Cars randomly flipping into the air brings back memories of that one kerb at Oran Park in Toca, which used to launch everyone that went over it like a catapult. Nice to see Codemasters have not forgotten their roots.
At 9:09 just look at how the car slingshots around that 90 degree corner at 150 mph, almost as if it were on rails. Astonishing display of realism........
I heard that theres going to be lots of dlc and stuff so im just gonna wait till it all comes out and then get it, hopefully by then i wont be depressed and wishing for death
Nae Nae depression is a debilitating illness. Been there and manage my mental health day by day, some days better than others. Best wishes to you. As for Grid 2019 I’m waiting for a sale. The original Grid was a monster, from what I’ve seen and heard this is a toothless ancestor

exactly wrong my cro-bro Nikola. That's what all modern racing games have become, Forza is itself just a checklist of 1000 events with no reason to continue other than the grind. A story that's engaging compels you to carry on. They need to reduce the length of racing games from 1000 hours to about 50 and just have a good story.
I got in on my pc yesterday, it’s a ton of fun. It is Arcady, but sometimes I don’t feel like playing all my serious sim games. Def recommend in fun factor
I've bought it, the game is really, really good actually. Played both with xbox controller and wheel - both are good. Yes the career mode is lackluster, but overall, I recommend it.
I've played 2 hours on PC and can confirm that you can disable the stupid clean line points messages. Last week I replayed Grid 1, 2 and Autosport and this new Grid is so far clearly better than Grid 2 and Autosport. It doesn't have the surprise and impact of the original Grid, but I'm still pleasantly surprised by how much I'm enjoying it. There's something about Grid 1 that was like a perfect combination of elements nobody will ever be able to do again. But new Grid is still good enough that I'm not disappointed. It reminds me a lot of Dirt 3 in how polished it feels and the easy flow of going into races, back to menu, and into the next race. I've seen many complain about the campaign structure, but IMO this is just the same as every other last-gen Codemasters game. I like it, but I can see how some might have expected more after the F1 games. If you've played a ton of Codemasters racing games like me I think you'll enjoy this.
Grid autosport was prob my favorite, grid 1 was fantastic but i played it before i got huge into racing games, playing this tomorrow morn after work so excited!!
Finally a return to Form. I loved Grid 1, I liked Grid 2. Grid autosport was just okay. While I like sim racers, it takes more time and practice to get good. The semi arcady games allow for a quicker jump in and go.

To me it seems like there is no continuity to how fast it looks like you're going. For the tuner cars it doesn't look like you're going that fast but the speedo reads a very unrealistic 1 million mph and you blast around corners at 150+. On other race disciplines there seems to be a more accurate speed reading. Just from spectating it seems like the tuner cars are the most arcadey of them all.
That is a problem with a lot of games. It seems they want to use the numbers to do the work instead of what you are seeing. Car looks like it's on a Sunday leisure drive, engine is roaring like it's being gutted and speedometer is topping out.
Wow you're right! It's actually much much easier to make up ground on the AI with the assists off. That's a bit strange. You're right about the physics too, they're strange sometimes, the cars move way too fast around corners and when they're sliding. But it's still fun
You would get even better lap times using the (manual) transmission to slow you down through downshifting rather than braking; only using brakes when you overshoot the Entry point to the Apex.
I can kinda already tell how the game reacts and handles by watching the gameplay. If I still played on a controller I think i would absolutely love it. But now that I'm on a wheel I tend to look alot more for realism and good handling. I have always loved grid tho.
Hello, just a quick question. The cars in the races you have to use are stock? Or can you upgrade them like engine, tires, turbo etc? Many thanks best andi
No upgrades in the game, but most of the cars aren't stock. They're "tuned" to be competitive within the given class. However, you can change the liveries
So far im disappointed with how they went about the livery system. You have to unlock livery patterns via leveling up and can only change the colors and can only turn the sponsors on or off. All the menus need to have a sort option to prioritize stuff you have already unlocked. You cant save livery patterns to apply to different cars. Most stuff in the game centers around the leveling system except for the career progression itself so playercard backgrounds & banners, liverys, and team mates. It feels like this system was built with microtransactions in mind but was removed or will be added at a later date. Im honestly baffled as to why they went with this system for progression. The way Career is structured, it probably wouldn't be a sufficient progression system to keep players engaged. I would have preferred the reputation system from GRID 1 for overall progression and free up player choice a bit more instead of locking them behind levels. So far these are my only complaints about this game, everything else is fantastic. A few of these can be changed later but the LVLs are staying unfortunately. Im fine with a LVLing system, just dont like unlockables.
some of this is pretty funny to read. I especially recall that you could move liveries between cars in grid 2. man, i was kinda excited for a decent semi-arcade game (especially since they advertised themselves with GTE cars incl. liveries from the start) that's better than grid 2 (it was ok, but it wasn't that great), but it looked horrible since super gt's first video.
On my ps4 it feels like 720P, the intro video are full of pixels, you have to have a very good pc or ps4 pro for the perfect picture, i see other people complain on the same ting on FB
This “Sim” looks very familiar to racedriver:Grid released back in 2008, I remember racing the chevy lacetti in championships & trying to find the “best” chevy lacetti on the in game market like auto trader 😅 good old days

