- In this video I show you one of my latest Goodwill finds. It is currently June at our house and we are having a bit of Christmas to carry us through. This carousel horse that I found at Goodwill I knew I could turn into something beautiful for Christmas. I show you how I turned this carousel horse that was homely at the start and changed it into a beautiful classy carousel horse for our Christmas decor. I love Carousel horses!! I have a huge collection of the carousel horses that I have collected for years!! As a matter of fact that horse I can guarantee is an antique! It most likely was on a medal stand that kids could bounce up or down & rock it back & forth!! I still have mine, its 61 years old!! I want to find someone who can convert it with the pole & stand!! You did a gorgeous job on it !!! You have a great talent !!!

Yeah...that horse was gaudy to start with, but you brought him into 2021❤ I love the black and gold.
I've always loved carousel horses. 🎠 I have a small collection of porcelain carousel horses from a Hallmark ornament collection done in the 90's.

That is gorgeous and a genius idea. I know because I made-over one that my husband pulled out of the trash for me. I covered it in paper mache before painting because it was so ugly. I submitted to show it in a juried art exhibit at the local university and it was selected! I wish I could find another to make it elegant and Christmasy like yours.

A Christmas horse, oh what a joy it will be to see him among all the beautiful, exquisite things you have at your home in this year Christmas video. I can hardly wait! I am watching all your videos the most I can .
You know, I would like to share a little thing with you.
I like very much to do some makeovers myself, specially with old toys.This time was, is, just fixing some things. Some days ago, a good friend of mine, gave me a very special present, I dare say, the most special I could think of. He found in a flea market a mannequin.They are rare around here. It's a little boy, looking like about five years of age . Unfortunately he is in a bad shape, his head is cracked and and he has no arms the poor darling , all naked...well, as you American good people say... OH BOY !!!!
I must tell you that even so, he has the sweetest face.
Someone, a long time ago, hand painted his lovely green eyes, some eyelashes, and sweet pink mouth. He has such a little nose and lovely round face. His face reminds me of the vintage porcelain dolls, collectible ones , that I can see only online.
I just immediately adored him. He must be older than me, but he remain on his size and look of a child .
I wonder how many clothes he wore during the years being in a shop, in window shops also, for sure. I don't know, he just looks alive. I like to write, and he is giving me ideas and that's just wonderful . He is made of hard plastic, and I think a mix of other materials , but he looks like porcelain.
I wash him good and gently, and I will take care of him, giving him new arms, taking care of his head , making him warm clothes for winter, in Christmas colors of green and red, and he will be the new friend that came to stay with all of us (me and my toys collection) forever.
I could buy some clothes for him, but no, it will be a pleasure to make some of my own hands in a old times style.
When I saw him, somehow he just reminded me of Oliver Twist, Mr. Charles Dikens(my favorite English writer) caracter,so I named him Oliver. My friend was extremely happy to see my gladness, saying that the moment he saw him, he fought of me, that I would help him, care for him giving him a good life. SO TRUE! . I never had a mannequin, and I never thought of having one or could have it , but I'm so happy I have Oliver now .
He is my best early Christmas gift .My friend said that he was so cheap, few money.
For me he is A Treasure .

Somehow I know that you are happy for me and Oliver also, I can see that you are a warm-hearted person .

Hi ya Jeff it's beautiful . I've got a rocking horse my sister got it me it was black not a nice face but Tammy loved it . She wanted it like her horse at the riding school . This was when she was 10 , so I did it like (chief) and he sits on our DVD book case . And Christmas I put all the Holly etc on him to put under the tree . I've done Tammy's rocking horse which was on springs but I could get Jeff to put it on a pole and do it up . Jeff said thankyou he has more to do which he likes doing . He made Santa village a few years ago . I painted them they go out the front with the fairy lights on them . Another great transformation. I have a friend who helped restore carousel horses on historic carousels here in northeast Ohio. I was thinking as you were working that the actual process of transformations or home improvements are just as much fun and rewarding as the enjoyment of the end product. I know that has been my experience as I look around at our home and remember how we enjoyed planning what colors, finishes and physical changes to make. On another subject I enjoyed spying around your garage at everything all around you, I’m reminded of my late dad’s detached garage and the many items he had in there including a 40’s era phone. One day a neighbor was talking to him there and out of curiosity picked up the handset and jumped from astonishment because my dad had run telephone wire to it and my mom was talking to someone! It was so funny. I also picked up the balanced diet cookie sign. My dad was going to have medical tests done and the nurse advised him he could eat anything hecould see through two days prior to his test. He said good, then I can have have Swiss cheese 🧀!
