- India has scarce and limited public resources, reservations therefore have important social, economic and political implications. The resentment may have increased due to the expansion of reservation policy, which now incorporates backward classes as well. Despite the continuation of reservations for over six decades, discrimination against Dalits is still a part of everyday life.
Some people who support caste-based reservations see it as an instrument for the development and representation of reserved categories.
The National Human Rights Commission report (2004) observed that Dalits have low levels of representation in national universities and colleges.
The Supreme Court has opined twice that there is no fundamental right to reservation. The first occasion was the case of Mukesh Kumar vs The State of Uttarakhand, involving the question of reservation in promotion. The other instance relates to reservation of seats for students in medical courses.
There is a critical need to revise, refine and improve reservation policy in India depending upon its dynamic needs.

One correction....Mahatma Jyotiraoji Phule's some policies ( related to upliftment of backward community ) were carried forward by Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj ji in 20th century.....(and not vice versa ).

reservation, India's most controversial topic that needs to debated very logically, authentic and conscience based approach. that nowadays is a tool for vote bank politics . creamy layer for sc/st - voluntary give up, whether higher class will accept it if suppose creamy layer is given what happened after it, the creamy layered sc' are treated as general in reservation for education and jobs. nice analysis mam
problem with reservation is that the person who have already
benefited from reservation by getting job/college admission there children get
it again. Hence until creamy layer in all the section of reservation is implemented until then
there will no upliftment of ST/SC/Tribal/OBC. There should be a rule , if
you use reservation facility post getting job, your family from then on
can't take reservation. By using this only India will abolish
reservation and the really needed people will get it .
Agreed another alternative is to give reservation to depressed classes on the basis of family income. In this way depressed classes can get direct benefit of reservation and thus income inequality in country will drastically reduce.
@@arpitsemwal5332 u have no idea how many gvt exam i failed to crack just because of cut off on reservation basis ..in sbi bank po i got 50.25 and failed by 1.34 % ....in railway JE ..SAME ....BUT ONCE I APPEARED FOR UPPSC 2019 I GOT 435 IN PRE + MAINS BUT AGAIN BEALCAUSE OF HIGH CUT I WAS LEFT BEHIND ..INFRONT OF MY HOUSE THERE IS A NEIGHBOUR WHO COMES FROM MAURYA CASTE TOOK RESERVATION BECAME PO IN IBPS ..AND HIS BROTHER BECAME JE IN RAILWAY THEY COME FROM DEFENCE BACKGROUND ..THEIR FATHER IS SUB (JCO )IN ORDINARY 😢😢😢😢😢

We must make ourselves competent like Ambedkar (who took help of upper caste hindus) then only we would be respected. Else we would forever be only taking help from govt

No Caste= No caste based reservation. No body talk about caste eradication, Why ? Everyone knows. Discrimination is based on caste. You have not faced does not mean ….. I have never used reservation however faced discrimination. So, there is a need to address the root cause 1st, That is Caste.

Reservation isn't there to change upper caste mentality. It is for increase the social representation of oppressed and that is definitely happening. A historic wrong cannot be corrected in a short period of few decades when the system which supposed to bring the change is plagued by deep rooted corruption.
Mam you are mentioning obc qouta is based on ECONOMIC ground and sc/st on SOCIAL so creamy layer doesn't apply to sc/st
In 2019 union govt brought 10% qouta for generals who are economically backward in which some sociologist and authors questions the validity of EWS qouta on basis that is violates article 15(4)(6) allows state to make arrangements in favour of socially and educationally backwards but then in indira sawhney 1992 SC by makes obc reservations valid
So question is whether economic backward can be criteria as seems in EWS AND OBC qouta so it can be criteria for restraining reservations too for sc/st creamy layer if we take article 15 and its clauses into consideration

Reservation is also known as affarmative action
It is also called as positive discrimination
In Taminadu ,then Madras province ,the Justice party leaders played an important role in the reservation of OBCs in jobs and educational institutions . That is why OBCs are well educated and politically strong in Taminadu .DMK is following the principles of Social justice and equality for all .
@@Nileshpandey0907 well that's not BC hatred rather opposite of what you said. Brahmin monopolized education and manusmriti never led to trickle down education to depressed classes. So yes in historically evidence brahmin led to need to reservation. 👍👍👍

Even if we think critically then ma'am why would someone willingly renounce the benefits of taking seats through reservation, As u mentioned that this matter should not to be brought by govt too & to be left on voluntarily basis but taking present circumstances into consideration then we should bring out such legislation which entitles the reservation only to the left out & not the one who had already been benefitted from the same.

Learnt a lot on the issue of reservations. Now what's going on is a complete anarchy due to competitive quest for extending reservation. This country is now for the reserved ones, not for the deserved ones. All-pervasive reservation has made this country a permanently backward country.
Corruption made this country backward not reservation.

Well,literally everything in hinduism,every major scripture on belief,science,art etc. is written by a brahmin,founding the basis of hinduism,so there is no prblem in calling hinduism as brahminism.
