I had an Abbysinian (can't spell it ). She went on walks with me and I even took her hiking. She never needed a carrier because she was happy to sit on my shoulder when at the vet or cat dental hygienist. Everyone loved her and found her amazing. The vets loved her and the hygienists would tell me that they never had a cat cooperate with them like she did.
My Manx used to collect all my scrunchies over the course of a month and then at the end of the month bring every single one to me and lay them at my feet. Like..”hey mom, I found your hair ties!” 🙄😂
Me too, I've had manx, because The Golden Book of Cats, I read as a kids said they were the most like dogs. And I couldn't have a dog. Now I don't need one.
@@dreamconnemarapony opposite here. I now only have dogs bc I hate litter boxes. But I have huskies…which are basically cats…they just pee outside. 😂😂😂
This. My father has a black cat that has been super friendly, from day one. Stranger or not. And is still is; and very adaptable to other humans. Other cats... not so much lol.
I was literally about to comment this. You are so right, I cant believe people still stereotype breeds! I had a Ragdoll that was aggressive, and also a tabby cat that was very ''dog-like''
I'm sure some level of it may be genetic, but I believe this is definitely the answer. But I have had cats of every breed act like dogs with me. And of course a lot that don't. I've had a Heinz 57 tabby that was the best dog cat I've ever had.
Once when I received bad news from back home and I was crying inconsolably, our Maine Coon stood up on her hind legs and put her paws on my hand and cried with me! I will never forget that moment!
@fluffyduckbutter's sister We have had two Maine Coons. Both were intelligent and empathetic. Truly amazing. After Ruby passed we said” no more” because we could not let our hearts be broken like that again.
@GordonMarshall Mainecoons are the best! They ‘ talk ‘, apport balls (like dogs) and show their affection. My big Maincoon NEVER used his nails against me, not even when I gave him his monthly shower in the bath, or took care of his thick fur. His character was so nice. He behaved like a dog😄
I had a Black Maine Coon many years ago named Minkie. He had short hair ! He grew to 36" long and was by far the sweetest, most gentle Cat I ever had. ♥️
I think it’s random. We had many cats growing up (10+ over the years, most died from coyotes). Anyways we had only 1 that followed us miles along trails hikes. Literally like a dog. No leash. Had 1-2 that overly loved human attention. And about 10 “normal” cats.
I’ve had many pure breed and mixed breed cats. The Maine Coon behaves more like a dog than any other breed I‘ve had. I had 6 different Maine Coons in my lifetime and all of them demonstrated dog behaviors. They fetched toys, greeted visitors, understood just about any voice command, all were easily leash trained and they often followed me around the house. Other cats I’ve had did not demonstrated ALL of these dog-like behaviors.
I think it’s more of a case of how people react to the cats. I’ve had many strays and shelter cats over the years and they all have been very so called “dog like” in their behaviors; perhaps simply because they feel safe and loved. I’m guessing some breeds might be more aloof and demanding, but all my cats have been sweet and warm and open to strangers more than some dogs.
My cats are mixed, no one pure breed here. All follow me around, all came whem called, all sit when givem the order.. Depends on the amount of time you dedicate
@ Carla Stone Exactly. Over the decades, all my cats follow me around the house, know their names, play fetch, understand "no". -All have been mixed/rescues. I make it clear "You live here, you better show me love" lol
I had mixed cats before they all did what u say, but when they say dog like behaviour these breeds are different. U won’t know the difference till you don’t own one of these breeds. I have a ragdoll now, does the things mentioned u and the video but somehow their behaviour is really more like dogish...these things can’t be explained well in the video, it is not about the following u around the house or playing fetch. I bet u have beautiful cats too and as u said intelligent cats.
I never even went out of my way to train any of my cats and they all obey me. They know I’m mom and you don’t wanna fuck with me or else no wet food lol
I have two Abyssinian cats, they're super cute and love to cuddle. It's true that they follow you around - doesn't matter if you shower or sleep or cook... they're around 😅 also they love learning tricks, they want to please their human. I would say that this behavior is very dog-ish 😊
I have a Norwegian Forest cat that I feel missed this list. They look and act like Maine Coons. My wedgie is very affectionate, greets me at the door and follows me everywhere. She also gets upset with me when I leave for work and gone for too long. I love her so much
Mine, too. I plopped him on the table on the first visit and the vet declared within a minute, "That's a dog cat." We got him from a rescue and don't know his breeding, which is likely a mix, but the vet thought he was strongly Forest cat because of the shape of his head and tufts of fur between the toes.
