Can we talk about how Yamamoto’s lieutenant, Chojiro hid under a bunch of bodies to get the drop on Yhwach for Yamamoto to deal the finishing blow in the past? I imagine Yhwach must’ve thought, “If I survive this, you’ll be the first one to die.”
Also, manga readers be like "Oh, so that's how they dealt with that monster 1000 years ago ? Legit that they had to backstab him", and on top of that with court 2 we know he couldn't use you know what because you know who sealed it by giving him you also know what (making great efforts to avoid spoilers here)

Everyone jumps to the literal meaning of son.
I mean symbolic meaning of words are more often used in Japanese, Korean, Chinese culture, esp Chinese culture.
Western culture media don't really do that often and those that do, aren't really that popular.

I love how well the element of PURE DESPAIR is conveyed through the end of Episode 3 to Episode 7. The anime took it to a whole another level

@@Kumoii They show his arm cut off and his chest carved open, so not sure what you're talking about. I mean it would be sadistically excessive to show his guts spilling out, and even then what was shown in the anime is the same level of gore in the manga.

To clear up a few things; what you saw in the beginning was the first generation of the Gotei 13 over 1,000 years ago. Fun fact, they didn't actually appear in the manga, Kubo drew those unique designs (and gave them names) just for the anime.
Ichigo's Bankai broke so easily because it was put under so much stress trying to break Quilge's jail; hence why it was chipped and scratched so much when Ichigo broke out. That and Hashwalth is certainly not weak himself.
It may be a minor spoiler, but to clarify, Yhwach calling Ichigo his "son" shouldn't be taken literally. He considers all Quincy his "children" like how a priest calls someone of his church "my child". Still doesn't stop Yhwach from considering them expendable if they aren't strong enough.
Something noteworthy that many people miss is how big of a deal it is that Yamamoto didn't ask Orihime to regenerate his arm. We have many reasons to belive that any serious injury not properly treated will weaken the individual beyond simply the handicap caused by said injury. Remerber Grimjow was straight up banned from the Espada for loosing an arm, not just demoted among them, I'm pretty sure even a one-armed Grimjow is stronger than (unreleased) Yami, Aaroniero and maybe even Szayelaporro, not only that, after getting his arm back he says, and I quote "My power is back", clearly suggesting he lost way more than just an arm.
All that just to say loosing an arm seems to be a much bigger deal than, well... no longer having said arm.

The good thing about Bleach is that every plot twist has evidence from the beginning of the anime, so all of Ichigo's hybridity is planned from the beginning.

Aizen along with fused with the Hogyoku is also fused with kyoka suigetsu which is how yhwach's perception of time had been altered, also Yamamoto had been a very careful and strategic shinigami for well over 1,000 years but having sasakibe killed made every carefulness and strategic he had go out the window as well as his leadership his mind was consumed by rage and anger to have been fighting on the frontlines
Ichigo being Quincy was foreshadowed from the 1st episode of Bleach, where Rukia was sharing a part of her shinigami power but Ichigo took all of it.

Yhwach did "die". The problem is he resurrected himself. Yhwach's main thing is sharing his bits of his soul - giving them to people created Quincy and he can absorb them to restore himself. It's literally in the Prophecy "After nine hundred years, the Sealed Quincy King shall recover his heartbeat. After ninety years, he shall recover his intellect. After nine years, he shall recover his power. And over nine days, he shall recover the world."
Anytime I see the part where Aizen deceives Yhwach while still sealed and thus indirectly saving Ichigo always makes me chuckle.

[Tidbits and Extras]
- Remember back when Aizen was talking to Ichigo, he was about to tell him why he was watching him since birth, but then Isshin intentionally cut him off, this is why. (Also why Yhwach says "Enemy?" as if he doesn't view Ichigo in that way) - If you go to the very first episode of Bleach, you'll notice that Ichigo's bed sheet is a Quincy Cross, pretty cool foreshadowing so early on.
- Ichigo not being able to help during the attack is another directly setup concept, always remember that his biggest trauma was his inability to protect him mother, that's why he's always so focused on protecting his loved ones, and here he relieves that feeling...complete helplessness, and fittingly enough his mother's saves him again just like when he was a kid (Tho this time it's through her blood)
- As I'm sure many will have informed you, Ichigo is still Isshin's son, Yhwach is the Quincy King, father of all Quincies, not Ichigo's actual dad.
- Some argue that the normal Shinigami seem too weak, it's less so that they are weak and more so that they were unprepared. For hundreds of years they've hand no real enemies to fight aside from basic hollows. They Quincy are a Military Force with equal might and in this case they've been waiting and preparing the entire time.
- If you go to the very first episode of Bleach, you'll notice that Ichigo's bed sheet is a Quincy Cross.
The appearance of the original 13 captains in this episode was a gift from kubo. They were never shown in the manga. Seeing them for the first time was a hype moment.

