I tore my mother in laws machine apart as it seemed to be the pump! 3 hours later I found your video. Thanks monroe for the tutorial, that seal is quite the trap! It falls off too easily and is not an intuitive design. You are most helpful. 😊
I have this model and was pleased to learn how to deal with this part when I need to remove the water bag… attention to detail is so important when taking equipment apart!
Subject- quick gromet tip. First things first I'm glad I found your channel. You do a good job at explaining things and you're to the point. I wanted to suggest Flipping The Grommet inside out when installing it, make sure your lip is on the inside of the resivour hole, then flip the rest of the grommet right side out over the side walls of said resivour drain hole thingy. Anyways keep up the good work, I'll be seeing you around. Church
My revolution pet pro 2x isn't dispersing water from the trigger, I checked the handle, thanks to your video ☺️ it seems to be fine so is there something that's suppose to hit the bottom of the water tank that dispenses the water? Nothing moves, when I press the trigger, where the water tank would sit, please help
Try the trigger again this time add some resistance to the rod in the handle. This will definitively eliminate the handle from the equation. If you press up against the rod while squeezing the trigger and it doesn't move then you know that the is the problem. But if the rod push against your finger the you need to look at other factors. The auto receiver, the pump, the pump belt
THANK YOU, Thank You!! 😁 I believe you have helped me. Think I need to get a new gasket 🤔. We do have the pet pro (looks like your purple one in the vid). Thank you for explaining all that did! Thank you for sharing so many helpful tips/tricks & how to's. You're such a blessing 🙌!!
Thank you for great channel. I took the entire nozzle off as it was coming loose at the bottom of the bottle. It was glued in. I need to glue it back. Do you know what glue I should use?
I have the same issue . The whole bottom fitting of clean water tank (pet pro and revolution. Model number 1986) came off. It just fell off. There seems to be a very lightweight o-ring between the fitting and the hole, but sure didn't keep the water in. Should I glue it and if so what kind?
The problem for the Pet Pro tank/seal is that they don't sell just the seal - have to buy the whole $35 tank.....and.....the whole tank (part 1610043) has been out of stock for MONTHS. I think my seals got deformed from using water that was too hot - so I am paying the price... Can imagine how they would let such a critical part be out of stock for months.
@@WilliamWeekley-e8u the user guide does have a number in it, like 140° I think. I used a digital thermometer and hours was getting up there I'm afraid. Now I have a sign to remind me not to do that again! The part is still on backorder, incredibly enough. I always buy a backup tank - both kinds.
I have the opposite problem... as soon as I pull the trigger on my Bissell 3071C, the water starts flowing, and doesn't stop anymore until the tank is empty. Any thoughts?
There are two possibilities that I can think of right now. It’s either the reservoir or the rod in the handle that’s connected to the trigger. Both of those can be stuck in the on position. I will release a video explaining my solution in better detail. Stay tuned
Wayne on mine the black plunger on the clean water tank on the orange version you have does not stop water from coming out. Didn't use it for a couple of years due to cracks in the tank so I think the rubber seal inside the plunger is bad now.
Aha! Thank you for making this video. The other vids available didn't offer a closeup. Your vid is clear and top-notch. My SIL gave me her Bissell Model 4900-W. It's missing the parts with those gaskets... that's why the water just flows right out of the bladder as I'm filling it in the sink. Sigh. The carpet won't be cleaned anytime soon.
Sounds like the Auto receiver is broken ( sits below the tank when you place it on the machine) but to be sure you should take it into a local approved Bissell service center for warranty service
I’m desperately trying to figure out how to put my new bladder in my bissell project 2x 1383 and I can’t find how to anywhere! It’s leaking into the dirty tank but I’m not sure how to attach the bladder correctly
Im so glad i found your videos! I have one kind of like the purple one in the background, but with one brush versus two. I have everything ready to go, put the tank full of water/soap on, then when i go to turn it on and use it....theres just a giant puddle under the machine. I really dont want to buy another machine. Its the second one in 3 years!
its possible that the water release botton is damaged. Also possible that there is a crack in the plastic. First thing is to identify where the leak is coming from. I recommend using the warranty if it still applies. If not replace the tank, there's currently no fix for the release button.