Awesome video super gt, also weren’t you scheduled to stream GRID, or did I miss it or not uploaded yet. Anyway I have ultimate edition I enjoy it. A I make me think Forzaish and the handling well is grid and different and I have O assists on sliders, Forza 6 curbs aren’t fun lol and wish I had more feeling because sometimes cars react weirdly and will oversteer or understeer but your brain is like hang on I was gentle why did it do that lol. But it is a fun game. Wish career was structured more story Like and O to hero sorta thing. But it’s more GRID and I enjoy it :)
Reece Jones better than the Crew 2 worse than GT Sport. It’s like a mix of the two actually. It’s fun and forgiving until it sends you flying for being too sloppy on the exit. Turn assists off for best experience.
I like racing games that encourage you to drive properly in order to do good. Racing games that try to teach you how utilizing a racing line, braking points, throttle control, proper steering, managing pace etc will make you faster, rather than just hitting the gas pedal as much as possible with no consequences.
I bought the F1 2018 awhile ago and I was overwhelmed with the information and the things I had to manage it so I could finish my first lap. It's too much stuff. When I saw the first video about this game I thought it was a good idea to bring some of the realism down so us filthy casuals enjoy it more.
Not at all James, it’s the most difficult and in my opinion one of the most technical forms of racing. If you have a lobby of Quick drivers that know how to race cleanly you can have some pretty close and exciting racing. If you suck at driving just stick to a game like Grid or something 🤷🏽♂️ There’s a reason why f1 drivers are the best in the world💰
@@freddytorres5714 I think a lot of people would argue that rally drivers are the best. They truly have lightning fast reflexes and complete control of their vehicle. There's way fewer engineers and technologies to help rally divers; pay drivers don't make it.

Hello super gt. Was you playing grid on a standard ps4? If so, how was the framerate? I know it's stated that framerate is 30 fps on standard ps4 but how does it feel ? Any comparison to Driveclub? That was 30 fps and I was quite happy with that. Just some 30 fps games jump up and down constantly and it's really annoying especially in racing games. I bought a wrc game a while ago, think it was wrc6. Anyway the framerate was so terrible that I quit after 1 race. I bloody love racing games but when the framerate constantly fluctuates it's a very unenjoyable experience. I almost pre ordered grid, because I loved the ps3 version. Spent 100s of hours playing but the sense of speed seems lost in new 2019 grid. At top speed in cockpit view seems like ya going on a stroll. I'll prob pick this up when it's cheap. But I was talking about different things on the stream. I like the physics and the way it feels, I said that on the stream. This video specifically talks about the physics and not the career mode or the multiplayer or the lack of content.
@@harrycarter7379 If they listen to the fans, they'll ad it in DLC. I mean the physics are fine and there are some cars that would be alright if given a drift build.
Yeesh, is this a base PS4? I've actually been really excited for this, but this looks kind of... blurry compared to the gameplay I've seen up until this point. Maybe it's running a dynamic resolution? Can you share your opinion on the visuals at all?
I need to buy this, the ambiance looks amazing just like grid 2008, the game world feels alive, most sims/ sim-cade games are extremely boring to look at, there is nothing going on. Its important to me because 90% of the time I play racing games I do hotlapping to beat my own times. It can get really boring on a plain jane track dead environment with absolutely nothing going on other than you driving.
Overall thoughts on the way the game feels: Definitely an arcade game but with hints of sim elements sprinkled in.
Good
- Fun to play
- Easy enough to be approachable
- Enough depth to challenge faster players
- Requires finesse/precision to be really fast
Bad
- Collisions can be very annoying and awkward.
- No real connection/feeling to the ground (floaty)
- Can get tricky to maintain control of the car in some situations
- Kerbs are overly dangerous
Thanks, now I don't have to watch the video
Grid autosport experience for me: Ramming. punted in forza 7 X30000 also look out for the Russians they are especially dirty
Not to mention the lack of content that doesn't justify a full price tag.
Floaty feeling in racing games is a 100% no buy for me.