In the first chapter, Ichigo takes all of Rukia's power, although she was only going to give it a little.

"my son born in the dark" don't forget Yhwach is the king of quincies and he considers his quincies's soldiers like his ''sons''. the sentence would say that Ichigo doesn't know about his family and he knows nothing about his nature. Later you will know about Ichigo and his mother, father.
Listen carefully what characters are saying, some of them say important things for the future and can give you hints for later

The clone he fought in the previous episode wasn't the same strength as Ywatch and wasn't there to wear down the head captain. He was there solely to distract from the meeting with Aizen because if Aizen joined the enemies they would have had a sure win

I remember someone I can't remember who when the chapter came out said having all three if you think about would make him a true reaper. Just imagine Ichigo wearing the black robes of a shinigami. Then the skull mask of a hollow add in the wings of a quincy. You have the Western version of the grim reaper not to mention how all three powers would work together.
All quincy were once human. Yamamoto killed him as a human and then he became a soul. Like uryu is a human quincy, if he were to die, he would be sent to soul society with his powers.
Aizen knowed Ichigo was a Quincy and when he was going to tell him ("you are a human and a ...") Ishin interrupted him

The episode is full of layers and information, covering everything that happened between chapters 511-514 of the manga. Even so, the staff's creativity spoke louder and we got additional ORIGINAL scenes from the anime! Having the author of the work himself participating in the adaptation has its advantages 😉👏
*YHWACH'S FIRST INVASION*
Yes! None of that is in the manga! ANYTHING! Everything was designed by Tite Kubo to appear in the anime. In conjunction with the episode, we had the reveal of the names and art of the Gotei Original in the January 2023 issue of Saikyo Jump magazine (Beautiful edition! I bought it as soon as it was released. The art of the Gotei Original is a triple poster!!!).
*THE BATTLE BETWEEN ICHIGO AND YHWACH*
Believe it or not, the first moment of the battle between the two is not in the manga! It starts in the part where Ichigo launches a Getsuga Tenshou and Yhwach cauterizes it, throwing his sword at Ichigo's neck. Merits to animator Yoshihiro Kanno! (You may know his work. After all, he composed and corrected most of the battle scenes in Solo Leveling)
The Quincy Imprisonment Technique "Qualkreis" is also not part of the manga it is ALL original to the anime!

One more piece of information: The answer to Yhwach's speech: "My son, born in darkness", will come to an end in the exciting Episode 12 of this adaptation!

The Subtle sounds of Bleach are what make it soooo good, there are Unique Sounds for each of the Races and their powers. What makes Bleach sooo good is that its never just random, theres a reason for EVERYTHING. Ichigo was tapping into his Hollow Powers VERY much when he was trapped and freed from that Jail. He was using the Pesquesa the Espada used to detect Spiritual Pressure, and he used Sonido when he went to Byakuya(His Spiritual Pressure disappeared when he moved, while Flash Step and Hirenyaku are more just High Speed movement) plus that sublte Bass reverb when Sonido is used 👌
12:48 not because he is weakened. but because Haschwalth is way too strong for the current Ichigo right now.
His zanpakuto is in pretty bad shape due to his fight with yhwach
Yeah, not surprising for most ppl, I'm sure for alot of first timers, they would think so that it's because Ichigo is weakened and his blade is in extremely bad condition. It couldn't Withstand all the constant heavy spiritual pressure clash in that short span of time

This episode was very good, full of revelations, and bizarre that from the beginning there are hints that, perhaps very discreetly but there are, that Ichigo had quincy power. And King Quincy's speech to "my son" causes shock, this season will still show what happened, without spoilers 🤫

