Very well played game. Feel like they were a bit over focused on you. Black definitely greeded it not connecting earlier and instead extending and porting for settles. Had he connected i imagine you wouldn't have been focuaing road and would have ported to pop more, but overall you played excellently balancing that double win condition with that narrow opportunity. Also gonna say black seemed salty you got both monos but didn't really realize if you had gotten a knight, the most common pop, you would have won earlier because black didn't connect *and* you used both monos to keep the game going so they weren't as huge as they could have been. Just want to acknowledge that skill was apparent as you basically single handedly bapanced that game to keep others from winning all while everyone was focused on you.
Don't let anybody tell you that you think too much. Your thinking got to the realisation that black was a road away from victory. Also, purple did fuckall. Like that guy just wasted time playing this match. It was so funny to watch. And he at one point said "damn 10 rolls and i get 0 cards". Well what did you expect columbo?! You have 5 numbers and 1 of them was blocked hahaha. For a 30 minute game he managed to vuy a couple of devs which he didn't even secure army with! He had 1 city and 0 roads. Jesus what a bad match for him. I hope he recovers from this
I don’t like that you didn’t go for the 3:1 port. That was really slowing you down. You did so many 4:1 s it was disgusting. You could’ve been at the 3:1 long ago. You already had amazing production with double numbers. Come on man. This is rookie stuff.
He used the resources needed to go for the 3:1 port for building two roads, which was crucial to keep black from winning, and for taking road himself and winning. It was the only correct play.
