No, you guys put Vlad right where he should be. Yes, the accident caused his hatred towards Jack and he did a lot of evil things due to him being power hungry and obsessive, but the accident by itself did not cause him to be evil. Remember the episode where Vlad gives Sam and Tucker Ectoacne in order to blackmail Danny into finding a cure, which causes Danny to go to Clockwork for help? In the alternate timeline Danny inadvertently creates where the act of saving Vlad caused Jack to get the Ectoacne, it was revealed that Vlad had manipulated Maddie into believing that Jack had blamed her for the accident and didn’t want to see her again, tried to steer her away from ghost hunting, and killed Jack after Danny told her the truth about Jack and after Jack tells her he still loves her. Vlad is still the same obsessive, manipulative person, accident or no accident.
With evil Danny though he actively attempted to help Danny took him in when his parents died as well but that can easily be erased by you know being the reason why the human version got killed he really can't do good without creating evil
I know there are too many characters that didn't made the cut for your list, but I believe that the time ghost Clockwork was the most neutral character.
I disagree. He very explicitly fought for the good future. He even disobeyed the Observers in allowing Danny to live, claiming Danny's death was unnecessary. You could argue toward the neutral side as he doesn't intervene in events unless absolutely necessary due to the sheer totality of his powers, but then I'd point out that this is because he believes in allowing people and ghosts to act freely and make their own decisions. Remember that he's practically omniscient and knows exactly when he should or shouldn't intervene. I'd argue he may even be the MOST good!
I agree. Future Danny is easily my #1 evil character on the show. There is zero remorse in anything he has done, including as you said, stealing and merging with Vlad's ghost half (making him have the evil and selfishness of Vlad combined with Danny's darkest, emotionally wounded side), murdering his own family, crippling every ghost he's even come across, and laying waste to the entire world. Even Vlad has had his moments of sympathy, and even he hadn't gone as far as killing Jack (although he's tried and wants to, he more so wants to see him suffer to get revenge for ruining his life). Danny suffered so much trauma and sadness at the loss of his family and friends because one mistake he had made, so much that he went to his worst enemy to literally try and take out his humanity to make the pain go away. That means he hated his humanity so much at that point because of the pain that he murdered it, leaving him as a husk that can no longer feel. Zero empathy, zero remorse, but no pain as result. It's so dark, but I love that special. It's so much more satisfying Danny realizing that he doesn't have to become that.
@@jonphillips9487 I know I wouldn't have minded another episode of him. In fact, I read somewhere that stated had the series not ended, Dark Danny would have escaped. I agree. While I wish the show continued a little longer, at least it ended on a high note and didn't feel like dragging on for the sake of continuing the series.
also walker. walker was pretty freaking evil. torturing, enslaving, hunting, decieving, and using ghosts. and nearly killing the residents of amity park and also trying to freaking straight up murder one of his own kind with an electric collar. even skulker was afraid of walker and his tactics and skulker was the equal of a human headhunter.
I got to agree that dark Danny being the most evil character in the series is the best choice, and one of the reasons why I like about the ultimate enemy is because he wasn't just someone off character he literally stole the show if some ways he's a lot like how Thanos in Marvel's infinity war where the moment he shows up he starts wrecking everything and doesn't hesitate even once in destroying someone in his way , with his sinister voice coupled with his terrifying yet calm demeanor the best way I can describe him as a sociopath with nihilistic tendencies he has no conscious which makes in the most scariest character in all of Danny Phantom and the most dangerous.
I don't even believe Thanos was evil. In his mind, he was doing the right thing, sacrificing a lot, even his own daughter, to save the universe. He did not do anything selfish. If anything, he is a more evil version of Sam here, pushing his own agenda on others. His thoughts were twisted, misguided but not evil.
@Sellavin Atoms: I totally agree with you. Dadk Danny is the most evil. But I'd compare him more to a Super Powered Joker then MCU Thanos. He had nothing holding him back. He felt no guilt or Empathy. With Thanos we saw he hated having to kill Gamora to get the Soul Stone. But he could do it. Dan Phantom wouldn't hesitate to slaughter a thousand people to get the Soul Stone. Infact he'd do it with a gleeful smile. He has no Humanity holding him back like Vlad and even the other ghosts had. He was easily ready to murder his friends and family to ensure Danny became him. And he basically won. Had Clockwork not stepped in to save them and rewound time so Danny could change the timeline then Dan would have won.
@@lancelindlelee7256 Oh no, Thanos was evil. He is the embodiment of the narcissistic father that thinks they know best. He mentally and emotionally abused his daughter and killed trillions to satiate his trauma. You're oversimplifying good and evil. Even the most evil person can have kind or benevolent moments. It doesn't make them not evil.
@@Tracker947 Thanos was not a completely evil guy I'd say, but his whole I'm just a messenger/prophet shtick was mostly a front. The moment that the 2014 Thanos learned of his death in the future he completely switched from a hero burdened with carrying out an 'unholy task' to the sociopathic and malicious madman that he truly is. Nevertheless, Thanos does have the capacity to love as in the case of Gamora and acknowledges the pain he causes by his mission, but he is still a wicked man who's deluding himself as a righteous saint.