I had one. He would excitedly greet me at the door when I came home, followed me everywhere, fetched, loved cuddles more than some dogs. They have a very loud meow though. Neighbours thought I had a baby, lol.
Definitely! My Luna is a Siamese mix & she loves to follow me around, lays on my lap while I work, plays fetch, responds to her name, & inspects everyone at the door
I have a Ragdoll. She comes when you call her, greets me when I come home and loves to lay belly up! She begs for food and will wait for her food. She is very smart and I love her so much! 🐾❤️🐾
Great video, all those cats are cool. We have a 3 1/2 year old female Nebelung and she chases me in the backyard and runs away, hopping threw the grass like a gibbon, follows me to get the mail out front and so many dog like attributes. Loves affection, waits for her food, so many you listed here. Cats are awesome, ones that act a little like dogs, even better imo.
the more silly noises i make the more excited and animated my cat gets. she's always involved and follows me everywhere. she loves playing football with me and where ever her ball is she will bat it into the same room to initiate a game. she's pretty amazing, my girlfriend trained her to tap the wind chimes for food... she's does it a lot. i found her when she was about 6 months old by a railway while taking photos, she was covered in grease. i scooped her up, took her home, cleaned her, put loads of 'found' kitten posters about but no one ever claimed her. she is a gorgeous black and white cat with the most perfect symmetrical markings
Our cat would never use a litter box. He’d sit by the back door when he needed to use the bathroom. Then he’d be sitting by the back door to be let back in. He was an orange tabby 😁❤️
I have had both a Ragdoll and a Turkish Angora and both boys. These boys were honestly the best animals I had ever had. It was a joy to come home everyday to them over the years and yes as every animal is a blessing. These guys loved to be around dogs and the dogs loved them. They would play with the dogs run around the garden with them and sit on the porch watching the sun set with their best friends the dogs and us. I have been very fortunate that I have had these opportunities to expieence these 2 breeds especially since they were rescued animals. X
My Manx knows when she is being disciplined. She knows quite a few words. She follows me around and waits for me to get up every morning. She is very affectionate and wonderful!
Tar-Baby (I didn't name him). He was the sweetest Maine Coon. 18-20 lbs, Loved to step with me in the bath, purred when taking a bath. Got along with everyone and animal. He brought a "friend we named Kathy" home to share his food as she was a homeless cat from the grove. She became the most lovely and loving cat ever. We miss her and him, sweet love bugs. Not sure if we will be able to find another like him or her again.
All of my 4 Maine Coons respond to their names. 2 love playing with balls and 1 plays fetch. 1 loves water. 1 has an easily matting coat, 1 needs occasional help with grooming an 2 are self sufficient. They all like to play with my dog, chasing, play fighting - fabulous chaos!
My Ocicat Baxter was extremely dog-like. He was the official greeter for the home. He loved to walk on a leash, fetch (up to 3 fuzzy balls at a time!!!) and extremely devoted. Such a good boy!
Ocicat should be the #1 breed on your list! 🌺 Extremely intelligent, they can reason like a human. Ocicats are very social and loving and are involved with whatever you are doing. They are sensitive to your needs and emotions and will “nurse” you back to health if you are ill. They fit in with a busy family and other animals and LOVE to play. I highly recommend the Ocicat. 🌹🌺
I have a 22lb British Shorthair boy, that is more like a dog... than my dog!! He comes when called...and comes when I whistle. He growls protectively when the mailman, or anyone comes up on the porch--before they get to the door. Not at all "aloof", he wants to snuggle, be held, carried, loves both water-and his belly rubbed 27/7. 🐱♥️
I have 5 cats - the mom is a Manx and the dad was a Ragdoll. They are smart and loving and they follow me around the house - all five of them! lol I like all cat breeds, but love this combination.
Glad to see Burmese on the list. We've had several and they really are like dogs in responsiveness and behavior. Our Korat was not dog like, but very interactive with us. A little clown.
My orange tabby cat does all of that: play fetch, come when called, walk with me room to room, look at me when I am talking to him, wag its tail, super attached to me, sleep outside my bedroom at night on a rug. I had to move the rug.
@@OnlyKaerius not non allergic, there's no such cat breed. But they are hypoallergenic. I am allergic to cats myself but didn't have any reaction with my siberian 🥰
I was about to text the same thing. I had a Siberian that played catch, chased and would do other things that dogs did as well. Plus I have asthma so this breed was best for me.
My regular short-hair was trained to press a door-bell when coming back home so that we open a door for her. All my grand-parents’ cats could manipulate a house door pressure latch to get in.