I love it so much, that they included the first Gotei 13 into the anime. They were such badass criminals. And I hope that the only reason for the new manga arc, is to bring back this criminals to fight them.
Guys, you may not remember this but back in the arrancar arc, when Ichigo arived in Karakura town, Aizen was about to tell Ichigo that he's part quincy but then his dad showed up and interrupted Aizen and told him he talks too much
In the beginning it was OG gotei 13 way back 1000years ago when Yamamoto was in his peak young days alongside with crazy strong og, kubo cooked this! also Ichigo vs Yhwach wasn't in the manga it was ANIME ONLY scene which was 10/10 (animation, Choreography, music+every thing)...!

Ichigo, is not weaken, just weak. That is all this series is about. Ichigo got his ass kicked and his face used as a mop and then he comes back stronger. Yamamoto did win, he was fighting a guy who could mimic little of Yhwach's power. Yhmach said himself, that even if Yamamoto was 100% with both arms, he would have lost. He even mocks him for not having come into a war fully prepared since he didn't want to use Orihime's power out of pure pride since he didn't want to have the help of humans since it was a Shinigami/Quinch war.
Aizen is definitely a savage. Being able to mess with Yhwach while sealed. As you noticed, the quincies have this ranking of people who they call Special Threats. There are only 5. Ichigo, Aizen, and Kenpachi are the only mentioned so far. The other 2 will be revealed later.
Guess I’m not spoiling anything but. All Quincies are “Yuha’s” children, due to his blood running in their veins somehow. Born in the dark just refers to Ichigo being the quincy Yuha didn’t plan for.

this scene when byakuya says "please protect soul society" it always gives me chills. it reminds me of the demon slayer season 1 episode 19 scene when nezuko's mother says to her please wake up or your brother will be killed too.

Yhwach overall way way stronger then peak Yamamoto. The thing is Yhwach 1000 years ago was weakened and didnt have some of his key powers. He died. Thats why in the beginning of the show you hear about confined Quincy king regains his pulse after 900 years, his mind after 90 years, his strength after 9 years and...well there is more...How he resurected? Well it will be revealed later towards the end of show
In a battle the winner is the one who still standing/alive.
Especially this is a war, they will do anything and use any means to win. Also the quincies hold a grudge against the soul reapers so they want revenge

Honor duels have no place in war. The Quincies are fighting a war while the Shinigami are clinging to their usual modus operandi. Yamamoto lost because Yhwach was the superior commander.

Why he called son : Yhwach is the father of all quincies, every quincy has a portion of Yhwach's powers .... since ichigo is also a Quincy , Yhwach sees all quincies as his sons
by "son" he means a "quincy" . yhwach considers all quincies as his children.
When Yhwach said "my son in the dark" maybe because Ichigo is not directly his son (because of his quincy powers) and he's a Shinigami with black clothes for the term "in the dark" and Quincies wears white clothes.
It's all symbolic...
"My son" in the same way that catholics go to church and pray "Our Father"... We even saw in the "story" of how Yhwach came to be that he sees himself as some sort of deity himself.
Born in the dark, not because of the clothes... Because Ichigo was born and raised in a metaphorical darkness about who he is.

Let me explain it for you. The stenritter Y “the your self” is actually made by two twins: L Lloyd and R Rroyd. The one who fought kenpachi was Lloyd and his power condor in coping exactly the target power and appearance . So kenpachi fought against is copy in therm of power.
Yamamoto was fighting against Rroyd, his power copy the appearance and the memory of the target, not the powers. So Yamamoto was fighting someone who loocked and act like the real Yhwach but not powerful as him.

Yes when i seen the episodes first time, i was too excited.. the animation Is crazy, the Blood Is , everything aggressive.. Kira Is death, that surprised me, cause in a saga where there was a substitute captain (to replace Gin) , Kira had a cool story etc..
Its a very nice show.. maybe for someone there are more episodes, more caracters and i think they not have patience to Watch over 300 episodes.. but man, bleach become your fantasy world, knowing all the fighters, they become your fantasy Friends, i dont know how to explain.. but im sure you understand 😅
