
Everyone was thinking it at this part 😂
I think I know why we like sad songs, sad movies, and basically just things that make us sad. We're not alone. It reminds us that we are NOT alone in our pain. Or I've had too many beers either or.
I agree that's why I like relatable films.
Why not both? Cheers mate 🍻
I’ll drink to that
I always saw Randal as the worst best friend in the world. But I don't think he's heartless. No pun intended. In Clerks 1, even after he got beaten up by Dante, he cleaned the Quick Stop with him. That's nice. Most friends would have not been forgiving and just leave them after a fight. In Clerks 2, when him and Dante were in prison, he told Dante he should be with Becky and not be with Emma and leave town. And he even begged him to stay because he was his best friend. I felt sad when he said that. And here in Clerks 3, he showed Dante his movie and it was always about Dante. And Kevin Smith fooled the audience to believe it was all about Randal but in the end, Randal loves Dante. He was someone he looked up to. To me, even the worst people in the world are not heartless and Randal is a good example of it.
That was so beautiful put a tear in my eye 😂
in the OG of clerks 1, he was in on it with the guy who killed dante. he was never his friend, he was just a mark for him. kevin just changed the movie because he wanted everyone to be more likable.
At least Elias looks like king diamond now.
And to think that the last thing that Dante had said to Randall before his death was that he is officially done with Randall as his best friend for the rest of his life.
Well, randall does deserve it being the shifty friend that he is.
Yup....screw you Randal indeed. The fact that he had the audacity to say, "It's just a heart-attack, I had one, he'll be fine." And, is more focused on making his movie while the whole time Dante is suffering emotionally after losing Becky and his baby shows how much of a self-centered punk he is. And it didn't take Dante's -- his BEST FRIEND -- snapping rant to realize this, but had to hear it from Elias.
That whole reason alone is exactly why I fuckin hated Randall in this movie. He only realized it because his friend got him the money for his shitty version of CLERKS 1, and when he goes into the hospital to see him, he doesn’t even bother apologizing to Dante for his selfishness, instead he literally shows him the very movie Dante hated making but now it’s edited to have him be the lead. Dante ended up succumbing to his heart attack afterwards and now Randall is gonna be haunted by his own behaviour for life
I don't buy Randal being this shitty towards Dante. Yeah he is an asshole but when they were in jail in the second movie they really bonded and I hate to see Kevin Smith kind of forgot about that scene. I wanted to see Dante and Randall actually have somewhat of a happy ending lol
@DameK1895 Me neither, and the only reason he stops being shitty is because he found out Dante got him the money for his pile of shit movie
@@dong.corleone that's what makes him a complete jerk.
Really, I don't understand why Randall was being such a jackass to Dante. Why would he call Dante the Dak? I liked the movie, but it seems like it was just written that way so he could change his mind.
Well I think the fact Becky was written out by being killed off, is pretty mean spirited considering the series was mostly a comedy, they were happy by the end of 2 and the writing team are just like "we should kill her for realism". And then Dante dying at the end, man what a depressing way to end the series. I know sometimes this kind of realism is added in to give the audience a bit of a wake up call, I mean yeah we all get older and eventually we have to grow up and face our mortality, but I've seen similar movies with the same theme that are written more tastefully.
@@Lava91point0your right
Randal was the reason for Dante death, which is a fact. Now he realized that being the worst best friend is what dragged Dante down. And to his lowest, but Dante also being the true friend, and had a happy life lost his love and daughter because of a drunk driver
Ikr! That's why this movie sucks!
Elias.. even as a devil worshipper hes still a pretty good guy.
this was the first time a movie actually made me cry
Jesus Christ why are they so unwelcome at the ER? They kept kicking them out of there XD
Agreed. That part was dumb af and kinda undercut the great little scene they had with Randal and Elias. It didn’t even really make sense imo. First they kick him out despite already being made aware of his relation to Dante and why he’d even approach him the way he did, then Elias asks him where he’s going after that, like… did you not even SEE or HEAR what just happened? He just got kicked out ffs what do you mean where’s he going??? Lol I’m sorry but that specific part was frustrating to watch
Truly just wtf Randal was afraid about Dante and that bitch nurse completed called the security of them wtf
They were back in the patient area, not the waiting room.
@@alfax still they were worried about about Dante
@ntinosaggelopoulos6718 I don't disagree but the question was why weren't they welcome
Although his voice has changed somewhat, Randal has aged like fine wine.
In my opinion they all did! But agreed I’ve got a fat man crush on Jeff
No,he hasn't
Randal will always be hot.
There is a Clerks 3?
I had no idea
it isn’t worth watching.
Anyone who says they hated Clerks 3 kinda missed the point here. Because *THAT IS THE REALITY OF THINGS WE DEAL WITH IN LIFE!*
This isn't Disney Marvel, this isn't Warner DC, Scott Pilgrim-verse or The Fast Saga. This is how Kevin Smith perceived the real world.
I too perceived the real world, as a world full of people who REALLY can't drive racecars to save their lives, their families and their rep from my characters who are able to do just that since their teens.
Remember: some things can't be helped. Some people too.
I strongly disagree with you
Didn't Harry Dean Stanton quote that at the end of Christine? The last thing you said in your comment.
@@zirconviper Yeah. Fate can be that cruel.
@@598superchris second that.
@@zirconviper I love your name
Randall ended up being a truly terrible scumbag of a friend
he always was
Gosh this movie was depressing, although I liked the happy ending with Dante and Becky together again, it makes me wonder if Randall and Elias will work at Quickstop for the rest of their lives…
Kevin Smith stated Randall is still making movies while working at the store till he's 90.
