    recommendations from a random hungarian foodie:
    use pig fat instead of oil, more flavour
    you should use more onions, it really adds more sweetness to it
    leave the sour cream out of the cooking, it is used as an optional condament, it takes away from the flavour, mostly from the kick of the paprika
    also if you want to thicken the dish, use some really thinly diced potatoes meant for cooking, the starch from it thickens up the gravy a bit
    if the meat has no bones is it, try cutting it into smaller, bite sized pieces, it is a power move
    i recommend using chicken wings or chicken gizzard, they create the most flavourful versions
    also, you can switch out the tomato paste and bell pepper with some hungarian ratatouille, it really deepens the flavour
    as for vegans, switch out the meat to potato
    have fun cooking

    It's very traditional the way you made it with sour cream at least in Romania (we stole a lot of Hungarian dishes 😅) but there's 3 ways, other one is with milk and 3rd with double cream, last one being less common but tastier. Nice one.

      @@ChefJackOvens Description says sour cream in the ingredients but in the detailed explanation it doesn't say anything about when it was added. Is that what you added to the mixture after lifting the lid?

    I’m not familiar with Paprikash. What makes it traditional compared to what’s done here?

      Paprikash is one of those dishes that changes family by family a little bit, so to say what is authentic is kind of moot. I've never seen anyone coating the chicken in flour and searing it separately, but I wouldn't be surprised if some hungarians do it. You would mix the flour with the sourcream and add it at the end. Traditionally you wouldn't use bell peppers and would use fresh tomatoes, but those are things I've seen people using.
      All in all I'd say it's authentic. (Using italian style pasta became pretty normal for hungarians too, but traditionally it's served with nokedli (a kind of homemade pasta))

    No tomato paste in chicken paprikash
    The flavour comes from Paprika
    Hungarian peppers and sliced tomatoes
    No Tomato paste !

      @@ChefJackOvensSounds passive aggressive, hope you didn't understand it as random internet hate. It's the only thing I've ever not liked about your videos. We followed several of your recipes like fried chicken and eggs benedict, always turned out great. I just hope this ASMR thing doesn't become a regular thing 😅
      Btw. I personally think that ASMR is a huge gamble and unnecessary if it's not the point of the channel. Seems like people either love it or they physically can't sit through it.

      Nothing aggressive. It’s all good Feedback. It is a mixed bag. Some love it, some hate it. I’m trying new things to not be the same all the time. The asmr is only on shorts like this one. Never on the main videos. I’ve seen huge growth and watch time by doing asmr shorts
