I love my XT2. Together with some manual vintage lenses and you know what this camera is for. Amazing build quality. Brings a lot of fun. Thanks for your video.
I fully agree! The X-T2 is all you say and more. I'm actually very much into old CCD sensor point and shoot cameras at the moment, and in anything other than low light, you could happily take excellent photos with those!
Thank you very much Craig, I have owned, used and loved a used X-T1 for the last 3 years and now considering upgrading, you have helped me confirm what I need to add to my camera bag, appreciated!
The xt2 is 3 iterations ago but still very capable for todays standards. The biggest leap was between the xt1 and xt2 in my opion. Later models as the xt3 and xt4 had improvements but not as much as between xt1 and xt2. Xt2 had already a 24mp sensor and this enough.
I am a recent convert to Fujifilm. I managed to get an X-T2 that was “as new.” The photos it can produce are stunning. I was a Canon user but the Fuji allows me to focus more on discovering subjects to photograph rather than fiddle with a camera. The lenses are among the best on the market. Many thanks for producing such an excellent video.
When I purchased my camera 3 years ago, the used prices of the X-T2 were somewhat higher than today. With some patient shopping I found a really good deal on a barely used X-T3 and 18-55 kit that was too good to turn down. And, it was all still in the box and wrapped like new. I also got the extra grip with it and some extra batteries. Until I found that deal, I was definitely looking a the X-T2 and almost pulled the trigger on it a few times. But, at that time it seemed like most of the sales were body only. So, when the X-T3 kit came along I jumped on it. Three years later I still have that camera and really love it.
I will never sell mine. It's got all I'll ever need. From big prints to great character in the images. Going away on a long journey with just the XT2 and 18mmf2 + 35mm1.4
X-T2 with the XF 23 f2 and XF 35 f1.4 lens. That's all I need. I also like the X-Trans 3 sensors. Sometimes I miss the IBIS, but then again the camera takes a picture with that certain something.

Nice video! The X-T2 is also the last X-T series camera made in Japan and the build quality is awesome! X-T3 and later models were made in China and the build quality is not that good. X-T5 has the poorest build quality, it's not as good as the X-T3 and X-T4.
For me the X-Trans 3 sensor models hit the sweet spot of price to performance and features. My X100F+X-E3+X-Pro2 Graphite+X-H1 cost me less than a new X-T5, that's what I call value in the Fuji system. I added likely my last Fuji to my X-Series collection last month, the X-H1, I thought that had hit the ultimate value for money level - I paid $650 equivalent mint from MPB. The ergonomics, IBIS and overall build quality were the main attractions over and above the normal features I'm more than happy with. Don't disagree with your assessment of the value in an X-T2 in today's market.
You have an awesome collection there! And I'm with you on the X-Trans 3 lineup in general. I just picked up a used X-Pro2 again. I owned it for a brief bit before but sold it. Trying it again now. That was a fantastic deal on your X-H1! That's a special camera and I don't think people can completely appreciate until they use it.
I too went with an XH1. I wasn’t looking for it. I check Craigslist daily and found the XH1 with the Fuji 23 f2, a non Fuji 50 and 135mm lens and adapter for $600. The lenses are worth near what I paid for this package. Also received a 2nd nonfuji battery plus a camera bag. The seller was giving up photography. I wanted the grip. Found an excellent grip for $35 from MPB. Awaiting delivery. Don’t know which FW I have. The 2.1 gave the XH1 better autofocus and some addition features. The XH1 is more video oriented than the XT2. It has better build Body. For me, the additional size and weight is a drawback. I do street photography so the XH1 will not be my 1st choice of bodies. This was a deal I couldn’t pass up. The X-T2 is a great one to start with. You'll get the same image quality that you get out of the X-Pro2. Let me know what you end up doing. Best of luck!
I just purchased an XT2 and I see nothing dated about it. Build, screens, speed and image quality are suburb. Being a B&W film shooter I am finding the across setting to be very impressive. Sure there are the latest and greatest alternatives and if you have the $$ go for it but do you really need more?
Have the XT-1 and XT-20 and love both those cameras and won’t sell either. Have to say though I think the X-Trans 2 sensor is more filmic looking, especially paired with original XF 35mm 1.4 and XF 23mm 1.4. But the XT-2 would be better with video no doubt and some improvements in other features.
Those are a couple of great cameras. I've owned and loved both of them. I've owned a lot and some items I miss owning. I miss the X-T1 for sure and I also miss that 35mm 1.4. I will own both of them again one day. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Might be a stupid question, but literally trying to get into photography. What would you choose between the X-T2 and an X-E3? Thanks for the advice and great video.
