Charlotte Lewis might not be the image of perfection to some, but no matter how much mental gymnastics you want to employ, one thing is certain: Roman Polanski raped her. You shouldn’t have to be perfect to ‘qualify’ as a rape victim. People have to stop searching for the "ideal victim". A victim is a victim, and a rapist is a rapist, PERIOD. Please make sure to take the time and watch the whole film as it contains many revelations that you might want to be aware of.
This testimony is the full, uncut version of Charlotte Lewis' previous account about Roman Polanski on our channel. The only things removed were moments of silence.

Exactly. I was raped by one of my husband's professors in the early eighties, and campus police accused me of lying because the guy had Parkinson's, although another graduate student's wife said the prof. grabbed her arm and left bruise marks. The prof. vehemently denied the rape. He admitted he raped me 3 years later, but by then we had moved out of the area and just wanted to leave everything behind.

@@ARNASI97 so many cases of men being falsely accused and their whole life being destroyed because of this???! Are there really????? I am a mental health worker in several hospital emergency departments. Every shift I work I speak with people (men and women) who's lives have been ruined by someone raping them - usually during their childhood. I have spoken to literally thousands of people who live their lives haunted by flashbacks of this trauma and who battle suicidal thoughts on a daily basis. NOT EVEN ONCE have I met a person who feels their life is ruined by a false accusation of rape.

I'm not saying she's lying but lets be honest nobody knows she's telling the truth either. It's still a he said she said story. There's no court case that's going to come out of this because there's no evidence just her anecdote. Of course everyone's aware by now he's piece of shit so I guess it makes no difference whether she's telling the truth or not. However unless you know someone personally and have a fairly good knowledge of their character it's very stupid to make a judgement on it one way or the other. You don't know. You're just a fan of hers so you're going to believe her based on that. This is how a lot of people think about things. Purely emotionally.

Also, there's fear that if you're in the entertainment industry (and you want to keep working in that vicinity) and if you publicly call powerful people out on their bad behavior, you'll in effect, get blacklisted. This is in no small part, why Harvey Weinstein was able to get away with what he was accused of for so long.

I don't even understand why media would even focus on the ridiculous prostitute-accusation, because even if that was true,, she would still be a CHILD and he would still be guilty of RAPE and CHILD ABUSE. So that's a non-argument. It's deliberate victim-shaming. I feel bad for her, God bless her or speaking out.

I'm so sorry this happened to you! But I am so glad that you survived and spoke out again because holding this kind of darkness in destroys the soul! We are living in a different era now in terms of exposing darkness and the collective waking up from their mind controlled slumber about what goes on in the industry! You are believed! I believe you! I worked on a childrens ward in the 1980’s.
Mostly ‘social problems’ rather than madical health issues from babies to teenage.
After witnessing the results of gross abuse of these children, I quickly realised that such abuse occurred through all classes of society, inflicted on children by men and/or women. Instigated to satisfy a sexual desire...... (obviously in an unnatural unacceptable form of gratification).
That was appalling to witness and I will never forget the sadness I felt for these children.
BUT THERE WAS MUCH MORE DEVASTATING A SITUATION TO COME FOR THOSE CHILDREN.....as for this lady when she declared the abuse she had suffered...........
The legal system unfortunately was not on the side of these children (as we see for this lady, Roman Polanski is still unpunished).
Presenting the cases in court for these children, (victims), was a challenge to say the least. The child had to say verbally what abuse they had encountered or demonstrate physically on a specially modified doll that had genitals etc not usually found on toys to enable that. This was a complicit part of the evidence required to get the case to court let alone given a judgement.
The physical scars that were immediately evident on medical examination, the extremely unusual and unexpected social behaviour and psychological problems displayed by the children were not enough unfortunately to get the case to court. (Often the children would not even recognise abuse for what it was and why would they?)
As a result of this, when we had not managed to retrieve the ‘court case required’ verbal or physical demonstration of the abuse from the child, the child was then returned to the environment they were in before their admission to hospital.
An absolute disaster and a dark, dark future for the victims of the abuse.
The point here is that when these issues are discussed, fingers are pointed at the victims or abusers accusingly which may be right or wrong at the time.
But the fact that the legal system is not required to address these issues correctly, the awful situation is allowed to continue.
It has to said and understood that there will always be abusers with or without an adequate legal system, but with an adequate legal system giving these victims a chance to be brought up in a caring environment away from abusers would be the answer.
A legal system that gives provision for victims to be heard and punishment to be given to the abuser.