No joke, dude. They're like Maine Coons but they don't look like Ron Perlman. I ground scored my little "Buddy" behind a dumpster when he was a kitten, thinking he was full grown but after another year came to find out (yeah, we did the test and everything) that he wasn't even close to done growing. Little bugger made me a cat person. If you want I can take a video of him. He truly is a little angel.
Norwegian Forest cats are the best. I have one that was raised with a pit bull and sometimes she barks, she likes to go for walks and every 12 lbs of her is amazing
@@5610winston Haha! Thanks for forever changing my perspective. However now, something tells me, that I'm probably going to see them holding an old fountain pen, cream pie, or bottle of seltzer water. Anything is better than Ron Perlman though...
And Maine Coone cats molt all year round! My big bubba is the reason I have to have a good vacuum and vacuum regularly lol he's totally worth it though 😍
You missed an extremely dog like breed......the Cornish Rex. It is affectionately called The Poodle That Purrs. It has to be around people and other animals, often calling for owners when out of sight, walking on a harness, driving in cars, and jumping on visitors to make themselves known. That is why I have had this breed for 40 years!
Have you hade any other breeds in your household alongside them over the years? Or are you just a good parent/trainer? I'm curious if the cats follow your training and the behavior of you the other Rex's or if the breed has shown it's extrovertness time and again.
I haven't had them around other cat breeds but, over the years, they've lived with Rough Collies, Briards and English Bulldogs. They are an extremely extroverted breed and will light on the laps of anyone who sits on the couch, be it owner or stranger. I have done pet therapy with them from hospices to hospitals. One was even the ring bearer at my wedding and held up the recession by rubbing against the pews to be pet by everyone. Lol
My tuxedo cat is more dog than my German Shepherd. He intrudes in everyone’s personal space and plays fetch. Really loves his belly scratched and begs for food ALL the time. Demands that you escort him to his food and rolls around in dirt. He has everyone wrapped around his paw. 😽🐾 The most communicative and affectionate pet I ever had.♥️
Please don't forget about THE Pixiebobs. I am from the UK and once you have one there is no going back !!!!. My husband and I are now owned by 5 VERY spoilt Pixies, they have the looks of the wild American Bobcat, with different sized tails and 50% have Poly Paws (paddle paws as I like to call them) and of course are very doglike ...... oh I nearly forgot to say that you can have a full blown cat conversation with them !!!!.
I am a proud parent of a pair of Sphynx and it is true, they are very dog like. They sit and wait for their food and follow commands. My two also speak Arabic and come when called. One of the two love playing fetch and they both love following my husband and I around the house. When they want attention, they reach out to you with their paws and touch you as to say, "hay, hay, pet me." Interesting video. Thank you!
I have a Sphynx called Annabella. She is lovable, loves cuddles from my husband and myself. She is very playful, is attached to her favourite toys and is very intelligent. She talks to me, I understand her language. Her best friend is our Ragdoll, Miffy, they play hide and seek together, and chase through tunnels and up cat trees although Miffy waits on the floor. I have an "assault course " for them around the house. Neither Sphynx cats or Ragdolls should ever be left alone.
My ocicat mix insists on staying in the same room as me, plays fetch, comes when called, and walks on a leash. She's also very talkative and knows some commands like lay down, stay, come on, go, etc.
Maine coons are just the best. I love all kittie breeds but I couldn’t imagine my life without a Maine coon around. Chatting me up. Playing fetch. All the kisses Amazing pets
My Maine Coon is so intelligent, gentle n brave. He's the best cat I've ever had! Once you get one, you really don't want any other breed. These cats are so intelligent and incredible.
Love it. But you forgot British Shorthair. They have dog like personality too. 1) Let's you know if someone is on the property. 2) Waits nearby while food bowl gets refilled & waits until you are done. 3) Teaches easily; the word "no", "good girl" & "go to your room" when you have a party or handyman going in & out of the house. 4) Greets you at door when you come home from work & demand time with you. 5) Gets upset when you leave for work. 6) Waits outside bathroom door while you shower. 7) Walks behind you as you walk from room to room. 8) Lays on the couch with you while watching TV. 9) Anticipate being petted when you are near by. 10) Plays fetch with a cat ball &, brings it back to you waiting for you to throw the ball again. 11) Loves to go for car rides. 12) Gets dressed up for Halloween, Christmas, Easter, ect. 13) Loves her tummy rubbed, loves to be brushed, &, groomed. 14) Loves drinking out of water fountain. ECT. But also she won't come when called but expects you to come when she calls you. Instinctively know if you are a nice person. Is not a lap cat. Anyway wanted to say all animals have their own unique personality & all cats are unique and if you teach them young like a dog with treats & goodies & patience they will learn also. It is the misconception that cats cannot learn tricks. They can but do they want to? And if you're mean to them you won't have their loyalty. I adopted a feral cat passed the age age of learning, unadoptable. But after six months she worked & gave me a dead mouse present. Fast forward four years and she does all the the above plus some. Remarkable. If one took the time, love & care your pet can be everything they are capable of. But one violent newspaper, sprayed water, or impatience incident can &, will muck it all up. Here's to our loveable companion no matter the breed or types of animals...