Can we talk about Spectra though ?? In her first appearance she drained the entire school body of their energy (and has evidence that it wasn't the first time) and her ultimate plan was to straight up murder Jaz to send them into further depression. Her second attempt had them all infected and taken to an abandoned hospital where after completing her goal she was going to leave them to diE HOW IS SHE NOT GET MENTIONED
Yeah, Dark Danny was definitely the most evil. Fun fact, according to the wiki, Vlad was originally going to be a vampire(obviously a reference to Dracula), but Butch didn't want something so occult in the series.
Though in hindsight, Vlad being a half ghost was a better idea because vampires aren't that scary. The worst they can do is bite your neck and even then you'd be immortal whereas Vlad being a half ghost would be a more dangerous opponent for Danny.
@@ztarx7990 there are video essays explaining the controversies surrounding butch Hartman, but simply put, one instance he began a GoFundMe to fund a secret project that turned out to be a beginning his own streaming platform centered around Christian beliefs and values. Many fans felt betrayed by this and made a ruckus by denouncing him for taking advantage of their trust. Another time he contracted an animator to work on a project but when the project fell through and the animator produced an open letter to butch revealing butch had not kept his end of the contract and did not compensate the artist like the contract stated he would.
They did end the show on a good note though. I can appreicate the fact they gave it a good ending instead of milking the hell out of it like other nick shows.
I never noticed till now, but Amity Park being a mass haunting ground is a reference to Amityville, the setting of a horror movie. Damn, Nickelodeon, ain't that subtle. Anyway, in the case of Dark Danny, I like to think of him as an allegory on what might happen if we lose sight of what's right and wrong, as well as the Butterfly Effect, where even a minor action can have far-reaching consequences.
That isn't the only time the Box Ghost is presented as a threat. In Danny's Dark Future, you see an older version of Box Ghost and he actually comes across as menacing.
Fun fact: Danny's identity was revealed to his parents a total of 4 times. -In The Ultimate Enemy, said enemy - Danny and Vlad's ghost halves merged - is asked what he did with Danny, only to mockingly reveal that, well, he _is_ Danny (what's left of him in this timeline, anyway; his human half was apparently gruesomely slain by him). -In the episode where Vlad, Sam, and Tuck are infected with a fatal strain of ecto-acne (the same thing that gave Vlad his powers, but only turning the infected _full_ ghost rather than half), Danny, with Clockwork's help, creates a new timeline where Maddie married Vlad instead of Jack. In an effort to clue his not-parents in on what was happening, he revealed his ghost half to them. He was immediately met with hostility because he doesn't exist in this timeline, but the two come around eventually and help him set things right at the expense of their lives. -In the episode where Freakshow makes his return with the Reality Gauntlet, Danny's identity is revealed to _everyone,_ his parents included. It's here where we hear that Maddie and Jack wouldn't have attacked him if they knew the truth, but understood why Danny couldn't tell them. This massive reveal is undone when Danny erases everyone's minds but those of his friends with said gauntlet. -And, of course, in Phantom Planet, Jack and Maddie find out the hard way when a plane Danny Phantom sent into the Ghost Zone crashes into a mountain. With seemingly no reason to keep the secret anymore and Earth about to be obliterated by a massive asteroid, Jazz reluctantly unveils Danny's identity, causing her parents to _flip. Their. Shit._ Thankfully, Danny turns out to be alright, having convinced the ghosts to return to the human world of their own volition to help save it and regained his powers in the process.
Considering his main weakness was his younger self because he need to perserve his own existence. If young Danny was killed, Dan would no longer exist. Now that they no longer share a life link, the only weakness Dan has is anti-ghost weapons and he has a restistance to them.
And as Butch Hartman drew and described him, if he MERGED with the Fenton thermos to get out of it rather, he’d be kinda like Cyborg from Justice League, and part-machine, part-ghost thus kinda being a Technis version of Dark Danny.
Dani didn't really do anything that bad. In kindred spirits she was following the orders of her "father" who told her he loved her. She was aware that she was unstable like the other clones and believed that Vlad was going to save her from a slow and painful death. She refused to believe Danny's warnings because she didn't want to believe her "father" would let her be killed. When Vlad told her to overshadow Danny, he did it because he no longer needed her and only saw her as a mistake. He basically tried to make her commit suicide and when she realized that she set Danny free and helped him fight Vlad and got him out of trouble with his parents. When she returned she only stole the apples because she was starving and slowly dying. She saved Valerie's life from a collapsing building only to be captured by her. Valerie took Dani to Vlad who nearly killed her for the sake of research, but when Dani saw Valerie helping Danny fight Vlad she realized Valerie wasn't a bad person and she never held a grudge against her. They should have included her in Phantom Planet instead of just a five second cameo. It would've been a chance to further develop her character.