If price is the same or close I would go with the X-T2 to me it has better ergonomics and feels better to shoot with. The image quality in both are the same but you get a couple bonuses with the X-T2, including: weather sealing, tilting rear screen, dual card slots, ISO dial and 1/8000 max mechanical shutter. But if you see an X-E3 for significantly cheaper then it’s a good choice. They’re both great
Hey Craig, I watched both videos and yes, I could have gotten away with just this one but there was a lot of detail in the first one. Great video! I'm recently fairly handicapped following a massive stroke so I'm looking at alternatives to my old Nikon D7000 and Fujifilm keeps cropping up. Like many other reviewers you concentrate on the sensor and its exceptional colour and B&W rendering capabilities - so are you recommending relying on out-of-the-camera jpeg photos rather than RAW then software editing? That does appeal to me now as I really dislike S/W editing due to the challenge of hands that are very slow and not at all dextrous. Cheers.
WAY better. Much bigger files, manual focus assist (for all those vintage lenses is tons better- the highlighting of edges is far superior to the T-1) Video way better.
I regrettably sold my X-T2 a couple years ago in favor of full frame but today, I bought another one along with the 18-55 and 35 1.4. Back in business with the small kit again. Hauling around a 24-70 f2.8 was getting tiresome. You're right, the camera manufacturers are pushing everyone into video cameras whether they shoot vids or not. Going beyond the X-T2 offers only marginal improvements in still images albeit the more recent film simulations are enticing. I don't don't shoot moving subjects so the AF is fine and carrying an extra battery isn't a big deal.
I have been using a X-100 F for 3 years and love it. Love the B&W shots I can get with this. I do like to have an option for a Tele or zoom lens. Would you recommend I sell the X-100 F (can get about $1100 for it, still) and pick up a X-T2 with additional lens?
Hey, would you recommend still getting the X-T2 or X-T20 for 479€ used? My focus is about 60% video and 40% photo and i don't care about viewfinders. If not i'd go with the ZV-E10 for 479€ user as well.
@highermusic111 I managed to pick up an A6500 for 500€. Since I want to upgrade to full-frame in the next few years, I chose the Sony E-mount and bought a full-frame lens. To be honest, based on your needs, I'd recommend the A6500, A6100 (it can't shoot in log tho, but might be the cheapest of all three), or the ZV-E10 (it can record gyroscope data). Just go with whichever is the cheapest of the three. Spec-wise, the two Fujis might be better, but they lack good lens selection and software support. PS: If you have a little more budget, wait until summer, the ZV-E10 Mark II might be crazy good for its expected price.
Guys im really torn between the X-T2 and the T3 model. I want to delve more into video but stills quality and color are important to me, as well as long exposures and some astrophotography? Does anyone have any more insight as to how these compare?
I can’t speak on the difference in doing long exposures but if video is really important to you than the X-T3 is worth the extra money IMO. The X-T2 shoots quality video but the X-T3 has Eterna and more video codec adjustment options.
@@CraigBergonzoni i actually bought a few x100 cameras in 21 for avg of 250 and i kept one that was like brand new. People were giving them away so i kept buying them. I gave 2 away and sold one recently for 455.
It depens on what your budget is but i would look at the X-T3, X-S10 and X-H1 for budget video. The X-T2 does create solid video as well and would not be a bad choice but those others have more video options.
@@CraigBergonzoni I use the EVF all the time. As a result, the extra 100 pounds is well worth it for me. Also, the broken EVF may suggest the body wasn’t well cared for. Mask On Nurse Marty(Ret)
That’s cool. Is the switch because of body style differences or difference in image sensor & processor? Just curious. Both are great cameras so you can’t go wrong with either
@@CraigBergonzoni I now changed to iit now, sold my X-T2 for 500€ and ordered the X-E2. I did it because the X-T2 was and is in near mint condition and only had 1750 shutters. And that is where the problem for me began because it was just in mint condition, because it was that expensive. I nearly never wanted to go out with it and just use it. Always hang on to it like on a cliff rock. The X-E2 is way less expensive and for me has nearly all I only need. I never needed that much what the X-T2 was capable of. There are probably way more factors that bought into it as well but mostly because it was really expensive, mint condition, etc. but also overkill for me as a little street photographer.
Vs x10? I need to choose. Please help😂. For beginners that is. Also am a multimedia arts students, we touch filming, photography, graphic designs, animations, 3d stuffs etc…
If you have any interest in trying filmmaking along with photography then definitely this over the X10. This shoots solid video along with great stills.
@runi2453 I see. Well the X10 does seem like a fun camera but I do feel they are overpriced right now. They have a different size sensor than the X-Trans sensors. I think the X-T2 is a better value. And produces better images in my opinion. Being able to switch lenses is a big advantage of the X-T2 as well.
I'm sure it can. I assume most modern cameras could but each would have their own advantages and disadvantages. I don't shoot prenup or weddings so I would search up some specific videos about this as I want you to have the best information. Thank you for watching and commenting! I hope it all works out for you.
Before anything else, solve the usual suspect, and clean lens connection on your camera (small golden pins) with cotton and alcohol, while adding care NOT to touch the sensor, course those pins get dirty over time hence the connection between the camera and the lens is lost. Works in 90'sh precent of all errors of that sort...