Maine Coon cats are beautiful longhair species, with a delightful personality. They are so smart and loving and they make you feel you’re the center of their universe.
I loved my Maine Coon Cat, it was a Dog in a cats Costume! She used to meet people at the front door like a Butler, and follow me around the house. One of my Male Siberian Cats was also like that, he was also a lover. I miss both of these magnificent Cats and their quirky habits!
The stereotype is so stupid. Every cat I’ve ever had came when it was called, did tricks, played with us children, and walked on a leash. Mixed as well as purebreds. But people are lazy and ignorant and don’t start training them when they’re kittens like they do a puppy. With the same reward/punishment systems.
That doesn't always work on cats. Some cats come when you call them, my NFC did, my chantilly absolutely doesn't no matter what you do. She's a nice cat, but does her own thing 100% of the time. Cats aren't as submissive as dogs. Most dogs come to you when you call them just because they're trained to, most cats will come when you call them because they assume they'll get food or pet them.
@@noremac0575 Key word is “training” just like dogs. Must do it as small kittens, not wait until they’re half grown. And both dogs and cats are trained using food with discipline as the incentive. Both are two different species of animals and each have advantages and disadvantages over the other.
My sphynx cats act just like dogs. They greet me at the door every night when I get home from work and have to be in the same room with me at all times. They are alot of work but they are the most loving pets I've ever had.
@@noremac0575 I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your beloved SFC. Mine died last year at 18 1/2 and I miss him every day. He was my best friend, understood everything I said , a wonderful time in my life to have spent together. Treasure your memories.
We have a Maine Coon, A long hair black cat, A red stripped kitten and a tortiste cat with 8 claws on each of her front paws... We also have two very energetic Brittanies. They are all lovely animals and all get along but the Coon Cat is definitely the most dog like. That being said, we can put leashes on three of our cats as well...All the cats were rescues so I cannot give you their history, but the Maine Coon is over 20 lbs and definitely the biggest of our felines. We were surprised as we thought he was just a cute gray kitten when we got him. Neither we nor our vet can believe that someone left him abandoned on the side of a road at someone's farm. All of them love people, come to their names and follow us around the house i.e. they are all very social.
I've been owned by a sociable Turkish Angora in the past and currently owned by a grumpy 18 pound Maine Coon cat who sometimes teleports from room to room. Good times.
Back in the fall of 1981-early March 1994. I had a cat that was dog like in many ways. I did played fetch with him with a rabbit’s foot keychain in the upstairs bathroom. Even called his name, too. He was a stray cat that I became best friends with him instantly. He was a big American shorthair red tabby cat. He did loved his belly rubs.
I currently have three Raggies and totally agree. This breed is so absolutely wonderful in every way. They are also very empathetic, especially my big boy Dusty who always seems to know when I am feeling down.
I've had a rag doll, Burmese, and a Tonkenese, and Bengal cross, but but I would definitely have added a Bengal to the list. They swim, they fetch, they have beautiful markings and they are robust and love rough play. Next cat will be a Maine Coon for sure....😍
FYI Tuxedo is a color marking of the fur and not a BREED! You are actually talking about the Shorthaired Oriental. Which is where the tuxedo or black and white bi-color coat markings come from. Just thought you should know that.

@Shiki * lol nerves are not the same as brain neurons. Actually I have a degree in animal sciences and I never said that they were smarter than dogs just different. Some cats do come when they are called and some choose not to. I have literally seen a cat make a conscious decision and I have never seen a dog make a conscious decision. Dogs just act. They are impulsive compared to cats.
@Shiki * whoops wrong post about the smarter thing. I stand by my statement other than the smarter/different sentence. Not to mention that Canadian Scientists have proven that cats are smarter than dogs.
That's not true! There's a distinctive difference in the way dogs and cats act. Most cats don't follow you through the house like a dog, play fetch, or play tug of war!
