As a doctor, I have a question…. I don’t have problem in giving reservation for undergraduate course like MBBS, but why would they require reservation for post graduate courses and even jobs after that….
How come, the opponents & proponents for RESERVATION conveniently forget, that the reservation is only till entering the educational institutions, and once entered, he is trained the same way like the unreserved candidates and given the same tests at the Board & Universities and Scored equally with all the candidates. How the quality of the qualified graduate will perform lesser than the unreserved aspirationists? So Reservation is a small edge of boost to those who were deliberately oppressed in every walks of life for more than 2000 years.

Woman's Rights In Veda's “O scholarly woman, the way a river breaks away mightiest of hills and rocks, the scholarly woman destroys myths and hypes through her intellect alone. May we bow to women through our polite words and noble actions.” - Rigveda 6.61.2 “A scholarly woman, the entire life of society depends upon you. You provide us the right knowledge. May you bring knowledge to all segments of society.” - Rigveda 2.41.17 The Atharva Veda, particularly advocates for female empowerment, claiming that women are an integral aspect of society. In regards to knowledge and wisdom, it states: “O woman! Utilize your Vedic intellect in all directions of our home!” - Atharva Veda 14.1.64 The Vedas also place a heavy emphasis on the education of female children. Believing each individual to be equal to the next, Vedic literature not only encourages women and girls to be scholarly, but expresses that it is the duty of each parent to ensure that their daughter is brought up and educated with great effort and care. After all, as the Devi Mahatmya (a religious text expounding upon the glories of the Goddess) states, “All forms of knowledge are aspects of Thee, and all women throughout the world are Thy forms.” If they so desire, the Vedas also permit women to undergo Upanayana, a ceremony that initiates Vedic studies. As a matter of fact, the Vedas mention several female scholars and sages, such as Vac, also known as Ambhrini, Ambani, Romasa and Gargi who had their own Upanayana ceremonies and went on to become experts in Vedic studies. Called brahmavādinis, these figures demonstrate that during the Vedic period, women were not only allowed to pursue higher studies like their male counterparts, but they also received equal attention from their gurus and teachers. In regards to this, the Rig Veda states: “Parents should gift their daughter intellectuality and power of knowledge when she leaves for the husband’s home. They should give her a dowry of knowledge.” - Rig 10.85.7 Women & Wifehood Moreover, the Vedas regard marriage as a union of two equals. No one individual is given more importance over the other. As with Rādha-Krishnā and Sitā-Rāma, which symbolize the teamwork aspect of marriage, the Vedas believe that both husband and wife constitute the griha, or home. In fact, after marriage, the wife is considered to be ardhāngini, meaning other half, or sahadhārmini, meaning her husband’s partner or friend in dharma. The wife also becomes the samrajni, or queen of the household and has an equal share in the performance of religious rites. This understanding can be seen in the following passages: “O wife! Become the queen and manager of everyone in the family of your husband.” - Atharva 14.1.20 “O bride! You shall bring bliss to all and direct our homes towards our purpose of living.” - Atharva 14.1.61 “O wife! I am knowledgeable and you are also knowledgeable. If I am Samved then you are Rigved.” - Atharva 14.2.71 The Vedas further, in regards to equal participation in religious rites, say: “O women! These mantras are given to you equally as to men. May your thoughts, too, be harmonious. May your assemblies be open to all without discrimination. Your mind and consciousness should be harmonious. I give you these mantras equally as to men and give you all and equal powers to absorb the full powers of these mantras.” (Rigveda 10-191-3). The fact that women and men are seen as equals in the eyes of dharma reflects the egalitarian attitude of the Vedas, and how the tradition emphasizes that a spirit of cooperation and appreciation between men and women is what leads to societal progression.
For question 2, Reservation is about representation and not financial upliftment. A rich dalit will still face discrimination in society because of his caste. If not, why don't upper castes readily and happily marry rich Dalits ? Why is there this caste-based arranged marriage market in India? Also, it is a universal truth usually it is the affluent ones from ANY community who can avail facilities that are provided by the society as opposed to a person from a lower "class" from the same "caste". So, why is this outcry only when it happens in the case of dalits. For the topic on merit : When British introduced Civil Service exam in India and opened it for Indians as well, not even one Indian ( = upper caste) could pass the exam and at that time, considering the inherent advantage a Britisher might have as opposed to an Indian, the cut off pass marks was revised and that's how for the first time, Indians were able to get into civil services. Please let me reiterate, these were upper caste , so-called "meritorious" people who couldn't pass the exam back then. Same with Nairs of Kerala, who create an outcry of caste-based reservation now. They have shamelessly forgotten about the Malayali Memorial petition submitted back 1891 so that educated Nairs could get equal opportunity and blamed Brahmins of hogging the public service positions.
There seems like a misinformation by yengde where he says that reserved categories are fighting within their quotas and general within theirs and thr s no interferance.no its not accurate coz a person from reserved category can take a general merit seat if eligible but it doesnt happen other way around.rest of the talk was fine.
That is correct. Infact Ambedkar's system is that in which every caste has reservations as per population and they compete within their own space. But Gandhi opposed this as he believed this divided the country. Now we are stuck in a system which is somewhere in between.
Because general people are not socially or resource wise STRUCTURALLY deprived or oppressed. That's why it is like that. Please try to understand why that scenario is not happening and many posts, seats remain vaccant despite reservations. Btw, I am not a beneficiary of reservations. Also, India is not the only country following reservations.
Money doesnt matter is often said by people who have it enough.. But marks don't matter is always said by losers who get admission at low scores.. because this is the only way they can defend their admission at the ranks which are way below general cut off.

