As a participant, I will say that the answer being week makes complete sense, constellation never made _complete_ sense, whereas week does. So does Fortnight, but that's going to be fixed anyways. That aside, even if the books DID have spelling mistakes (they don't), they're diaries (from what I gathered), and idk about you, but I don't look for perfect grammar in my diary, I look to express myself, and those books give that vibe very well, no matter what xddd

I feel like I was just kinda just "there", and the only time I actually made a good contribution (which was the answer) was when my microphone had turned itself off after my recording software crashed. I- by that logic mining isnt a focus... and it definitely is. You can have a sandbox game with focuses. An engineering game is a sandbox and that game is significantly different conceptually from Minecraft

besides like, using misode.io to speed things up, every setting was tweaked by hand, and yes i did, painstakingly lmao. This is my second mod ever and I'm quite surprised I've gotten this far lol. Yes it's in github under Igneo's Mining Revamp, but fairly soon it should be on curseforge as well

@@igneo220 I prefer caving too but you dont need to move all caves to another dimension to prevent people mine in a straight line. just make all the ores exposed to inside of the caves.

@@ismaildursun4944 well that would actually worsen the problem. Caves are super expendable, meaning that the second you use one cave, youre out of ores and need another. Searching on the surface wont find you one, especially on a server. This means your right back to square one, mining in a straight line, except now theres even less reward

@@igneo220 it doesnt worsen at all. mining dimension is literally the same thing with caves in underground. you just made everything complicated. you can just make caves more common then. there is no difference between mining dimension and minecraft caves. there is caves everywhere in new versions its not that difficult at all.

@@ismaildursun4944 if your understanding of the mining dimension is that they're the exact same as the vanilla caves then I didnt do a good enough job explaining them lol Even if they were the same then wouldnt there be no issue for you? Regardless, each mine is its own adventure, like stealing a dragon egg, searching and killing a crystal heart or maybe even just mining a certain amount of ores. Each with their own new biomes, enemies and gimmicks. Yes its more complicated, but thats not always a bad thing. Plus making caves more common barely fixes anything either because like i said earlier, the caves are expendable. They lose their novelty quickly, you'll have to backtrack through the same caves, and not to mention, this doesnt solve the "get full diamond gear within the firsg 15 minutes of playing the game" issue either

I'm not gonna make things impossible to do alone. I'm gonna make them easier in a group! But if you're on your lonesome you can still do it. Things like using Iron as decoration though doesn't mean too much though because that's like trying to justify infinite netherite for building purposes. A different scale, sure, but having costly blocks also helps some builds feel far more grandiose when it has a lot of a hard to obtain material. This also most certainly doesn't destroy the purpose of the game by taking the ores out of the overworld, when you still perform the act of mining in these new caves I'm making. Instead, theres just different quirks and gimmicks that make mining far more interesting. It should also be noted, entrances to these new caves are on the surface, not underground. Plus, even if I made them more rare in the overworld, this wouldn't solve the getting diamonds with no difficulty problem, but it would still be more profitable to mine in the overworld due to an acute lack of challenge. It would be mind-numbing as usual, yet worse, and creates the dreaded boring meta

really depends on how you define "what makes minecraft minecraft". All I'm functionally doing is adding another layer to the progression aspect, not removing the core aspects, like freedom of choice, building, and of course, mining. They're changed for sure, but by that logic each minecraft update would "destroy" that too.

that's because it's not intended as something to be used everywhere. I'm well aware that it makes things very incompatible with a lot of mods, but I'm talking about changes to minecraft for my server, not pre-packaged into the mod, so you can install the mod without it messing anything up, same with removing caves and ores from the overworld. The reason I removed those from the overworld in my server though was because it's to easy to get the best gear, so I'm adding a layer of challenge to the more powerful ores.

@@igneo220 actually this is kinda an idea. maybe leave trail chambers and other similar structures accessible in the mining dimension?
