I joined a karate class when I was in my 30s. I was badly overweight, but since I'd been like that most of my life, it didn't interfere with my being able to learn karate. In fact, I used to climb trees like a monkey as a kid, balance on very narrow walkways as an adult, and handle all the positions in a college yoga class (often better than the rest of the class).
So, I was able to perform the katas, punches, blocks, and throws needed for the karate class (I already had arthritis and gout, but that only limited my kicks, and then only on bad days).
I used to take long hikes in forests, could swim better than anyone else in my Navy boot camp unit, climbed Stone Mountain twice (I don't know why, but I didn't trust the cable car), mowed both my grass (tiny lot) and my mother's lawn (half-acre lot), gardened, and rode a bicycle (until my worsening arthritis and gout proved too much to continue these activities, which I miss). I even ran a mile for a junior high school PE class, finishing the run even when the so-called jocks quit after only a half-mile.
So, don't underestimate the power, determination, and stubbornness of fat people to do karate or other physical activities.

Yuto may have joined the karate club so he could lose weight to ask Hasegawa out, but it was nice that he chose to stay with Asuka and the club to help make her dream come true.

I weigh over 300 pounds, but people think I weigh much less because I'm tall and muscular. I wasn't always like this though, I had to find a tough physical job that I love to reforge my body over years of hard work. @@Agent19D fair enough, but it gets harder to get in shape the longer you wait. So please take care of yourself while you can. And you don't have to hate being big to do something about it, be big and strong is what I was alluding to.
@@Wearywastrel You've got a very good point. I was always a big kid, but, because I always had chores taking care of animals, I was strong. Then I got into football in junior high and started working out and got bigger and stronger. After graduation I went into construction and maintained my weight at 245 up into my fifties. But, when my marriage began to come unraveled, I turned into a stress eater. Now I'm over 300, divorced, 66, and trying to lose some of that blubber I gained. It's a real bitch to get the weight off later in life. Especially when you have bad knees, a screwed up shoulder and bad back from a motorcycle wreck in '84. But, I'm determined. It may take a while, but I will get back to being the man I used to be!

I like the idea of the story but not the ending.
Yuto´s decision to lose weight is to get together with a girl he like but this is in the most places bad.
He need a girl like the club leader that like him for what he is and not what figure he has.
The ending is more better if he go out with the leader and turned the popular girl down. It seem she looked only of his body and not more.
the popluar girl never got to talk him, he hid from her, affer he trained he stop being shy but he also grow to have mania love and thus deside to side to traing by his masnter.
Stories like these prove how conditional love is. Nobody loves you for you. Maybe your parents but even still there's always a limit. Don't get into the delusion that people will accept you for you. They won't and they shouldn't. People have standards and respectable ones. Wanting your boyfriend or girlfriend to be fit and not overweight is a good standard to have. You can't get mad if you can't get no girls or if your a girl yourself, any guys to look at you if your unhealthy and look repulsive.

To be honest, I think, a 100 kg male body is not that big. My brother is 100 kg and he looks just fine. But, losing weight is a good thing tho.
Height makes a big difference to how much weight is normal. Also, 100 kg from fat looks nothing like 100 kg from muscle - muscle is a lot more dense than fat. These stories are also written in Japan before being translated to English so 100kg is very high for them.
Depends on you figure tbh, im slightly about 100KG and i dont look good. If youre a large man (both height/weight) you dont notice it that much. If you are on the shorter side (1.74M’ish) you really look like you have a extra belly and chin.

All that happened at the end is that he agreed to go with the captain of the team to go with and eventually become the captain of the team. There was no actual relationship stuff at all, and he missed his chance to go out with Hasegawa. So I'm saying that eventually Hasegawa will be attracted enough to him, to ask him out or something similar to that.

@erugurara8235 I don't consider that a good ending. We didn't see any sort of romance not even with the club member who he chose. That's hella sad. Your telling me, that this mans didn't get no pussy, for potentially the rest of his life due to this, and it's cool as long as he's a fking black belt in whatever arts he's training in??? 😂😂😂 Like nah, fuck that. He could have just said he was sick, gone and had a date, made the girl his girlfriend, hid it for a few weeks so that they don't think it happened the day before, and then the next day after 'being sick' goes back to the class and attends everything regularly, and has a girlfriend who cares for him at the end of the day... That would have been a WHOLE FKING LOT better of an ending.