My cat was white with yellow tabby points. He had big aqua colored eyes and a faint line of orange along his back. He answered to his name, played fetch, would go or stay, had attack commands and heel. One evening while walking him a very large German Shepard lunged toward us with apparent encouragement of the owner lady, he, my cat, shot out like a white streak of lightning, planted claws on either side of its face, pierced it's nostril with a ravenous bite, and shredded the dogs chest via the back claws. It and the owner retreated in horror and quickly we called our cat back and he obliged. KILO, was also good at several other games and enjoyed hangout, playing rough and watching T,V, He was half siamese and half yellow tabby alley cat as well as as fully a 6month old Tom cat cat when he attacked the dog. One of his pass times was to terrorize his 10lb. full blood siamese father. I miss KILO.
Oh my goodness...I think my first cat is a Chartreaux! For the LONGEST time I could not remember the 3rd blue breed for cats. I'd look up this information every so often (I know, my efforts weren't the greatest) but was unable to find the answer. I concluded that she is a Korat (as would be her daughter), but this video answered my question and now has me scratching my head, and thinking that I might need to get a DNA test done on her. She was feral when she adopted me and people said that her mother did not survive a car "incident". She may also be part Bombay, as she does have some of those features. All I know is that I have one deeply attached cat (and she's passed on that trait to her offspring) who LOVES belly rubs and going for leashless walks (rolling in all kinds of stinky substances)...which usually results in her regressing to her outdoor tendencies, where she'll run off and hide in bushes or trees. But I digress. This is one very smart cat, very aware of her humans' emotions, and is very attentive. She is one amazing little treasure.
@@GFSTaylor I agree. I've done more research, results are more questions than answers. Thank you for introducing me to the term "moggie", just looked into it. She very well could be, as some of her offspring have been seal points. I'm still leaning towards doing a DNA test on her once the finances are more settled. Thank you again!
I had 3 ragdolls. They truly are so loyal to you. They talk to you. They follow you all over the house. They lay on their backs in the middle of the room you are in. Lovely disposition!
Had a Bombay, he was a rescue I named him Shadow, clique, when you went to turn around d there he was in your Shadow! Great cat, HUGE PERSONALITY, he would play with our Golden Doodles, fairly large dogs!!! I would get another Bombay in a heart beat ! Glad they made this list
I have always had stray moggies and they all were trainable. Some of them also played fetch specially when young. Also I usually had a numberof cats as used to take in strays and they all learnt to live together. They all knew the word no & cane when called. They all knew their own names. A few them over the years would also follow me to the shops. So I think all cats dan have these qualities.
1# should be a Savannah Cat, they’re more playful and energetic just like dogs! They like to rough around and happily will spend time and bond with your family and other playful species, such as dogs.
My Savannah is all the good stuff mentioned. VERY Friendly, affectionate and devoted. He’s a big boy, about 20 lbs, loooong and fairly tall. I too thought Savannah’s would top the list.
I love my two manx, one's a rumper and the other is a stumper. Both are super smart and we've trained them to do tricks. I can lean down and tell the rumper to "pound it" and he'll head bump me. The stumper will hit the ground and flop around when my wife says "oh we, he's so cute". Its hilarious
My aunt had a ragdolll cat and he would lick his paw then pick up kernels of cat food and put it in his mouth. He was a little gentleman and would not scratch a handsy four year old. He was very obedient and wouldn't go into the bedrooms or jump on furniture. He would run outside when you told him too. I used to let him in my bedroom at night to hang out even though he wasn't allowed. Great cat.
We have a Main Coon, he surely acts like a dog! Very even tempered, unlike some cats. We also have a tortie, which is the smallest, but bossiest.2 tuxedos round out our crew. One of the tuxies acts like a dog too. He is VERY smart, will fetch on command, begs for treats & waits by the door if someone leaves. Comes when you call & likes to dig holes. But can't pick a fav, they're all special in their own right. Paw Power!!
I have a Tuxedo cat who we all say acts like a dog. If he's sitting in my chair all I have to do is snap my finger and say off and he'll jump off. He comes when he's called
I have had abyssinians for 23 years & I wouldn't have any other cat because they have always been excellent companions, personable, loyal, loving & trainable all my cats have leadh trained immediately & loved going for walks & rides, in pet stroller, bikes wagons I had one that loved my granddaughters umbrella stroller! She would push him around! They are the best cats!
@@marisamorais3150 you must have met or have a retarted savannah cat then. My savannah cat is f3 and she acts more like a dog than a cat. My kitty has Manx in her. She's also a very clingy and lovey calico. She's a sweetie and enjoys playing and following people around. She even comes when called (most of the time).