Oh yeah, Dan is the worst and evilest character that this show has and that is why we love him so much. If I were being honest I would put Clockwork as the pen ultimate neutral character. He seems like his only intention is maintaining the timeline. Although we have seen him be more of an ally than an enemy, let us not forget that he actually allowed Danny to experience the trauma of loosing his family, even if it was just for a moment, all the teach him a lesson. And who knows how many more things he allowed to happen for the sake of the timeline? At the same time he also allows good things to occur and shows a level of kindness. That is why I think he is the ultimate neutral character.
He had to be careful himself because of how sensitive the timeline is. You can see that in the end he does want for the best and even if he was a bit rough with Danny he did believe in him and gave him the chance to make things right. Just the smile he would flash showed that he was rooting for Danny.
im surprised ember didnt get more neutral given her backstory lore based on her song “Remember” why she wants everyone to obey her and notice her bc she was left heartbroken and ended up dying in the house fire makes her motives not completely justified but definitely understandable
Honestly I feel like you should have given Ember a few more empathy points. You didn't really go into her backstory. Seriously, look into her song as well as some other info known about her and she probably has the darkest and saddest backstory of all the ghost as its highly likely she committed suicide.
Yeah id say embers origin is the second darkest of the series. I think it’s stated ember was a lonely unpopular kid and once she got stood up on a date, she killed herself. Dark Danny however was just another beast. Danny was indirectly responsible for killing his friends and family by cheating in the CAT. So he goes to Vlad in complete sorrow and misery. He asks to rid himself of human emotions so he no longer has to feel the pain of losing everything he ever loved. So Danny and Vlad split out dannys human/ghost side, and the ghost side then murders the human. Probably in a grotesque fashion of gore. Dark Danny then plunged the world into apocalypse by taking down the entire military and probably killing an insane amount of people. He also has zero remorse or guilt since he ripped out his human side and merged with vlads evil. Dark Danny is literally only evil. Nothing else. I think the fact that Danny Phantom, the good caring super hero who was just sad and scared about his future, was morphed into Dark Danny is super dark and sad.
@@cnsayin8847 But Mandy has stopped many evil plans, such as when the Boogie kidnapped Billy or even when Grim tried to take the soul of Mr, Snnugles etc etc, dude.
danny phantom had some of the darkest episodes, that's why I love it. adult swim should get the rights so they can explore more darker themes like any dark danny plans
I feel like if anyone on the list could be moved it would be Skulker. By Phantom Planet he seemed to be speaking for everyone in the Ghost Zone (probably just an easy character to pick to speak for the whole community because he is the most well known) but he was the one that seemingly got all the ghosts to listen to Danny, and although he vowed to come after Danny another day he showed that he at least has a moral compass of sorts
I think Danny pranking dash is completely normal. Not evil, just giving some payback.Toilet paper in a locker is extremely tame and doesn’t cause any harm.
