    I actually came here immediately after placing an order for the YC and CP. Would have been the deal sealer if I'd had any doubts. Excellent demo Xantoné.

    I have the CP and I love it. The only drawback is the toy piano...I think it was a waste to include it as one of the 6 keyboard choices. There is a hidden acoustic grand piano that sounds really nice. To get the grand piano, you place the selector knob between any two instruments while the unit is off, and then boot the CP up; however, if you move on to a different instrument, the keyboard has to be shut down and the whole process done over to get the grand again. I have the CP hooked up midi to my Yamaha MX88. I like the real time controls on the CP. two different delays - analogue and digital ) and reverb. It has a phaser and flanger as well as vibrato. The speed and depth of the effects are controllable. There's also a "drive" knob where you can dial in distortion. It's a nice little unit...especially for the price. Two Rhodes piano, a Whirly, a Clav, the toy piano (ugh ), and a CP80 electric grand.

      The keyboard is so small and light that it's easy to incorporate into just about any keyboard setup.

    The host is great but why is there no top down shot of the actual keyboards? Would have been far more useful.

    ^ Yes! If these were little $150-200 modules, you can bring which ones you need for certain gigs thru your controller and not have to deal with the laptop/interface madness. Course you can bring them as they are now but physically implementing them in the rig is tough.

      not tough. get the midi controller you like, hopefully without a lot going on other than the keys, then use these bad boys

    Inspired: Didn't consider until now that I could use the Reface YC micro-organ to play Bass sounds. Thanks for the idea, definitely gonna use that. BTW: Any suggestions for setting up a Yamaha Reface on a stand for live performance? This is one of the challenges I'm currently facing; they're too small to fit on most standard X-stands. Thanks.

    You need to hire some boomers who actually know how to use cameras and lighting without making viewers nauseated.

    • @BothellPlaysMusic
      @BothellPlaysMusic 4 года назад +4

      no comparable hammond B3 copy is under $800. I picked up my YC from FB marketplace for $300. the CP also is a steal concidering the quality of Rhoads and Wurlitzer are matchless until you start spending $800+
      plugging these into 62/88 key Midi controllers could give you the feel and range you'd be missing out on if you're missing your $8,000 Nord. the real disadvantage is that there's no terrific grand/upright piano sound

      @@garrettbischoff3817 I've owned this keyboard for a few years and I had no idea. had to look it up, as your description left some clarity to be desired.

      IMHO I think they're a great value, and a great medium for creating your own signature sounds on the fly. The biggest challenges are mainly playing the mini-keys and setting them up for live performance, as they're too small to fit on your typical X-type keyboard stand.
