West European troops, and others, should replace Ukrainian troops on the Belarusian border, similar to a U.N peacekeeping mission. There isn’t any open conflict between Belarus and Ukraine so it’s not a direct escalation but would free up Ukrainian troops for the hot areas in Ukraine.
NATO rejected the Australian proposal in 2014 for a combined force in Ukraine, which shows the intellectual deficit of Europeans who still haven’t realised what this war is about.

Putting boots on the ground in Ukraine would send a very clear message that Russia will not be allowed any sort of victory in Ukraine. This might well be enough to make most Russians finally lose patience with Putin.