I grew up with both cats and dogs and NO cat I've ever had comes when called LOL. I've had cats that would LOOK at you when called, to decide whether it was worth their time to come to you...but never a cat who comes when called like a dog. You must be lucky with cats. I always get the aloof A-holes lol
One of my cats (22 lb, neutered male) loves to play fetch with a ponytail holder! He's as adamant about it as any kid demanding to play their favorite game.
My cat is so affectionate and gentle. Except for when he goes outside and hunts mice and eats them... I have to explain to him that he's a civilized cat, not an animal.
I have an ocsicat i think she's the best pet I've ever had. I seriously recommend them. She's playful, vocal, loyal, fun and super hyper so she's very entertaining to watch. She can be annoying at 3 am screaming for attention though haha. Im trying to leash train her its not working she forgets how to walk but besides that she's really smart. She's always coming up with new games to teach us to play with her. I originally adopted her at the pound to help get over my last cat passing I had no idea what I was signing up for. Im definitely getting another ocsicat after her. Sometimes I just look at her and start laughing for no reason her eyes look like the guinepig buggsy from bedtime story im not sure if its all oscicats or just her that has the comicly large eyes.
My dog does, but that's because I am the only one of my friends who owns a dog and she loves to play with cats. She grew up around cats so she adopted cat like behaviors. Lol we think she thinks she's a cat, but only around cats and not dogs.
Shitzu is as close as your going to get. They definitely act like a cat. There's a rumor that they have cat DNA in them which would explain why they can twist their bodies in mid air just like a cat and dogs aren't supposed to be able to do that.
None of my five cats fall into any of these breed categories but they all understand commands and follow me around and show so much affection. I wish people would stop comparing cats and dogs. For all I know both of these animals are far better than us humans
I second that emotion! And I'm also sick & tired of people saying that cats are "aloof." Cats are all Individuals, & have different personalities, just like people. So to characterize them as all the same is not only incorrect, but it's wrong, & ignorant. I have had enough cats to show proof of this, and I am a cat rescuer as well, so I speak from vast experience. Cats are AWESOME! As well as ALL of God's Wonderful Creature's!
Right? They're the most dog-like cat I've ever met. Most can walk on a leash, fetch and learn tricks. Mine's just like a dog, wanting to follow me wherever I go and yelling for walks..
I have a 2 year old Tokinese cat (a Burmese and Siamese mix) he’s literally the most friendly and active cat ever, he love’s to play and go outside, and he’s adorably affectionate by far my favorite breed.

It doesn’t depend on the breed
It depends on how you raised them and most importantly depends on each individual personality
Yep I know my 1 year old cat can fetch and site and stay because I taught him how too
It still depends tho
A Mainecoon was my best friend when about 3 years old and many years after. She would comfort me when I was upset.
@GordonMarshall
Mainecoons are the best! They ‘ talk ‘, apport balls (like dogs) and show their affection. My big Maincoon NEVER used his nails against me, not even when I gave him his monthly shower in the bath, or took care of his thick fur. His character was so nice. He behaved like a dog😄
What a hero
i had around 25 cats in total so when one dies im not thats sad. Of course i am but not this much
I had a Black Maine Coon many years ago named Minkie. He had short hair ! He grew to 36" long and was by far the sweetest, most gentle Cat I ever had. ♥️
Hello Friends, Which of these cats did you like the most ?
RAGDOLL CAT
WHERE IS THE SAVANNAH CAT
Manx Abby And Ragdoll
Maine Coons jhxbabikxq aaaa
Ragdolls ;')
That literally described every ordinary cat I’ve ever met or owned. None of those traits are unusual. It does not make them “like a dog”.
My sisters cats are pretty lazy. My mom's Bengal-probably likes to follow people outside to go hunt rabbits.
I hate when when people say cats are lazy and independent they are so stero typical
Hello Sophia how’s the weather over there
Hello
Cat barks as 1%?
My cats are mixed, no one pure breed here. All follow me around, all came whem called, all sit when givem the order.. Depends on the amount of time you dedicate
Also most mixes in the cat world have Mau in them or Shorthaired Oriental. Those 2 breeds all have dog like behaviors.
I totally agree!
When my cat was alive he would beg at the door to be let outside, he hated the litter box. He would meow but it sounded like ow.
My best friends cat also begs to go outside and scratches the door
My cat climbs up onto the roof and meows at the window that over looks the roof
This is my cat now
Meow = me ow
It’s not good if he dosent like 5e litter boz
Yalls forgot the siamese 😂 by far my favorite breed - very velcro, high energy, very affectionate, all in all the perfect cat
Love them! Tonkineses are fun too half Siamese half Burmese.
