Thanks, its a very creative synth, having some fun with it. check out my latest session with the solar 42F, its a better performance, I had some issue with this session, left reverb fx completely off the right channel. ruclips.net/video/tgyNbSdweO0/видео.html
Wonderful track to demo this awesome synth. Great work Heavycap, really love the repeating sequence and ambience you created here. I can't wait to get hold of a Solar42 - if anyone reading this is in the UK and has one for sale, please get in touch 😇
Thank you, having a lot of fun with it. There is more coming. The fastest way to get one is by ordering directly from Elta Music, all I can say is the build quality is amazing! hope you get one!
hello! this synth is great. I haven't checked the info about it yet because it's the first time I've come across it. huge potential. do you have any information whether I can get it as just a VSTI plugin for the FL studio platform?
Thanks Skinz, will have more coming, checking out the Ambient 0 on your channel, man you have some nice hardware, I just started building my studio/spaceship.
Thanks, will be doing a lot more session for sure. Solar is not cheap but I don't think you would regret it. I was impressed by the quality, I guess its what you get from hand built synths, everything is super strong, no loose knobs or buttons but the best of all its very creative, I feel like its a little mini euro rack. I do work long days in the salt mines to get this.
@@Heavycap Thank you very much for working through them mate I appreciate that a lot and I’m genuinely very happy that you’re enjoying them too! 🙏🏻💎 There’s more to come 😎
@@evenmind-musicHi again. It was novel exciting and pleasing to the ear at first. I put it down for 5 days to finish my Trax in Bitwig for my YT channel. Free to start my first ever jam I managed in my usual style to produce a sound that would only make your nose bleed. I got some back Up from my MPCX and a beat loop in Bitwig and tried again with a slightly better result. The challenge was to move away from polished production and freestyle a jam on video, all new stuff for me. The zoom camera is charging and I will make my first attempt to make a short later on today. I have lots of kit but im a master of none. Its early days I guess. If I have no luck Its gets put under a dust sheet along with the rest of my gear and I retreat back ITB to my beloved Bitwig.... You're coming along In leaps & bounds I see. Well done !
@@West1Think I also started with Bitwig and vst's last year and I do love it. I have some really nice vst synths like Dune 3 and Omnisphere, with such cool sequencers like Stepic I had interesting tracks going quick, however I got so hooked on the synth bug I have to explore everything including analog hardware synths. There is something nice about the physical contact with the synth, I also like the limitations/limited environment you can work in to be creative. I bought so many vst plugins after watching State Azure streams that its harder to start a session with so many options. That Solar you bought is only going to increase in price anyway, but I would say keep at it a bit, it will click. One approach that i did with this session is tunning the voices to VCO A/VCO B, so tune drone 1 to a note on the keyboard, then just work your way up the keyboard/notes to tune drone 2 and so forth, this gave me that 3 chord progression and then I just had that one 16 step sequence. At some point I'm going to do some deep dive videos with examples and pass whatever knowledge i picked up using the Solar. Its all about figuring out workflows.
Nice patch! Deep sounds :) This distortion circuit is such a great addition compared to the Solar42 OG version. Also how do you like the AudioFuse 16rig?
Thanks Jess, they did add some cool new features to the F version, I just got into this and just started building the studio, first audio interface I got was a motu m6, someone suggested it but it must have had a defect because it was constantly crackling and popping, couldn't get a clean audio out of it. I then exchanged it to the EVO 16 which was great but realized it didn't have midi so did one more upgrade to the AduioFuse 16 and its truly a really nice interface, very happy with it. The software and build quality is the best I've seen, what really sold me is that I can send and receive cv data as well, it will work great with my semi modular setup that I want to build.
@@Heavycap Thanks for the feedback. I'd like to upgrade my current mixer/recording setup as well, was shopping around and AudioFuse checks almost all my boxes, for that price at least it's a no brainer, I'm only hesitating with going the RME road instead, but then there's the price tag ... 😅
@@JessFromSquareOne AudioFuse is not cheap but compared to RME which I was also checking out is a big difference. The few people I talked to in the industry didn't think RME is really worth the price tag. One nice offer you get with the AudioFuse 16rig is you get full licenses to all there software/vst fx modules, 12 different vst's
@@Heavycap RME seems to shine when it comes to bigger audio deployments (Dante / MADI etc. lot of scalability) and also they seem to support very stable drivers and for a very long time. That said, I'm not pro enough to justify that luxury :) Good to know about the Arturia software bundle! I'll probably head to an AudioFuse 16 with maybe their ADAT 8 Input extension :) Thanks again!
I'm not sure if my next synth will be a solar 42f or a voltage lab 2... It is really hard to decide.. poly drones it complex folding and sequencing.. any advice?
oh yea, I was looking at the voltage lab 2 as well when making the decision, very cool synth based on the research I did on it. I will at some point for sure get one. however my decision was easy after the research, the voltage lab 2 scared me a little because with that one you really need to know your stuff, I don't think it will even make a sound without patching it. maybe I chickened out for no reason but I think whatever you decided you can't go wrong with either one. I think voltage lab 2 is the most hardcore current synth I've seen!
Yes, this was a completely DAWless session and was only using the solar 42F. no other hardware. I was using the sequencer on the left side of the touch keyboard. So I put the keyboard into TWIN mode and then setup a sequence using the little display in between the 2 keyboards, its actually really functional and easy to use. Also lets you go beyond 5 steps. The solar 42F has 5 sequencers in total, 2x arpeggios, 2x sequencers and the 1x 5/4/3 step physical sequencer. I want to do some tutorial videos at some point and showcase this feature.

no, not at all, still trying to figure this thing out, in terms of the stereo panning section I left everything in the middle and didn't touch it during this session. also I didn't use the dry out single from VCO A or VCO B, I only have the stereo WET out going to my speakers. I'm also still a bit confused as to the filter section, I do see that the solar has Filter L and Filter R, I thought its just sitting at default currently where they are linked, so only Filter L is active, will check into this. @@AKDanMusicMan hey, thanks, I listened with headphones and your right, i hear the reverb on the left and not on the right, I will also use headphones from now on, i hear so much more details then the speakers, what a difference.
