SOLAR 42 is a unique experimental electro-music instrument, an analogue microtonal ambient drone machine. It will inspire you to find a new and spontaneous approach to composing music.
The instrument is oriented for live performances, creating film soundtracks, theatre soundtracks, atmospheric sounds, microtonal and background music. It is an improved version of the older SOLAR 50 model. The instrument was inspired by early electronic musical instruments of the 1920s and 1950s, notably Leo Theremin's «Harmonium» instrument, as well as science fiction film soundtracks.

I completely agree! Oh my god I've seen great demos of this synth but this one... I'm genuinely blown away... I just hope they are still making them in about 1 year from now... because if so I'm getting one! Not just the possibilities with it, but the bare sweet and warm tone of it! oh my god 🤩😍

I have one of these and I totally love it. It looks complicated, but it is actually just genius simple design that is clearly oriented for right and left hand more than some linear thing. A great balance that supports the stream-of-consciousness, improvisational nature of this musical instrument. You are going to need a good ear-- or tuner-- 'cause you'll have to tune a whole lot of voices to really get going with this in all its fullness... And then, that is only the beginning... the Solar 42 is deep and rich with an oh-so-satisfying sound quality.
top of my wish list, reassuring to hear it's not overly complicated to use

Even though I really can't afford one of these, I placed a pre-order for one. If I don't have one to play around on and express myself with, I don't know what I would do with myself! These are simply amazing!

Great sound and improvisation as usually. Watching people play those synths live never gets boring.
Trading a bit of the polyphony of Solar 50 for this multi-timbrality is one of the most overwhelming gift on this one.

This thing is just so pretty sounding. Interestingly, it makes me think about Isao Tomita's more experimental side that he'd weave into his synthesizer renditions of classical music. I can't exactly place what the similarity is, though. But, it makes me truly happy.

@@ELTAmusic Man would that be something! I think they may have some synth stuff on their Terrestials Album and they probably do on their "The Iron Soul of Nothing" album. Typically, they use unreasonably loud guitars with unbelievably long sustain. But they were the first to introduce me to my love of drone in all it's beautiful forms! If you haven't heard them I recommend The Grimm Robe Demos, Void 00, Life Metal and Domkirke. I have a 1000w bass guitar amp that I will be hooking my Solar 42 up to and cranking with as much sub-bass as I can get out of it! I enjoy feeling my drone more than hearing it! 😃

Es espectacular!! Un festival de texturas sonoras que nos transportan a otro lugar muy lejos de cualquier parte. Me impresiona lo potente que es el "Solar 42" y la calidad extraordinaria de este potente sintetizador microtonal analógico. He de decir que, el precio de este instrumento aunque sobradamente justificado, para algunos bolsillos es excesivo. Pero vale la pena la inversión si vas en serio en la composición musical y vas a vivir de ello o tienes recursos para comprarte esta joya. Impresionante!!👌

Curious question since there is no midi how is this staying locked to a scale? Because it looks like the keybed is currently locked to a scale? @eltamusic or anyone who already has this lol
pretty sure it's control voltage but I am not an expert
Keyboard can play different scales you can choose (you also can create yours) and is natively wired to the 2 VCO voices which are V/Oct
This is a Eurorack standard keyboard. It has Gate, Trigger, Volt Octave, Clock and other functions 😎
