I find it funny how despite not being in the tournament i managed to be in this video lol, acidentally fell in and did NOT wanna ruin that battle between Igayneo and Emilli0n.
Your decision to remove increasing repair cost is definitely good, and the anvil changes where you can't use books in it anymore makes sense. And using the new chiseled bookshelves with the enchantment table is such a great idea, although, you could have normal bookshelves introduce the random enchants mechanic that Minecraft originally had with a few changes to expand on this.
oo thats pretty intresting though i wouldent say you ""fixed"" the combat system, its entirely different from what it was supposed to be, still though banger idea
Fancy seeing the creator here! I can't sing enough praises about it! It's nearly perfectly balanced in every aspect right out the box! The greatsword I have to decrease by a half heart or two but besides that its absolutely wonderful!
I found this just in time. Been making a custom modpack for my nieces to play that caters to their play styles, combat was the last thing. I was torn between Better Combat and Epic Fight. The former was decent but very… vanilla+ feeling while Epic Fight was very nice but it felt pointless to have loads of weapons if the animations were the same for types with no other difference. Going to definitely try this out! Also, curious if you have plans to add more skills down the line!
I'm glad you like it! Watch out though, since enchantments aren't automatically obtainable. You'll have to make a datapack that randomly inserts them into structure loot tables, or make them drop from mobs. Also very encouraged to use better combat with it lol. I probably won't add any more, as they aren't planned, but it's not impossible
I've always wanted to make minecraft PvE more balanced, but it becomes so hard to do that almost immediately when getting out of early game. One of my ideas was to have an effect like "Clipped Wings" from Terraria, where getting hit by a mob would disable your elytra or creative flight (found in many modpacks through Angel Rings etc.) making you not be able to straight up dodge combat with mobs toward mid-endgame. I dont know how to code something like that tho Also your speed on ground is also a problem, since you can just outrun or dodge enemies instead of fighting them head-on which I have not even thought about fixing
The speed on the ground is only a problem due to minecrafts lackluster mob ai! This will be something I'll fix later, either by adding someone elses mod, or by making my own
feel like the removal of unbreaking and mending kinda sucks (not bad i just dont like it) i feel like a weapon leveling system would work really well with this, you can have your abilities as enchants and everything that has to do with durability and repairs could be tied to the weapons level just an idea but other then that this looks awesome
@@igneo220 I get that but now people have to have a stock pile of resources to use their weapons and tools and there’s nothing stopping your tools from breaking mid fight, this also hurts one of your enchantments that you brought (I watched all of your shorts) I can’t remember the name of it but the armor enchant that allows you to heal by consuming armor durability. I think the level system would work very well with this mod. You don’t have to take my advice I’m just some guy on the internet I just like giving feed back on things I find interesting (to clarify when I mean resources I mainly mean diamonds and netherite)
Looks fun, but doesnt feel minecrafty, i suggest doing a version of your mod but with minecraft dungeons weapons / enchantments, but with your philosophy of balancing
Unfortunately not, far too much effort on my end, when the entire of the purpose of the mod was designed entirely for my server, sorry lol. Use enchantery instead if you want the vanilla stuff
use replay mod or atleast f1 when recording stuff like the intro and the fights, the transitions could be a tad bit better and when showcasing the enchants have some sort of indicator when you talk about a different one because it sounds like rap god frfr, also show clips of enchants instead of hovering over em in your inventory. try to hide some of the gui that you're not using when you're recording too because it can clutter up the screen. im trying to be helpful here!!!!

It's definitely a rather jarring change I understand, but this way it doesn't make the repairing system a worthless artifact of older minecraft lmao

wasn't super meant to be vanilla-styled lol, but instead a way to make Minecrafts combat feel a bit more like ultrakills