NO. We have to face the facts: Nickelodeon will never sell the rights to this show to Butch Hartman or anyone. It is honestly for the best that this show died with dignity instead of being dragged out like the Fairly Oddparents. And look at what they've been doing with their shows and movies lately: weird animation, nothing but toilet jokes for three-year-olds, and no charm, character, or intriguing stories. They would totally kill this show's legacy in a heartbeat
BeanBag343 They wouldn’t be dragging it out, just making a few more seasons set in the future. They handled the Invader Zim movie well so there’s no reason to think they would fuck up Danny Phantom, especially if they partnered with Netflix for it
I love Dan Phantom, he's my favorite villain, I also love Clockwork, The Ultimate Enemy was always my favorite set of episodes, Dan was also supposed to make a return later but the series ended up getting canceled before that could happen
How did Penelope Spectra not make it on this list? Her desire to cause depression and negative emotions in others makes her not just evil but groups her in with Dan Phantom as surprisingly dark for a kid's show. I'd put her in the top three evil characters.
To be honest I love that most of the ghosts are chill and aren't evil. Yea a chunk of them are evil but Johnny, kitty, youngblood, Walker, the story ghost are really pretty chill. Like they hang out in the ghost zone and even invite danny to join in on stuff.
@@ItzViolet-yt Danny was a dick to the ghost writer first. And instead of being super duper evil. He taught Danny a valuable lesson. He coudlve been like vlad or the knight and try to kill Danny but he didn't
Although they weren't listed I'd guess that The dragon ghost would be neutral as she only turns into a dragon when angered and wearing the special necklace. One of the most evil ghost characters that should've been one of the top 5 in my opinion should've been the ghost warden. He's got a very cruel and nasty nature when it comes to locking everyone up in the ghost zone prison. He's even locked up Skulker and a few of the other villains at one time just for them to suffer in his clutches. On top of that, he even goes out of the ghost zone just to hunt down Danny to try arresting him, bringing along an army of ghost police that wouldn't take no for an answer.
It's a shame the show never brought back Dark Danny. He was suppose to be boss you fight during the last episode. The thing I like about Dark Danny is that he's ruthless, badass, and a one man army. He doesn't need anyone at all. He doesn't discriminate, he will kill anyone and anything for the sake of creating chaos. In the episode he pissed off everyone. Both on earth and in the ghost world. He's basically a power hungry psychopath that knows what he is doing, and main goal is to achieve world domination. He has no allies, no friends, nothing. I think Dark Danny is quite a unique character. I don't know any other character that is like Dark Danny. A character that fights both the good and bad guys in the show.
I mean if they ever did bring him back, they'd have to ensure Danny is as strong as possible: the ONLY reason he won after all is Dark Danny needed him alive to ensure his existence. At any point he could've killed him off, he was clearly on a level Danny couldn't touch, but that one connection was what held him back: after being trapped and gifted to Clockwork, that one connection is GONE! He will exist no matter what he does now, so a murder spree that has Danny as a target is guaranteed to happen. Plus, Danny unlocked a power it took him 10 years to get before that connection would've been severed: imagine the power boost that would give Dark Danny, all the other powers he could potentially unlock with being gifted that one early.
@@QuickSilverKitsune and thus he needed to return so Danny could erase him permanently as just like The Batman who Laughs there is no way he is going to stay put till he destroys everything just for the fun of it

