  • Whatup!!
Had two amazing noob sessions at Will Rogers with some friends...even though the first session was choppy we managed to have some fun!! The second session was small but it allowed me to get better at popping up on a smaller board and go down the line. I was SO stoked when I finally did, even if it was only for a couple seconds!!
    My setup:
Board: SKIPPER QUAD X JAMIE O'BRIEN PRO 6'6
Camera: GoPro HERO10 Black - Waterproof Action Camera + GoPro Floaty Case + Ho Stevie! Armband Leash
Wetsuit: Billabong Absolute Back Zip 4/3 wetsuit (it's cold ok)
If you're a beginner surfer, or just like watching people have fun in the water, be sure to stick around!!

Thanks for the video mate, all the way from the south coast of the UK. I've been riding a catch surf8ft log and I absolutely love it's amazing but I've just about got the basics of going down the line, I really like board and read its got loads of volume, reckon this is a good step down to process ?

Nice man! I recommend trying a 7 ft. log before sizing down to a 6'6. It took me a long time to get the hang of the 6'6 and I often go back to my 8 ft. board to practice fundamentals.

why do you say it isnt easy? I have a catch surf 8ft log. wanting to transition to a shorter foam board. cant decide between and funboard shape or the skipper. is the skipper difficult to catch waves with?

I’m actually going to make a video about this once I’m done with my 30 day surf challenge videos! The main reasons are because I stepped down too far in size and didn’t have the fundamentals down as well as I thought I did. I had and still have a long way to go, but for my height and weight and experience level, I Would be better off with something at least 7 feet or longer.

@@NONSTOPSURFF Almost all of us are guilty of stepping down before we are ready. I thought I could go from 8' to 6', but I needed to buy a 7' to make the transition. Now, I'm using a 6'6" Skipper, and I'm loving it! For me, it has been a godsend. I'm catching just as many waves, and the board is so much more maneuverable. It's so fun! Good luck with your 30 day challenge. Keep us posted!

@@keno1069 Thank you!! I'm back on the 6'6 Skipper as well and the challenge really helped me progress toward getting comfortable on it. Hope you're having fun!