Thank you for sharing your story.
It is typical of every sphere of victims subjected to sexual abuse. I.m 63 years old and had my son at 38. When he was 4yrs old, unbeknown to me , I found out he was being abused by his biological father. Despite 2.5 years of court ordered trauma abuse therapy, my child was forced to be heavily medicated , see his abuser supervised on a weekly and oftetimes biweekly basis, ,only to be retraumatized and wind up being invalidated on a weekly basis for years.
This was turned into a custody case, I was gag ordered and both my son and I were forced to comply. I am from the USA and this occurred in 1999 and still goes on today.
No criminal charges were ever filed and this case was almost immediately transferred to Family Court where it remained for years, causing untold emotional and financial damage to the both of us.
1in 4 girls and 1 in 5 boys by the age of 15yrs are sexually assaulted, usually by an immediate family member. . If you consider how most cases go unreported and they do nothing, sadly to say it probably is 1 in 2 and 1 in 3!
The biggest industry today is human trafficking, which comes to almost 4 trillion.
It.s everywhere and rampant. Very sick and sad.
There is a code of silence and enablement across the board because of the reality of how evil and pervasive this abomination truly is on every level.
I do not believe that much is different today. There are exceptions in which justice occurs, but considering the reality and the rampant reality of how widespread this abomination is, this hasn't changed much for the victims.
Thank you for sharing this important story.
May you continue to heal ,find peace and joy.

I 100% understand the narcissistic control, the date rape, the brain washing and the vulnerability of a teenager. He groomed her, confused her by blurring her lines of reality. I've been date raped by a neighbour when I was 17 so understand it. Also I understand the way a young girl blames herself and feels like it was her fault because of gas lighting! I understand the way you have to function afterwards because of the working relationship or in my case because he was a neighbour. I understand the shame that goes along with it which is devastating when your adult self looks at it properly. Teenage girls are very susceptible to this kind of manipulation because you naively go into the world and think that you can trust people when in fact many people take advantage of children and young adults!
Regardless of the abuse you got which is sickening, it's good that you came forward. It takes strength and the courage to overcome negative feelings such as shame and guilt and a openness to speak the truth so that awareness can be spread! Paedophiles and rapists operate in the dark, they operate under a level of fake charm and friendliness to take advantage of someone's trust. It's really sick! Violent rapists are easier to differentiate because it's straightforward but with covert rapists, it's really disorientating and confusing! The sickening thing is the way they go on normally afterwards and find their next victim! Never a accept a drink from anyone even a cup of tea or coffee, always make sure you're there to keep tabs on your drink. Never leave your drink lying around anywhere, even if you're just nipping to the toilet. There's lots of covert rapists who use the date rape drugs!

The people who disliked this are Whoopi, Ewan, Kate, Emma, Meryl, and all the other sick and twisted actors that support this piece of garbage, likely because they are just the same. I was molested 23 years ago by my stepfather and am just now coming to terms with it to find healing. I relate so much to Charlotte's story of healing. I, too had a son that changed my mind about men and helped me to heal and finally stand up for what was right. Personally, I am grateful she shared her story. All victims need to share this to spread awareness, as unfair as it is to be hurt yet again by ignorant/evil people. Silence perpetuates the cycle. Using our voices help to break the chains of bondage and perhaps set many free or prevent more from happening. The more that come forward, the harder it is to discredit them all.

Is Roman Polanski the same man/director who was away for “business” when his pregnant wife and her friends were brutally killed in the Charles Manson murders (MK Ultra)? I’m surprised his involvement was never fully investigated! Maybe it was just the times! Now he would be first suspect... but when you have money... stories can be manipulated and covered up in your favor... I was not born then and have no knowledge but whenever I’ve heard this tale I’ve always found it to be too easy to write it off as the sole responsibility of Charles Mansion a labeled “insane” man at the time! He would wait for them in the parking lot after their shift and first try to get them to go with them by simply asking -ok fine- but when they said no he would harass and get angry and keep yelling at them ‘do you know who I am!’ And follow them in his car making demands. They were scared. It was bad. It’s not the end of the world but yeah that’s a guy with a dark side.

No, thank you for bravely speaking up. And take to heart that doing this and speaking about it, you have helped the many like you, who as victims have been victimized by those predators and their shameless supporters. Ka pai 💗

My dear Charlotte. My heart goes out to you. I’m so sorry this happened to you. You were and are still one of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen on the screen. You are brave and strong for speaking out about these heinous acts and you have my full support. I believe you!!

Deepest respect to you Charlotte, for your candor and bravery. Being a lighthouse keeper is often a lonely, windy, bleak task, but that light saves lives. Hitting rocks is never inconsequential. Shifting such experiences into something that expands awareness, affirms truth, and then being prepared to build a lighthouse on the site, one that helps ourselves and others, really is a noble monument and alchemy of such events. That kind of strength is understood entirely by other lighthouse keepers. Blessings and Peace to your heart.

I totally understand your experience with wanting to please your abuser. I understand it, I get it, and it is a very real thing. It’s like you go on automatic pilot . It is really crazy. That’s why I never judge a person experiencing abuse and not leaving. Your make up can’t get you out yet. It takes time and growth into your own self esteem to wake up. And still there’s Doubt in yourself. So glad to hear your voice , thank you for sharing 💗