One of the main reasons i didn't like Season 3 that much. Honestly , in season 1 Control Freaks was a bit underwhelming to wrap up the First Season , Public Enemies was definitely the appropriate final episode , introducing Wulf and with the full scale invasion of Walker on planet Earth and all the great lengths Danny had to go through to keep his identity secret. In the end , without Wulf's sacrifice , Danny would be imprisoned again. That's certainly finale vibes. And what they do , in Season 3 , the storyline with Danny , Walker and Wulf doesn't develop at all.Literally a Walker and Wulf storyline was rhe only absent thing in Season 2. Hartman and Nickelodeon didn't like the show going dark , like really? We have two seasons where Danny Phantom has been an enjoyable show. How much more darker would it get suddenly in Season 3?I mean come on , it doesn't make sense....
A shame Lancer isn't on this list. He's not a major character, but he usually gets a solid chuckle out of me anytime he's onscreen lol. He's pretty moral as well too, and actually becomes more fair and likeable as the series goes on.
Here's for future Good to Evil episode: 1987 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Rugrats CatDog Ed, Edd n Eddy Family Guy Sonic the Hedgehog Bonus: Smash Bros. Ultimate fighters.
Box Ghost being an actual threat in Evil Danny's timeline is the most ironic part of the series. Clock Work, if he was on this list would be neutral but with more of a lean towards good. In his first appearance he tested Danny to make sure he had the resolve to fight and beat his future self. He also was so impressed by Danny's heroics he helped save Danny from the dark future Dark Danny was born from. After that he's been a sort of mentor to Danny in the way he knows what Danny needs to do but instead of giving him the answers has Danny figure out the situation for himself whenever Danny asks for his help
I do agree with Alternate Danny over Vlad. Due to the simple fact Alt Danny was able to succeed his plans so easily and able take Vlad into pieces making him have no hope
Plus he crippled Johnny 13, destroyed Ember's vocal chords, made Box ghost and Damon Gray lose an eye and Box ghost also lost his hand and Damon lost his whole arm, killed human Danny, probably killed Damon when he showed up in Fenton Works in the beginning of the episode, hurt Skulker and Technus so badly Technus had to become Skulker's operating system, and hurt so many other ghosts I'm sure, plus with Sam dead Dora is stuck with Aragon, with Vlad being full human he never made clones of Danny meaning no Danielle
I’ve gotta disagree with Ember placement. Yeah, she’s absolutely a villain, but unlike half of the ghosts, she is merely misunderstood and tries to feel like she is worth something through tie unneeded approval of her fans. I highly suggest reading on her backstory...
I'm still annoyed by commentary that says the accident made Vlad evil when in reality he was still evil in Masters of all Time. I also am annoyed where they say the accident ruined his life. That's a point of view that is erroneous. He could have made changes to this situation no matter how dire using his powers for good instead of evil and realizing Maddie would have never truly loved him or she would have been at his side after the accident. This matter is now moot since I have created my own version of the show and changed his timeline but I feel it needed to be addressed.
I actually disagree with how evil you put Vlad at. He genuinely craves family, but because he's so twisted he goes about it in more and more evil ways, but honestly his end goals just shows how lonely he is
9 characters in this show brought movies to school Danny-Nightmare before Christmas Sam-Prince of Egypt Tucker-Toy Story 3 Jazz-Luca Danni-Cars Skulker-Cocaine Bear Technus-Babylon Johnny 13-Ted Vlad-Borat Dark Danny-The cook the theif his wife and her lover
He was super evil. I'd put him up there with Skulker. He used "the law" as a cover-up for his fascist power-hungry ways. He locked up Danny in his first appearance just for being there, and literally makes up laws on the spot so he can incarcerate people. It was always about control, and his revenge plot to hunt Danny in the human world did more damage maybe than other villain in that he convinced the world Danny was a villain, just to spite him. His relationship with Wulf also shows this isn't a one-time deal - Wulf was a kind loyal ghost who never wanted to hurt anyone, and Walker locked him in a cage and put a shock collar on him. He was a despicable manipulative fascist hiding behind a sense of order. Who ever said cartoons don't teach you about the real world?
@@THEBOY1792-y7x Ha! I think a lot of it goes over your head when you're younger. Back then he just struck me as a generic brand villain with a warden shtick. Um, I would say Vlad’s neutral because Vlad is capable of being remorseful for what he’s done and, all his actions are to be loved. In The Ultimate Enemy, he’s shown to have a tragic side to him.

