"I love the unexpected C demolished chord in the chorus. If I understand these lyrics correctly, I think that chord (Cdim actually) makes the phrase “I hear it happens all the time” even more withering and full of delicious, pitying scorn. A diminished chord employed to diminish."
If you think this sounds like MBV, you oughta listen to Alvvays' original version. It is pure MBV, even though they are far from being copycats. Alvvays would've been 100 times huger if they were around in the early 90s.
@@ramindadmanesh3863 obviously I have heard the original dude lol. I like alvvays. They are making really cool music and getting better with every album release.
@@ramindadmanesh3863 They may have not been a band in the 90s, but the seeds were already planted then, as Molly and Kerri were playing fiddles together when they were kids.
@@kevinrunions8234 I absolutely LOVE the song now; it's one of my favorites on the album. It's unbelievably good and i feel like a moron for not recognizing it immediately.
it's one of those things where this song (both the cover and the original) is perfect, but i don't particularly care about any other alvvays or wilco song:(
i thought this was pretty decent but agter hearing it again and again i really love it. its a song whcih i feel has no fat. like no fat at all. just non stop bliss IMO. ends jsut when it needs to. no lingering. strong first song in an album IMHO@@isaacbone6029

I guess you gotta use that English degree somehow, but no
@mskrc thanks what are your thoughts
Alvvays on top of their game. Sounds good in Jeff's voice. It actually reminds me of "Sometimes" by MBV.

Great cover. Honestly it sounds like a Summerteeth demo.
This was one of the songs i didn't 'get' on Blue Rev. But this cover opened my ears to it.
I love hearing someone have the opposite reaction: This was the song that really 'got me' on Blue Rev! Lovely to hear Jeff do it acoustic.

MORE OF THIS JEFF. More experimental indie folk.
I can't get enough of this cover. Been listening to it almost every day.
Huge fan of this song and I really love your take on it.
not mine, Jeff Tweedy's! :)
@@elementarysherif9409 hey sorry- Jeff did an awesome job.
So good
Nice cover
Feels like a song by the shins and alvvays just covered it 😂
No es el vocalista de wilco
lol no leíste la descripción?

Really? I find this to be one of the weaker tracks on the new record:)

You should check out Alvvays’s new album!! It took me a while to listen to them but I finally got to it and I can confidently say every song is a hit.
