You can eat these green beans right away. They are excellent on a salad with garlic. You can make a stew out of them. And if you store them in the pantry, you can use them for up to a year.

Completed my first mini portion today, and greatly appreciate your post, since you provided the answers to a few question straight away; ingredients parts to parts, lid snug, to then boil, and that I could place on the shelf including the length of approx a year. Sincerest Robin

Would it be possible to use less sugar ? Or none at all ?
I’m not keen on the idea of my fresh organic homegrown veg being so sweet and I’d love to try this. Thanks @@oldfashionedcountrycooking9343
@@mrscpc1918 You can reduce the amount of sugar a little, but the sugar has to be because it is used instead of artificial preservatives. 🙂
Boa tarde muito legal

ferst time green bens whashed and next time cut
It is not needed where I live in unpolluted area. We can eat our food directly from the plant. It is not treated with pesticides or any other poisenous thing. But you are right for most people this is wrong order for washing and cutting.
First of all way too much salt... second of all you don't say which strength vinegar you are using because not all vinegar strengths are available in every country. Your vinegar strength in your country is different than whats available in the USA. Third of all, you need to cover the jars with at least one inch of water. This process is unsafe.
Vinegar is 9%. Green beans made this way are great.
