One way to keep the smoke and fire to direct them in one point of the gap in the wood. The fire will go in the opposite direction fo the wall, Keeping you from harms way. How you can make one is you hammer in 4 sticks around 1 foot and a foot and a half long to make a skinny rectangle with the long side having a gap between 1 to 2 inched between depending on how thick your preferred sticks are. Then stack sticks upon each other and there you go! You got a fire wall! You can also see what I'm talking about in you last outdoor 24 hour vlog where Justin's father in law made a kind of half wall around their fort. Its the same consept , just smaller scale. Bring a chisel or like a pickaxe and try getting rid of the rocks because you guys look so squished (well at least Andrew did) ..and also dig some more dirt out..try to make it just the rock not dirt because if you guys were to bring anything such as a pillow or blanket for comfort it would become very dirty pretty fast. Then expand the fort so you can have a room for sitting by the fire and eating (something like a living room), then a room for sleeping (also make the fire in front of a window so when someone wants to sleep but the others don't, the fire won't affect the guy sleeping.
To make it not so smoky you could move the fire pit out from under the rock so the smoke doesn’t get caught by the rock but is still close enough to the fort so you still feel the heat.
Add a Hamic for outside the fort And the reason the fire was so smoky is because of the type of sticks you used normally Pine tree sticks smoke more Next time collect sticks in a bag or something before you go down to the fort
i think you need to dig downwards and make more space and put sleeping bags and then make stairs to the bedroom also put some lights or torches, and i have a challenge for you guys, stay there for 24 hours!