I largely agree with the list, but come on guys how the Hell are you gonna put Dark Danny on the list & not put Clockwork. He was also a huge part of that episode 😡 Cheaters

That's what makes him an effective bad guy. He's compelling in how evil he is.

Your forgot that she wanted to blame Danny for his sister's death.
Yeah, Dark Danny was definitely the most evil.
Fun fact, according to the wiki, Vlad was originally going to be a vampire(obviously a reference to Dracula), but Butch didn't want something so occult in the series.
I’m just imagining an alternate universe where ghosts are replaced with vampires
A series about ghost and he doesn't want anything occult?
Yet he had ghosts that were once alive in his series with mythology from all over like Pandora's Box seems pretty occult to me
Though in hindsight, Vlad being a half ghost was a better idea because vampires aren't that scary. The worst they can do is bite your neck and even then you'd be immortal whereas Vlad being a half ghost would be a more dangerous opponent for Danny.
@@stephj505 unless being bit makes you a slave to him, wasn't that a big plot point in the original Dracula?

I wish this show had continued. I would’ve loved to see Danny and Sam’s relationship grow overtime.

Danny Is my favorite by far, but Dan...he scares me...I'm a 19 year old female and he STILL scares me
That isn't the only time the Box Ghost is presented as a threat.
For those wanting the names
Masters of All Time is the 2nd one mentioned, Reality Trip is the 3rd one mention
@@justjoannak As one of those wanting the names because I forgot the episode names, many thanks.
And dark Danny can still come back cause he exists outside of time now and is close to breaking out of the Fenton thermos.
Considering his main weakness was his younger self because he need to perserve his own existence. If young Danny was killed, Dan would no longer exist. Now that they no longer share a life link, the only weakness Dan has is anti-ghost weapons and he has a restistance to them.
That's scary.

She does do bad though
That's the same i wanted to write
Honestly I feel like you should have given Ember a few more empathy points. You didn't really go into her backstory.
Seriously, look into her song as well as some other info known about her and she probably has the darkest and saddest backstory of all the ghost as its highly likely she committed suicide.
Whooooooooooooooa.
Damn... Suicide hits too close to home for me.
She wanted the pain to stop yet ending up as a ghost just caused more pain as she watched herself fade from the minds of those around her
true, but her backstory is all conjecture

He did cause dash to bang his face hard on the locker door twice, and made dash stick his head inside water after that.
HEY DIS IS FENTON WIPE
This series DESPERATELY needs a sequel set a few years in the future 😭so much untapped potential with the Infimap and Dark Danny and Danny’s powers

The dragon ghost would be neutral as she only turns into a dragon when angered and wearing the special necklace.
Walker is a really underrated villain imo! He's so evil and relentless, doing most of what he does just because he can and out of spite.
He even wanted to get the humans against Danny phantom by making it look like the mayor was attacked by Danny.
do u mean Dora? de "I WANNA GO TO DE BALL"

I guess that Valerie Gray lives up to her name.

Not to mention he was part Plasmius, but minus the remorse.
I've read it and I felt awful for her.

You guys forgot about Walker!! Was he really that evil? I don't really remember the stuff he did.