Hey you are the ONLY thing I have found addressing this specific location on the Clean Water Tank. So my red gasket is fine. The plastic mount of the nozzle sticking down is popping off. Does it screw on, it seems to have a white waxy substance in it that appears to have melted...?? is that replaceable?
@@monroevac hey thanks for responding so quickly! yes the clean water tank [top tank] on the 1548F black and orange BISSELL ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet. The small clear plastic nozzle on the bottom of the tank that the red gasket fits onto ... its connection to the tank has a white waxy substance that has melted and water comes around the fitting and/or it sometimes comes off and stays gasketed sitting in the receptor. I was wondering if there is replacement "goop" for that fitting or if Plumbers Putty might work.... rather than buying a whole 40 dollar tank.
Ok, great info. The tank comes as a whole. That part cannot be purchased. I would only try the puffy for the joy and curiosity of experimenting. The tank is designed to fit exact and any extra surface would cause it to not sit properly. I would try a used tank first possibly eBay. But it looks like replacing it is best.
Question the little tank you put the cleaning solution in. When you place into the carpet cleaner, the little tube inside the tank is now upside down. And the more you use the solution, nothing is going into that tube. I’m I loosing it or what. Thanks.
Without seeing the tank Im limited on what I can advise. From my experience the main reason a water tank suddenly stops fitting correctly is due to warping. Possible heat from boiling hot water. Can also be from a hot storage barn
You had my Proheat 2' Revolution pet in your hand at end and the bottom of the dirty tank in your hand is what I needed help with so I was screaming tell me what is wrong but you said I don't know what she is talking about but you did not turn it over.😅😡😡😁😁😅😛
For me the leak is coming from the litte black piece inside. The clean water isn't being held in correctly. The spring loaded press as you called it. I'd love to see your artwork
The Bissell Revolution gasket isn't sold separately you would need to replace the tank. Most of the newer Bissell shampooers are made that way now. Find a tank here> www.monroevacuums.com/product/tank-clean-tank-assembly/1183?cp=true&sa=false&sbp=false&q=true
May you help me. I have the orange one, how can I replace it? Every time I put water in it automatically drains from the bottom through the hole. How do I make it keep water in?
I have the purple model you show, the pet pro, and the plunger valve you show in a close up at 6:36 isn't being depressed deep enough to let the detergent water flow out when the tank is siting in place and the trigger is pulled during the wet strokes. If I press down on the tank firmly while pulling the trigger, the detergent flows as it should. Any ideas how to get the tank to seat properly so that the vlave is depressed enough to allow flow? Thanks! Appreciate showing the details so clearly to the camera!
My best guess is that the tank needs replacing. I’ve wrestled with the same issue and found that the tank was the problem. I have a video in the Bissell tips playlist that show a step by step examination of this about the leaking tank
@@celsojr.sanada7621 I contacted Bissell & they blamed it on subtle plastic housing deformation as a consequence of heat. Their default assumption is filling the reservoir with too hot water, which I know I didn't do. But I did have the unit in the back of the van on a couple of hot summer days, which might've been a heat source if heat was the culprit. Ultimately they shipped me a replacement reservoir kit under warranty which seated properly. I'm pretty sure that a replacement reservoir can be purchased out of warranty if needed.
hmm if replacing the knob doesn't work then I would suggest replacing the tank. Water leaks in tanks often return after patching or gluing if the tank itself is the problem
Good video I just did like you said and replaced the tank from Amazon. I notice once I fill it up the water would be going down even if I wasn’t pressing the trigger for the water. I assumed it was the gasket before I found your video. So I just went ahead a replace the top tank just to rule out the gasket. Now if the new one loses water quick then I would know it’s another issue. Hopefully this fix the issue though
Hope it works for you- keep me posted- if it still just leaks out, try removing the handle and place the tank on the unit again. Ruling out the handle completely (for instance the rod could be stuck in the on position)
You may have to purchase the bottom section of the tank assembly. Top being the lid. I have found parts on eBay where some folks would sell pieces of their units, especially parts that are not normally available by themselves