I had one. He would excitedly greet me at the door when I came home, followed me everywhere, fetched, loved cuddles more than some dogs. They have a very loud meow though. Neighbours thought I had a baby, lol.
yep my flamepoint is the very most doglike cat I've ever seen. velcro is a good description lol
Good boy❤️
Hello Pamela how's the weather over there
Bengal.... plays fetch, loves water, follows you everywhere... howls when he's not in the same room as you.... gives you nose rubs for affection...
This is the one I was waiting to hear about.
Yes, Bengal and also Savannah cats are very dog like.
My bengal is great a lovely natured cat , fetches , walks on lead , loves cuddles , follows me everywhere , great cats 👍👍
Hello Sherry how's the weather over there
All of my 4 Maine Coons respond to their names.
Hello Patricia how's the weather over there
I have a 22lb British Shorthair boy, that is more like a dog... than my dog!! He comes when called...and comes when I whistle. He growls protectively when the mailman, or anyone comes up on the porch--before they get to the door. Not at all "aloof", he wants to snuggle, be held, carried, loves both water-and his belly rubbed 27/7. 🐱♥️
I knew Ragdoll would be on the list. My Ragdoll almost always comes when I call. He's such a mama's boy.
I have a Manx. She has all the traits mentioned in the video and would be a great first cat for a dog owner.
I must confess -- I love them all!! But especially my Bombay kitty. 🥰
I had a Ca-og Mr.Biggins lived to be 23 yrs old.
Gosh! I wish there was such thing as visiting hours in pet heaven I miss him so much!
Hello Angela how's the weather over there
You forgot Siberians. These cats are just like puppies. Fluffy and friendly.
And Wegies too. all big friendly fluffy cat like the Coon..
Omg mine too, he knows different tricks, always wants to cuddle and is happy whenever I take a leash to walk him 😂😭 they are just walking angels 😍
Aren't Siberians the non-allergenic ones too?
@@OnlyKaerius not non allergic, there's no such cat breed. But they are hypoallergenic. I am allergic to cats myself but didn't have any reaction with my siberian 🥰
I was about to text the same thing. I had a Siberian that played catch, chased and would do other things that dogs did as well. Plus I have asthma so this breed was best for me.
I really expected no. 1 to be the Bengal 😅 watching with my two bengals
My regular short-hair was trained to press a door-bell when coming back home so that we open a door for her.
All my grand-parents’ cats could manipulate a house door pressure latch to get in.
All cats respond to their name, on condition, they've been given one, of course.
Mine not lol 😅😅😂😂
My cat responds to “hey gorl”
Yes they do!
One of mine does and the other does not
@@callista3892 you didnt train well
You forgot to mention probably the most like dog cat the "Forest Norwegian Cat".
@@eamonia But looking like Ron Perlman is the best part...
@@eamonia More like Shemp Howard? Rondo Hatton?
Norwegian Forest cats are the best. I have one that was raised with a pit bull and sometimes she barks, she likes to go for walks and every 12 lbs of her is amazing
@@5610winston Haha! Thanks for forever changing my perspective. However now, something tells me, that I'm probably going to see them holding an old fountain pen, cream pie, or bottle of seltzer water. Anything is better than Ron Perlman though...
And Maine Coone cats molt all year round! My big bubba is the reason I have to have a good vacuum and vacuum regularly lol he's totally worth it though 😍
Hello Hets how's the weather over there
Hello beautiful
Lol
SSSHHHHH. We don't want people to know about Rexes.
Love my Rexes. Lost Leo two years ago. Miss him every day!
My domestic short hair acts like a dog. Plays fetch, brings the mail, comes when name is called. Greats me when i come home.
Hello Ginny how's the weather over there
I am a proud parent of a pair of Sphynx and it is true, they are very dog like.
How are you doing today
I’ve had many pure breed and mixed breed cats. The Maine Coon behaves more like a dog than any other breed I‘ve had. Maine Coon cats are beautiful longhair species, with a delightful personality. They are so smart and loving and they make you feel you’re the center of their universe.
Agree.
Love all 10 breeds, I’d get one but I have an older kitty that just wouldn’t put up with the competition. Next time...❤️
I loved my Maine Coon Cat, it was a Dog in a cats Costume! She used to meet people at the front door like a Butler, and follow me around the house. One of my Male Siberian Cats was also like that, he was also a lover. I miss both of these magnificent Cats and their quirky habits!
Hello Christine how's the weather over there
The stereotype is so stupid.

Sounds like a nice human / animal family.

