Microsoft: “Windows 10 is the last version of Windows.”
Everyone on June 15th, 2021: “So that was a fuckin’ lie.”
Lol 😂
I fucking hate recent Microsoft.
Yes it was
@Nlizun epic
If you don't know why than I probably won't be able to successfully explain why.
@@virtualwarp Because you likely lack the vocabulary to do so lol
Microsoft has always been shitty - its not a recent thing. You could explain why you hate "recent" Microsoft as opposed to "historical" Microsoft and specify exactly what timeframe "recent" is.
Its free and allowed to be pirated on purpose so that we don’t go to Linux
haha yeah but that trick didn't work for me. my win7 laptop slowed up real bad, chucked an SSD in it and switched to linux mint about 3 years ago. never looked back. brilliant.
Tried to jump on Linux several times in a row, but eventually returned to Windows anyway - first time it was freezing issues on Lubuntu, second time it was lack of proper Wi-Fi drivers on Xubuntu, third time I gave up on configuring Bluetooth and touchpad sensitivity in Mint (both were borked for some reason). I *want* to love and use a Linux Desktop, but so far its worst enemy is, well, Linux Desktop - even with increasing QoL features, it's still a bunch of jank compared to Windows or macOS.
I wouldn't switch to Linux even if someone paid me to do it. 😂

you also forgot another aspect:
if people are used to one operating system at home, companies are practically bound to use it as well so that their workers can actually work.
training is a thing.
@@DVankeuren yes. But if you have a choice between using a program/OS that everyone know, or to train your workers to use something completely different, the choice is usually pretty clear.
I agree. There are some unscruplous companies out there who conspire with universities and offer free stuff, trainings and other cheap junk to lecturers so that they teach only their software. That way, when students graduate and enter the work force, they'll force their employers to buy that particular software bcs it's the only one they know how to use.
So why am I being forced to use Windwos at work when I have Linux at home?
@@cigmorfil4101 because your boss has windows at home.
And the guy that made the software your company uses.
And they assume that most employees will use Windows, so they write the programms for Windows.
In other words: go work in a technical field with a degree. There you'll use a Unix based system.
When you can earn more by selling user data instead of OS ۔ :)
When you can sell surrounding services and ad space, oh and some user data I guess(mostly for the advertisers to use)...
that's not true, we don't sell users data.
@@DavidSanchez-uq8tp I mean for the advertising there's bound to be some user data exchange, likely anonymized to a degree tho.
You should read terms and conditions before installing new windows 10
@@DavidSanchez-uq8tp I think you don't know how ad sense or ad bids or ad impressions work then... Just because the data is anonymized behind a session id doesn't mean you're not selling users data to provide them with relevant ads. You just don't sell people's Personally Identifiable Information (PII, which is name, e-mail, etc) which may not matter, even with enough non-"PII" people can be identified.
For example if I grab a general Geo-IP Location and a few apps installed such as Razer Synapse to deliver gaming related ads, and ads relevant to stores in that area, if the person lives in a more rural place, it's easier to gather the few people in that area who own Razer Keybaords and tie their session id to a person.

I like some of the transitions, but sometimes they're a bit too much and are seemingly random. Since we use these persistent elements that transition across pages to indicate some kind of relationship between the previous and the next states, some of your transitions confuse me because I can't immediately see what the relationship is.
For example 2:23 of the selectable tiles (which weren't selected) transition into being two switches... does that mean anything? are they related in some way? I see this as random and a bad use of the design language. However, at 1:14 I like the transition from switches to the ticks on a paper, that makes sense to me. Epic presentation tho

From my understanding, the product key is stored somewhere within some portion of the hardware or firmware (BIOS??) after installation it will "recognize" if that computer has been used before and will simply re-activate on its own. I remember when Win10 was first released and there was worry about if you change enough of your hardware you'd have to re-activate the OS and might have a problem because Microsoft would no longer "recognize" your PC and the "updated specs".
Manufactures should recognize the BIOS UUID to do that.

what happened to you to suggest such an evil thing!
I miss Clippy, it was a fun feature!
Been using a unlicensed copy of windows and after 3 hours 10 minutes of uptime the watermark appears so you can just do an advanced shut down and when you boot it resets the uptime which means you wont get the watermark
I'm going to get a wall paper with the windows watermark at work to piss coworkers off.
Jokes on microsoft, I used the registry editor to disable bing and ads in my start menu and uninstalled all their bloatware, spyware, and auto-updates.
Halex yes
What about the spyware?
You could just turn off internet search in the start menu settings without the need for registry editing
teach me
Yeah but Microsoft still got you because you had to use time out of your life to disable this things

Windows 10: You get to have your pc infested with bloat, ads and literal spyware... Now FOR FREE!!
Real Reason: To track people, companies are even willing to make hardware at a loss if it means they can use data and make enough money from software.
Had to scroll plenty for the actual reason.

I like how Linus is in the first ad in this video for me XD
Admittedly before the video even started, I got an ad from Pulseway with Linus on it. Good stuff.

you forgot to mention with the free os upgrades, they remove features and compatibility hoping you rebuy newer versions of office (older versions of outlook no longer function) and upgrade from home to pro (to use folder sharing). they dont seem to understand that settings can be modified in the os to fix the networking and there are free alternatives like Libreoffice, thunderbird etc.. to stop re-buying MS applications.
I haven't used microsoft office in 10 years, I mostly use libre office, but I would like to add the Google office to your list which I believe is currently steam-rolling Microsoft office