Riotlight sorry my bad
Its a bit like drive club?
This is a sponsored video... yeah I can tell it is, because Super GT was way more critical about it on yesterdays non sponsored stream.
But I was talking about different things on the stream. I like the physics and the way it feels, I said that on the stream. This video specifically talks about the physics and not the career mode or the multiplayer or the lack of content.
@@Super_GT I get it, Shadow R! I might get it, but I'll wait until the 3rd or 4th update, after the car handling is fixed... 😁
How is this game using a controller?
Did Codemasters tell you what to say in this video? Just curious since this is sponsored after all.
No, I can speak freely.
@@Super_GT Great! Thanks for clarifying.
Is there drift events like the first Grid?
Harry Carter no, no drift at all :/
@@alexanderulv3886 that's gutting. Was my favourite part of the original 😢
@@harrycarter7379 If they listen to the fans, they'll ad it in DLC. I mean the physics are fine and there are some cars that would be alright if given a drift build.
Alexander Ulv they also missing some Mclarens and some GTR’s
Yeesh, is this a base PS4? I've actually been really excited for this, but this looks kind of... blurry compared to the gameplay I've seen up until this point. Maybe it's running a dynamic resolution? Can you share your opinion on the visuals at all?
How was the performance on the PS4? Solid Frame Rate?
Ps4 30 fps, ps4 pro 60fps
Christian Wurm thx I was more wondering if the performance holds up is there like stutters and drops.
@@MrCrow667 Not on the Pro, at least in my experience so far.
It's more like grid autosport than the original grid imo
How can I get a beta?
Powerslide Inc. there is no beta you have to buy the game fully
First Grid were a really fun crash racing game.
Is this going to make iRacing obsolete?
I need to buy this, the ambiance looks amazing just like grid 2008, the game world feels alive, most sims/ sim-cade games are extremely boring to look at, there is nothing going on. Its important to me because 90% of the time I play racing games I do hotlapping to beat my own times. It can get really boring on a plain jane track dead environment with absolutely nothing going on other than you driving.
Is this worth buying ? I loved old grids
Here is it.
Release date :
Let the ramming begin.
GTR Nomad actually some was trying to use me as a wall earlier in the lobby but failed
Can you feel it mr krabs
Is it possible to be fast with mouse and keyboard? Or is it a complete fool's errand?
always possible look at isuckatdriving's channel that chick only drives keyboard and mouse
Does it work with the Logitech wheel?
Yes it does but can not change ffb in game
@@daverandall747 what is ffb?
@@Isaac_Mes Force feedback
Sorry mate for the confusion 😀👍
I want to buy the game but happy to watch you play them. What level are the ai on?
Do you play i racing or is that too serious for the fanbase
This game is 30 fps on consoles?
Hey yo do More f1 pls 🏎🔥
i think the assists are holding you back my man xD
You and jimmy broadbent should battle
I play wreckfest on the steering wheel lmao
I play it with a direct drive wheel. It'll rip your damn arms off.
