We have 3 lilacs in our yard, the deers love to eat the tender twigs and the leaf and flower buds. Haven’t had any blooms the last 3 springs because the deers devour the new growth in spring. Powdery mildew is an issue here in Atlantic Canada on these shrubs, all shrubs and trees and plants really. Excellent information as always, thank you Kevin. Looking forward to next video.
I have several varieties, Syringa tomentella Kum Bum (no snickering please, lol) is a real beauty with glowing yellow foliage and bight wine pink blooms. I also LOVE 'Nadezhda' with its huge blooms heads and double florets that open a dark mauve and soften as they age.

Lilacs are some of my favourite shrubs! Mine are in full bloom right now. I have common lilacs and dwarf Korean lilacs.