1:57 This is one of the lines in the movie I don’t get because even in the first Clerks, Randal isn’t wearing a mask that’s just the way he is. He doesn’t have to try to be somebody else because being a mocking asshole comes so naturally to him that’s who he is.
I think Elias is getting at the fact that Randal tends to latch on to this pathological sort of apathy whenever things get rough. It’s like a mask of flippancy. your comment kinda proves this, too; he’s done such a good job at keeping up that masquerade that everyone (including the viewer) falls for it.
It seems Randal’s trying to convince himself that Dante will be okay regardless (“It’s just a heart attack- I had one, he’ll be fine”). He can’t comprehend any scenario where something awful actually happens to Dante, mostly because that’s something so unsettling to Randal he won’t even consider it an option. Without his ego and mockery, he’s no longer this witty guy who has a convoluted comeback for everything- he’s just an apparent loser who skates through life without meaning and is terrified of losing the one constant he’s always had (Dante). P.S. my bad I got too much free time to psychoanalyze these characters lol
@@transient3858 do you live on government welfare?
@@598superchrisNo sir. What’s the correlation?
while alias also wears a mask literally. lol
This is when Elias became a man
I was never rude like that to people ,when I worked as an emergency room nurse. For the record, I worked at a tough urban County Hospital . Dealt with tough nasty people and got tough when I had to.
It is a movie but nice.
Respect
Randall graves's haircut sucks he really needs to get a haircut because the 80s and 90s called they need their hairstyle back😂
Like modern hairstyles are any better.
that’s the whole point, he’s a guy who hasn’t grown up since the 80s and 90s
That's why it works he's stuck in Gen X
Dante’s ex-wife who hates his gut. Made a deal by putting up his convenient store for collateral. Just to get the money for Randall to make his stupid movie. If it wasn’t for Randall’s omnipotent-impractical-egotistical behavior. He would’ve learn to see the air of his ways and better himself.
Error. Error of his ways
@@brutallyhonest123 Thanks for correcting me.
I watched it today even though it gets a bit sad in some places however its a part of life.
Just watching the second one now to remember the goodtimes with them 2.
Funny how Randall's getting criticized for the same thing he criticized Dante back in the first movie.
I’ve watched this movies 5 times and I don’t remember this lol
Randall is the kid who peaked in high school/college and never grew out of it, but looks down on others like he’s actually done something with his life
I don’t remember Randal being this uncaring towards Dante
One of the things I hate most about this movie is that it seemed to undo a lot of development Randall went through in Clerks II. This isn't the guy from the end of that movie. He's regressed back into the person he was at the beginning.
Hes dressed like King Diamond of Merciful Fate
That nurse is definitely in the wrong job. She has the people skills of Michael Myers!
This scene comes across too contrived. How does Randall go from his YOU'RE MY BEST FRIEND AND I LOVE YOU in jail in CLERKS II...to basically NOT GIVE A FUCK at the hospital part deux when it's Dante that's now had the heart attack. Both characters have heart attacks. One makes a movie from it and the other dies to join his family THEREAFTER.
The ending hit me hard, mainly cause I gone through this before I saw the movie. I wasn’t expecting the ending and it made me sad.
I felt sad they killed off Dante. It reminds me of Paul Walker. I loved Dante. Well the character is in a better place now
This is one of the only 2 scenes of the movie that I like; this and where Dante argues with Randal.
@CT Dawg Yeah but Randall finding out that Dante got him the money for his dumb movie from Emma should not have been the thing that made Randall realize his selfishness, that should have happened the minute Dante collapsed
@@dong.corleone I know, right! Randall was a completely selfish asshole in this movie. I think that the only scene of this film is the scene that comes before this scene. I HATE the ending to this movie!
Kevin Smith doesn't get enough credit when writing raw scenes like this.
@@MrXabunglehe doesn't deserve any
This movie was....interesting
Bro Randall don't sound like the same Randall we used to know
Even now what?!😂😂😂😂😂
I know how Elias is feeling in this scene with arguing with Randall because Randall is a very toxic person to be around because he’s always taking advantage of other peoples kindness and having people do things for him like there’s a deleted scene where Dante says I think with the left your own devices, you can’t get anything done by yourself because you’re the laziest motherfucker right now And then Randall continues to argue with him until Dante says I’m the asshole who had to get on his hands and knees and beg for money so you can make your magnum opus on how awesome you are and how the rest of the world sucks and Randal made the face expression says I didn’t know that giving the impression that Dante said something to Randal that Randall couldn’t argue with or throw back at him and I relate to what Elias is going through in the scene trying to argue with Randall Elias is right when he says Randall should forget about making the movie and worry about your best friend and wonder if he’s gonna be OK or not and don’t make any kind of judgments on if he’s gonna be OK or not, and you should give them credit for help you make the film because until Elias tells Randall had gotten the money especially from Emma and Dante and Elias and Blockchain should’ve gotten away from Randall because he’s a very toxic person in this film.
Why's Elias dressed like Sting at a funeral?
Elias put on a ton of weight
I really enjoyed the film although it was a bit of a downer in the end admittedly.
That’s what life is; a series of down endings
@@Nikolaos0603 yup. He said it best.
@@Nikolaos0603 Ok, go back and watch Clerks, Mallrats, Jay and Silent Bob strike back, and Clerks 2, in that order. And tell me this piece of sht is in the same universe, please. I mean, to be fair, it's 2023, comedy isn't really comedy anymore, I wasn't expecting it to be great.

What sucks is Randall should have been the one that died of a heart attack NOT Dante!
