Except it doesn't have baffles in the oil pan. Track on hard corners for a second longer than your oil in the system and you'll spin a bearing junking your engine. For reference the Genesis Coupe had this same exact problem and it was also considered a 'track ready sport coupe', as did the Kia stinger and Veloster N.

The GR86 suffers from oil starvation and other issues on the track, the Gr Corolla's diffs overheat, the Type R has had grinding gears for decades. The WRX (well that's obvious, it's a fcking Subaru lmao.) These are just some examples. Literally, every car in the segment has problems that constantly get glossed over lmao.

don’t forget the mark up to from dealerships. They need they’re profits. They might sell you a bunch of front end discounts, but you’d have to let them know that you’re not tolerating the back end markups that make up for the discounts

fyi, this is all thanks to the head engineer at BMW M leaving for Hyundai. He's the reason N even became a thing. From what I got, BMW M was going in a direction he didn't like so he got an offer from Hyundai and put all the M tech into it? Guess it's a mini beemer now lol
It’s not suddenly lol. It’s been going on since 2018 with the Veloster N and the hype the VN had around it. Every single N car has been good and Hyundai is willing to let smaller reviewers get their hands on it, so of course it’s gonna be reviewed 1000x. This is also the first N car here in the states that’s managed to stay around long enough to get a facelift with some actual underpinning changes. So that also a reason to give the new updated car out to reviewers to get more public notice.

It’s still a Hyundai. Even with the 100k powertrain warranty they will find a way to tell you it’s not going to be replaced. How do I know this? Because my 2022 SUV has been in the shop waiting for an approval for 3 months and I’ve been using an Elantra as a rental….

Can attest, I have the 2023 version of this car (aside from body, internal specs are practically the same) and it’s worth EVERY penny, it’s so much fun!
My sister owned one before getting an SUV. They’re awesome, but I recommend to only race that on streets you know won’t have dips or any 💩 on it. It’s pretty low as track cars should be but yea it was damaged due to a small azz pot hole 90% of cars would’ve taken. Other than that I have no complaints for this car. Just know Hyundai set up the car to max out on sport + mode, other than the max out button on the automatic trans version, you can’t do much to make it quicker. It’s already really good though, just don’t expect ZL1 or GT or Scat speed, but it handles way better than stangs and ZL1 imo.
Loving the design of the new Hyundais recently (especially the Elantra). The lines are so sexy. I never had a Hyundais before, but if they’re somewhat reliable and easy to work on I might consider one for fun if my old 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX ever dies.
Hyundai and Kia both have been making some really fun toys and dope, well built commuter cars. Definitely a lot better than most American companies like Jeep are doing rn
Used to have the hybrid elantra from the 1st year of the new design. Handled surprisingly well despite not being an N. So this car is prolly a ton of fun too.
