Hey John Fogerty, when I was a little boy, around the age of 12 or 13, I went over to my friend's house and heard creedence clearwater revival band for the first time. Immediately it happened to me and this music has not let go of me ever since. In 2011 I drove an old bike and a trailer over 7000 km from Vancouver to Alaska and back again. I wanted to find peace with my late father and dedicated this tour to him. What do you think, John Fogerty, what kind of music was I going through my senses on the endless highways ?! Yes sir; Have You Ever Seen The Rain, Someday Never Comes, Lodi and many more of your songs have been a constant companion on my tour to Alaska. When I was driving over the Stewart Cassiar Highway at night because I really wanted to reach the Kinaskan Lake campground, a big grizzly bear suddenly lay 10 meters next to me in the grass and looked after me with interest ... at that moment I was mine Heart slipped in the pants. You can imagine that! I just looked ahead to get ahead and when I finally reached the lake on this full moon night your song came to my mind; long as i can see the light. Please excuse my limited knowledge of english. John Fogerty, I wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and best regards from Germany! Klaus Lüttgen rocktheroads.de
If I'm Conan, I have a hard time keeping it together there. I'd have been crying by the third strum. Instantly one of the all-time great Conan moments.
I saw him live about 4 months ago. When I closed my eyes, I could have sworn it was 1969 again. He sounds that good, still, even better than he does here. No joke. Go see his current tour if you can manage it. You won't regret it.
I love this song, back in school I dated a girl who's last name was Rainwater and I sang this to her and she was mine after that, at least for a few months.
The best thing about being alive today is, even though Creedence broke up a year before I was born, I can still listen and enjoy all the songs from their generation and any other generation I want. Creedence and John are legends not just of their time period but of any era of music. I have always loved this band, even as a small child.
My favorite part is around 39 seconds when Conan is so excited he doesn’t know what to do with his arms. You can tell he loves CCR and this was an great experience for him.
I saw an interview with him. He had some demons and addictions that had taken over his life for a long time . He met a woman that helped him change that. She got him to quit drinking and living in the past. He had a public tv special a few years ago. I sat down to watch a few minutes and before I realized it I had watched the entire two hour show. Every minute was entertaining. A true American legend and Rock n Roll royalty.
I saw CCR with the Sir Douglas Quintet, in about 1969 (?) at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, and it was GREAT. I wore a Nero collared waiter jacket that we bought from the Queen Mary when it ported in Long Beach, and thought I was to cool to be true. There with my parents, who took me, lol. Had some very hip parents, who got into the SoCal music of the times. Was blessed to have seen many bands live during that period (1965-1969), will never forget it. Thanks, Mom and Dad!!!
I love Conan's appreciation for music.... he Always said he didn't want to end the show until he had Bono and Cash on it. You can see how the music captures him, and how he gets lost in it.... Like a kid watching from home 🖤
I'm an old baby boomer. I've always said that John Fogerty has a born to sing rock voice. So did John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Jim Morrison, Paul Rodgers and others. Best rock female singers Chrisie Hyde, Pat Benatar and for sure Janis Joplin. But of all of them the one with the golden voice was Elvis Presley.
This is F*cken AMAZING!!!!!! Nothing but total respect for Creedence Clearwater, not only because their music always meant something but because bands like those don’t come around to often!!!!
Vietnam was the worst war ever. I lost a lot of friends, even though those friends came back, they were never really a part of life anymore, but ccr made it a little better.
No auto tune no studio just an amazing voice that sounds as good now as it did back when this first came out
Too f..king cool. Lucky people in the audience that day
I feel sorry for kids today; we had good ass music back in the day!!!
I think he's one of the most underrated songwriters/guitarists. So many amazing songs. A lot of them are perfect for summer
That guy is a fucking legend...so glad conan got him to sing...listen to the crowd...just amazing
Conan : "This wasn't really planned"
John : *brings out a pick from his pocket*
Eh, showbiz. Funny, though.
I have picks in my pockets at all times lol.
I also always carry a couple picks. Maybe he was hoping it happened.
Pick in wallet is standard issue for all guitarist. You never know when a jam is gonna break out.
He’s a professional legendary guitarist.. of course he had a pick in his pocket!!
Another 60’s legend! Damn I miss hearing that music! The crap out there today simply can’t compete!
I remember hearing that song as a 10 year old in late 1970 👍👍👱🏻♂
CCR never seemed to get the credit of so many. But they so legend
They are in the hall of fame so I guess they beat it!!!
Seriously one of the best song and one of the best artist ever, can't get better than this.
You know its a pro when you hear the first verse on that guitar.
I love Conan's appreciation for music.... he Always said he didn't want to end the show until he had Bono and Cash on it. You can see how the music captures him, and how he gets lost in it.... Like a kid watching from home 🖤
P
I don't think that Cash thing is gonna happen anytime soon tbh. Just a hunch.
what does Bono have to do with music?
I NEVER LIKED HIM! He comes off very CREEPY! (Conan The Librarian)
As a kid my weekends were at my dads house. He played CCR non stop and drank beer. I never had so much fun. I miss you dad RIP x
Not old enough to have seen CCR in concert but have seen John twice in concert. Legend.
When i get old i wanna be like John Fogerty
MY FAVORITE ONE HE SINGS IS WHO'LL STOP THE RAIN. AWESOME PERFORMER.
This is F*cken AMAZING!!!!!! Nothing but total respect for Creedence Clearwater, not only because their music always meant something but because bands like those don’t come around to often!!!!
This man doesn't even know how importan his music is in México since 60's.
The man has still got it. FOGERTY FOREVER!
My God he picks that up, starts playing and singing, and Heaven opens up. That stuff won't ever come back, this level of classic.
No auto tune needed. Wow
A Timeless classic. Thank you for uploading this.
Remember this song, flying in a Bell Huey over the Mekong Delta, a long time ago.
Thank you for your service and sacrifices. Some of us will never forget you. 💖🙏👏👏👏👏 ✌️
Lyn Caho 🇺🇸🙏❤️
That's some memory, God bless man.
Vietnam was the worst war ever. I lost a lot of friends, even though those friends came back, they were never really a part of life anymore, but ccr made it a little better. At least when ccr played and we sang along it felt like old times just for those brief moments. To all the vets, from every war, thank you for your service.
You look like you're in your 40s in the photo...
No auto-tune here just pure voice what a legend