This was my first fujifilm camera and I regret selling it. Since then i’ve had the x-pro 1 , x-pro 2 , x-t3, x100f, and the X-H1 but I still wish I kept the xt2. I would have been happier and a bit richer keeping and sticking with the X-t2. Now I currently have the pro 2 and the xh1. I’m thinking of selling the xpro2 to pay some bills. Do you think the xh1 can do triple duty as a wildlife (birding specifically), a street photography and a family documentary camera without feeling out of its element with the latter two genres?😊
Oh absolutely the X-H1 can do all of that and excel at it. You might just have to practice a bit with the bird photography part but I know you can get some amazing shots. the X-H1 was my only camera for quite sometime and I used it for anything and everything, from family photos to video projects, to street photography, etc. It's still one of my favorite cameras.
@@CraigBergonzoni Thanks for your reply. It’s hard to part with my beloved X-pro 2 but your answer has reassured me that it’s time to let go 😊. I’m really happy that the Xh1 can be a jack of all trades so letting go of the X-pro 2 shouldn’t be as painful. As of late I’m getting into birding photography and from what hear about the a.f. in the xh1 (and many of the earlier fuji cameras), it can make shooting rapidly moving subjects a bit more challenging. Moreover, using a zoom like the 70-300 with a 1.4 teleconverter can make the a.f. work a little harder. Nevertheless. I will give it the old college try. Thanks again for your time and your videos.
If not i'd go with the ZV-E10 for 479€ user as well.
i forgot to mention the a6500 would be another option.
what did you go with? these are my options and goals right now! 60 percent vid; 40 percent photo
Great photos!
Thank you! Thanks for watching and for your support.
These are going for under $600 in mint shape on ebay. That's crazy good. X-E2& X100s, is almost the same price
Exactly! Used prices on Fujifilm gear is crazy right now.
@@CraigBergonzoni i actually bought a few x100 cameras in 21 for avg of 250 and i kept one that was like brand new. People were giving them away so i kept buying them. I gave 2 away and sold one recently for 455.
Xt2 plus a grip and 3 batteries for 600$, is it a good price? Shouter count is 22436
That’s definitely a good deal
Has it been mentioned that the X-T2 is the last X- series camera made in Japan. Subsequent models are made in China.
and what is the best budget solution for photos and video creation?
It depens on what your budget is but i would look at the X-T3, X-S10 and X-H1 for budget video. The X-T2 does create solid video as well and would not be a bad choice but those others have more video options.
I'm Nikon user, but will look ke to buy my first Fuji camera, is that will be good option? I found for 400£
Or with broken EVF, for 300£ .
Any advice?
Yes. This is a good option. Don’t pay that much for the broken one. Buy the one that works. It’s a great camera.
@@CraigBergonzoni I use the EVF all the time. As a result, the extra 100 pounds is well worth it for me. Also, the broken EVF may suggest the body wasn’t well cared for.

I am thinking to change my X-T2 to a X-E2.
I totally get that. Well that is very exciting about your X-E2! Congrats!! That’s a fantastic camera and a perfect street photography camera.
@@CraigBergonzoni but in photography how do you compare the two?
Just to clarify. Are you talking about the x10 or X-S10?
@@CraigBergonzoni x10. Is it really just “for fun” camera?
@runi2453 I see. Well the X10 does seem like a fun camera but I do feel they are overpriced right now. They have a different size sensor than the X-Trans sensors. I think the X-T2 is a better value. And produces better images in my opinion. Being able to switch lenses is a big advantage of the X-T2 as well.
Is the LCD of the X-t2 easily replaceable...
No.
Price seems too be increasing over the past few years. I got a perfect condition for $560 back in 21
It's gone up and down a bit for sure. It's going to be interesting to see how all of this plays out as more cameras hit the used market.
can this be used for prenup or weddings?
I'm sure it can. I assume most modern cameras could but each would have their own advantages and disadvantages. I don't shoot prenup or weddings so I would search up some specific videos about this as I want you to have the best information. Thank you for watching and commenting! I hope it all works out for you.
@@CraigBergonzoni thank you.
Please how can I fix my xt1 saying lens error 😭😭😭😭
What does the error say? And is it on multiple lenses?
@@CraigBergonzoni yes
@@CraigBergonzoni lens error
Before anything else, solve the usual suspect, and clean lens connection on your camera (small golden pins) with cotton and alcohol, while adding care NOT to touch the sensor, course those pins get dirty over time hence the connection between the camera and the lens is lost. Works in 90'sh precent of all errors of that sort...
@tantolohunayanda definitely try this. Look up some videos oh how or do it if you don’t know how.
Keep them coming please. I truly do enjoy them.
We know, we know.
Oh good! I'm happy you do. ;) Thanks for the support.
Got lucky with 300 dollar deal with this camera haha
Wow!! Fantastic deal! Congrats! Thanks for watching!
