That's why I don't play this game. The entire combat is one-sided attacking, often ranged. This is almost always a stupid DPS check. In 2024, you expect fencing and the key importance of skill. As for me, the equipment should give them a head start, but not an overwhelming advantage. It’s supposedly stupid that a bard in cloth survives 5 hits from a two-hander in the hands of a barbarian, while the barbarian dies with two or three attacks with a rapier. Good video btw.
Dark and darker has many mechanics that make the game good to learn one of these mechanics is damage negation as the game trades between lethality and consistency many times for all classes mix it up with dodges or even holding a shield on 110% 7/10 times you can catch up with atleast 70 percent of your health
From how i view it from experience Gear is 40% while skill is 60% of what matters because simply put you can have the best gear and don't know how to play you are just going to fall
i have around 300 hours on bard and dude no bard survives 5 hits with a 2handed to the head. if u hit hands its your bad. if its a tank bard with 160 hp you know he will be slower than average. in my opinion barb is at the same spot as bard and even slightly better for solos because you can achieve more with little gear

Yea Sadly survival bow with high movement speed allows for things like that. I have been also seeing people bhoping with survival bow while shooting to not slow down while running away

yes because melee is completely playable when quadruple range shot knocks you back so far with survival.. definitely fun game :) you'd think it might scale off the bow like longbow knocks back more.. but nah its ironmace.
Shielding remains until the shield is all the way back down at their side, or in this case, until the bardiche is back in it's neutral position. There's actually a parry tech to attack right before a hit lands, allowing you to block the incoming attack while simultaneously starting your own swing. It's extremely hard to do but it does work. I think the same thing happened with his bardiche on accident.
This happens with most games, when a game is new the skill ceiling starts low while people don't know shit and as people progressively better it edges out more casual players My suggestion is start new characters if you want to stay lower mmr or just sucide run a few times if you are killing It up and doing well

In Tokyo sever, I meet pro wizard,bard ,handcrossbow rouge,PDR pro long sword fighters. so its hard to play.Moving is too fast.Enemies that are a good match will run away. Enemies that are a bad match will chase me with Ranged Attack. The rest of the battle is a 50-50 battle decided by luck. I'd like change the movement speed difference reduced and more fun close-range combat.
Savage roar does nothing against all this true damage with fast hitting weapons. Theres no room to build dexterity in your kit unless you want to die in 2 hits instead of 3 to a rapier as barbarian. You cant use rage or u die even faster. Cant catch anyone. Iron will dont do shit to stop u from being overwhelmed by a million spells and all he needs to do is land 2 or 3
I really don't know why they insist on having the playstyles that are the least fun to play against (ranger/rogue) be meta, I am befuddled and flabbergasted at the state of the game. I pray for a brighter tomorrow. Mika, vista, julien....
Yea using a mnk and or my normal pen set up hurts my wrists bad. also I am better with my steam controller and shown the success i have with it just simply meta in a bad state for melee
This made me wanna cry, every fight was the same rogue sitting in a corner or a ranger just pelting you with arrows, something NEEDS to be done to destroy this meta. Rats rome free and get away with these dirty play styles.

9:39 does block stay active even if you let go of the button until it resets to neutral?
Not to sure myself but I have noticed that the block remains even when you let go of the block

Sometimes I think the bardiche block hitbox is still active for a certain time frame when you stop blocking it's my only theory why that happens

Half of the time you get killed by desync. The players are getting hits on you from way way out of range! It's been really bad the last few weeks.
