I was blown away when you said you realized you were finding yourself not following your own advice. And to admit this shows how much you are growing and maturing in life. No one is perfect at managing bi polar or these meds. I think you are doing a great job and I'm sure Nick is probably helping u too. I think everyone should document videos like this and could go back. I hope whatever you decide to do after school you find success. 😅
Thank you so much for all your kind words ❤ Documenting your life in a journal or with videos or anything that helps you see back to how you were feeling in a certain time - I think is worth it. I hope you are doing well yourself :)
I’ve been in a relationship for 6 months. So far he tells me that I’m perfect. I take my medicine religiously. I’m afraid of anything happening with my bipolar disorder type 1 with psychotic features. I do not want to ruin this relationship he’s the best thing ever. I would never forgive myself if I lose him. What would you advise me to do to keep the relationship strong given my diagnosis?
I think youre already on the right track. You and I are similar in that we fear psychosis in bipolar and we try our best to take our daily meds. The biggest thing in any relationship is communication, making sure he knows what's going on and is willing to help you out even when things get tough. Also, if anything happens and you do something you regret later, take accountability for your actions. There's so many times I hear people say they were manic and shouldn't be held responsible for things they did. No one likes hearing that, so it's best to own up. Anyway, I think you're already more than halfway there just wanting to take care of yourself and doing what it takes to stay stable. I hope everything works out in your relationship, and feel free to watch my videos on bipolar relationships if you haven't already. Be well! ❤
lol we should start a podcast, I think you should take a chance. Your family will always be here, but having your independence is crucial to true happiness. However, yes graduate then do your own thing 🙂
Starting a podcast would be fun! and interesting 🤔 and yes working towards independence is the goal, it's mostly just not beneficial for me to be stressing about not having full independence yet.
@@BipolarGossamer Thanks for the response! I always wonder what role these medications play in all of this being put on at such a young age. Do you have an instagram?
It's definitely not just your bipolar disorder we all get nervous and insecure when we're taking a major step in our lives

My EX had Bi polar and she would give the best advice to others but she was so self destructive to herself

You're very cute. I do have a question, tho. How long have you been on medications if you are at all? From a young age?
I have been on some type of medication for the most part since I was diagnosed around 11 or 12 years old.