Hello beautiful how are you doing h
I've had a rag doll, Burmese, and a Tonkenese, and Bengal cross, but but I would definitely have added a Bengal to the list. They swim, they fetch, they have beautiful markings and they are robust and love rough play. Next cat will be a Maine Coon for sure....😍
An affordable and quite common dog-like cat, is the tuxedo cat. They pick up on tricks quick.
FYI Tuxedo is a color marking of the fur and not a BREED! You are actually talking about the Shorthaired Oriental. Which is where the tuxedo or black and white bi-color coat markings come from. Just thought you should know that.
My 2 British Short Hair Cats are just like dogs as well. So loyal, funny, always cuddling.....i just love them .

That's because cats are smarter than dogs.

Hello Sheila how's the weather over there
Chartreux are exceedingly rare so it's highly unlikely that your cat is a pedigree. Most likely she's simply a beautiful moggie.
@@GFSTaylor I agree. I've done more research, results are more questions than answers. Thank you for introducing me to the term "moggie", just looked into it.
Every cat I’ve ever owned would come when I called their name.
Hello Cindy how's the weather over there
My aunt had a ragdolll cat and he would lick his paw then pick up kernels of cat food and put it in his mouth. He was a little gentleman and would not scratch a handsy four year old. He was very obedient and wouldn't go into the bedrooms or jump on furniture. He would run outside when you told him too. I used to let him in my bedroom at night to hang out even though he wasn't allowed. Great cat.
I think the abyssinian cat suits me its great!
Paw Power!!
Hello Patricia how's the weather over there
If trained, all cats should come when their names are called honestly
true. my cat is a domestic cat but it comes when i called it
@@28_satryohafidzfathanmufli53 mine too
Indeed they should.
I have a Cornish Rex. Their dog-like but really are in their own class--extremely affectionate, intelligent, and communicative.
I have 2 movies who both come when I call their names, and one played fetch. I also taught both to lift their paw for treats
Hello Sandra how's the weather over there
I love both dogs and cats
Both have unique personalities
Not sure how the most dog like cat was missed, the Savannah.
And the most intelligent cat, Siamese.
Savannah doesnt not act dog like at all
@@mybestideas1 🙄lol
@@mybestideas1 Savannah are smarter by the way
@@marisamorais3150 you must have met or have a retarted savannah cat then. My savannah cat is f3 and she acts more like a dog than a cat. Follows commands, knows her name, plays fetch, meows when we leave, waits by the door when we come back, follows us around the house and gets vocal when she wants food or to be petted
My kitty has Manx in her. She's also a very clingy and lovey calico. She's a sweetie and enjoys playing and following people around. She even comes when called (most of the time).
Since when is "comes when called" some unique trait?
For cats it is😂
I grew up with both cats and dogs and NO cat I've ever had comes when called LOL. I've had cats that would LOOK at you when called, to decide whether it was worth their time to come to you...but never a cat who comes when called like a dog. You must be lucky with cats. I always get the aloof A-holes lol
I have many cats and some do some don't, sometimes they are moody.
Jason Voorhees Because You we’re clueless and didn’t train it the same way as a dog.
dude my cat dosent even look at me when i call her name, and im convinced she dosent even know her name-
One of my cats (22 lb, neutered male) loves to play fetch with a ponytail holder! He's as adamant about it as any kid demanding to play their favorite game.
Hello Earline how's the weather over there
My cat is so affectionate and gentle.
No, no.... I’m waiting to hear about dogs that act like *cats.*
- Cat person, allergic to cats 😢
@Narrow Path Really? Thanks, I’ll look into that! 😀
Ragdoll, or look into the hypoallergenic breeds :)
Narrow Path chow chow and shar pei
I've had two wrinkly shar peis that were exactly like cats.
Chow chows are just like shar peis but they are fluffy.
Um Bengal Cats anyone??? Leash walking, constant play and following their Purr-son like a shadow. I’ve never had a dog - until I got my Bengal Buddy 😻
I love my kitty!!! He’s a mutt but he grew up with his dog sister
Hello Kitty how's the weather over there
None of my five cats fall into any of these breed categories but they all understand commands and follow me around and show so much affection. I wish people would stop comparing cats and dogs. For all I know both of these animals are far better than us humans
Actually, its dogs that acts like cats. Sincerly, a cat lover who is sick of hearing about cats always being compared to dogs.
theyre so much better!
Ahahaha people tend to do that. I like both, they have some similarities but are not the same as a dog
They are so smart that's why. It's fun to train cat's that are interested. I use hand signals especially when I want them to come.
My cat is the most pasic cat ever... He's a Persian cat always sleeps sheds everywhere and doesn't like to play haha. But I still love him dearly.
I would say Bengal cats are missing from this list.
YES!
