Loved this show as a kid! I wasn't a fan of Bane, however the new renditions of The Joker, Firefly, Clayface, Mr. Freeze, Ragdoll, Ivy, Riddler, Penguin etc were a warm welcome!
So I haven’t seen this mentioned, but there is a reason why characters like Ra’s, Two-Face, Scarecrow and others weren’t on the show - the Bat-embargo. Apparently people thought we couldn’t handle having multiple versions of Batman and his rogues in movies, and various shows so it was “suggested” to create the “Bat-embargo” - and not allow certain characters to show up in other shows if they were on a different platform. Ra’s, Scarecrow and Two-Face couldn’t be in The Batman because they were going to be in Batman Begins, Robin couldn’t be in The Batman until Teen Titans ended, etc. This was a REALLY stupid idea and I’m glad it was abandoned a while ago.
17:35 Late but, there is a stupid but fair reason why Two Face, Scarecrow, Mad Hatter, Ra Al Ghul never appeared in the show. There was a whole Bat-Embargo going on in 2004 where those characters couldn’t be use because well-they were being used in the Nolan films, not only that was the case with The Batman (2004) but with Justice League Unlimited as well. Tho it was lifted a few years later it still sucks because we were supposed to get a Batman vs Hush movie.
It was the same for me, I had a DVD with Catwoman, Man Bat and Mr. Freeze episodes that my uncle bought for my birthday I think and I watched it many times as well as The Batman vs Dracula movie, but I only managed to watch the full show 5 years ago.
Why is there barely any mention of Alfred? He was a great support character and one that shouldn't be forgotten as he had a decent amount of appearances in the show.
First off, this isn't a "kid's show" like you mentioned multiple times. This is such a stereotype. Kids CAN watch it, but it's not mainly or just for them. It's just as much for adults as it is for kids, which is why they were able to kill off characters like robin's parents. Besides, they killed them offscreen, so it's not that big of a deal. But it was still dark because the show isn't made specifically for kids. This is BATMAN we're talking about. Not some preschool cartoon. I'm a batman fan, but honestly, I've never seen any of the batman cartoons, until I watched THIS! The batman 2004 is an AMAZING series! I enjoyed the hell out of it! 🥹 But when I finished watching it, I thought it felt a bit rushed. I mean, everything was great, and every single episode was enjoyable. But it was until the 5th and last season of the show when I thought it was unfinished. Clearly, there were alot of questions that needed to be answered. Like what happened to yin and ethan? They abandoned them after the new, more iconic batman characters were introduced, and they never even confirmed if ethan ever got cured from clayface. I feel like they were too excited to tell stories with more iconic characters like robin, batgirl, and commissioner gordon. But I'm not complaining too much cuz robin and batgirl were actually my 2 most fav parts of the show! 🤩 but still, there are more things they could've done before ending it. What if there was an episode where gordon found out his daughter was batgirl? That could've been a really interesting episode for the show! But sadly, they decided to end it on the 5th season, only drawing people in with the JL :( I can go on about how great this show is, and everything they could've done with it before it ended.

That’s crazy I had the same dvd and book when I was a kid lol I watched the show now and it’s amazing
I forgot the Riddler looked like Marilyn Manson. Ha. That was such a great design choice.
Yeah better than him spending his times placing his trophies all over Gotham.
Great video man, there arent that many video essays talking about this great show so love to see more people talking about it.
🤟😏And I love too it, f****** so much man, Like U bro!!! 😮❤️👌

This is one of the masterpieces of animation. Even better is 3-D version.😂❤🦇
It's actually my favourite purely Batman show.
Love this series. Great retrospective dude

The best review of BatMaN! 😮❤Man U Dope.... &I WISH GooD Luck 4 Your👌 Future Holmes.👍
Detective Yin was basically Elisa from gargoyles, they had the exact same design, maybe thats why she was written out
Detective Yin was the best unique character to Me, she not trusted BatMan(At least once) & She had a own way.... !! ❤😢
Wait, did she died?
@@sethstrattan7380No, she just disappeared after Season 3.
They wrote her out without proper explanation
@@tonyg7718 man…If they were going to write her out, they should have at least kill her off in a kid friendly way
I got a psyche degree. We’re as easily manipulated as everyone else.
I would even say more easily manipulated.
Wow this video is great, we need these views to get better.
