Love the song, but I was so glad when he got the E Streeters back together. I saw this group in concert twice. They simply, other the Roy, could not keep up with the Boss.
Written in 1985, 15 years after CCR was long gone. He's one of the greatest song writers in rock & roll history. Ever been to a major league baseball game? Centerfield?
well....actually it was written 10 years before your date, in 75',and apared for the first time in the same year on john fogerty's second album, calles "John Fogerty", and then, (even before bruce springsteen's debute with this song) Status Quo, with fogerty's permission, recorded their own version of the song and put it on their album "ROCKIN' ALL OVER THE WORLD"
@kkuster1 Fortunately, anybody can be replaced (except that genius guy). We were all saddened by Danny's, then Clarence's deaths. Steve left the band before the Born in the USA tour (1984) and didn't return until 99. Max's son played drums for a dozen shows. Roy and Gary? Tougher, because they are so very familiar with Bruce's songs, but that's what homework and reheasals are about. Ask Nils, who joined in 84. As long as you've got Bruce, you've still got, "The Greatest Show on Earth."
@@yannou568 I realize it is John Fogerty song, but I like the Springsteen version at: ruclips.net/video/5fv4KHHPkZE/видео.html There is also another one on RUclips where Fogerty and The Boss perform the song together. All great performances!
I stand corrected. Fogerty wrote it in 1975, as you indicate. Of course Status Quo had to have his permission and I'm sure he appricated the royalties. What are a couple of songs that they performed and wrote, or are they a cover band? Springsteen covers this and a couple of other Fogerty songs, including Traveling Band and Who'll Stop the Rain, but I'm pretty sure he's written a few of his own.
@@yannou568 Just my opinion, but the Status Quo version is weak. While John Fogerty performs the song great, I also like Springsteen's version, especially another one posted on RUclips.
How can you not like Bruce "The Boss" Springsteen?
You're right. But in the seventies Fogerty brought out Bruce on stage and now Bruce invites Fogerty on his stage. times are changing...