Sir at 20 minutes approx discussion wherein a point has been said that SC ST do not enter into the space of UR, but if you look it more clearly you will find that seats reserved for UR will go to SC if he scores equal to merit and the other SC below that merit who do not find position in merit will now go to there quota seats. In short in UR everybody is allowed to participate along with the benefit of their own share. So that concept of seat reservation of yours is not clarity. Please look into it again
Exactly the same question in my mind...although I agree to most of his arguments this has no clarity in what he has mentioned..if UR people were left to take their share where is the problem..the main worry is what you have pointed out!
What system you are talking about does not exist now or maybe you have heard it incorrectly. Atleast in Central jobs and in Maharashtra students who belong to reserved categories cannot jump into general category even if they have equal merit Or higher merit than general category person Also it is taken for granted that a general category person always have merit higher than reserved category Then comes proportion to population. General category(50%) + 10% economically weaker section comes to 60% which is too much for the population... It is as good as reservations for general category now rather than SC, ST and OBC
@@PurbhiK Dear friend go, try and understand the roster and reservation system based on certain seat allocation in any exam. Suppose an SC candidate score highest numbers in a competition exam then how will you fill his seat. If you properly use and apply your brain and go with the system of filling you will find that the SC candidate who topped will be first allocated UR seat. That is what merit means, which benefits those SC now who were not in the merit of UR but were in the merit of SC. It is as simple as that. most Upper caste people are deliberately ignorant about the question of privilege. They think they succeed because of their hard work while ignoring the role of their upbringing. Most lower castes cant even read english and then they are expected to compete in general quota with convent school passouts.(upper caste hindi people are busy in building hindu rastra for time being). economic based reservation not going to solve the discrimination problem and also i trust the Indian state which is full of upper caste "meritorious" people to be incompetent enough to create a reservation system as flawed as adhaar or gst systems where fake certificates prevail and deserved people will be the biggest losers.

How the quality of the qualified graduate will perform lesser than the unreserved aspirationists?

Woman's Rights In Veda's
“O scholarly woman, the way a river breaks away mightiest of hills and rocks, the scholarly woman destroys myths and hypes through her intellect alone. May we bow to women through our polite words and noble actions.” - Rigveda 6.61.2
“A scholarly woman, the entire life of society depends upon you. You provide us the right knowledge. May you bring knowledge to all segments of society.” - Rigveda 2.41.17
The Atharva Veda, particularly advocates for female empowerment, claiming that women are an integral aspect of society.
In regards to knowledge and wisdom, it states:
“O woman! Utilize your Vedic intellect in all directions of our home!” - Atharva Veda 14.1.64
The Vedas also place a heavy emphasis on the education of female children. Believing each individual to be equal to the next, Vedic literature not only encourages women and girls to be scholarly, but expresses that it is the duty of each parent to ensure that their daughter is brought up and educated with great effort and care. After all, as the Devi Mahatmya (a religious text expounding upon the glories of the Goddess) states, “All forms of knowledge are aspects of Thee, and all women throughout the world are Thy forms.”
If they so desire, the Vedas also permit women to undergo Upanayana, a ceremony that initiates Vedic studies.
In regards to this, the Rig Veda states:
“Parents should gift their daughter intellectuality and power of knowledge when she leaves for the husband’s home. They should give her a dowry of knowledge.” - Rig 10.85.7
Women & Wifehood
Moreover, the Vedas regard marriage as a union of two equals.
This understanding can be seen in the following passages:
“O wife! Become the queen and manager of everyone in the family of your husband.” - Atharva 14.1.20
“O bride! You shall bring bliss to all and direct our homes towards our purpose of living.” - Atharva 14.1.61
“O wife! I am knowledgeable and you are also knowledgeable. If I am Samved then you are Rigved.” - Atharva 14.2.71
The Vedas further, in regards to equal participation in religious rites, say: “O women!
Two wonderful personalities together. What a day 👍

That is correct. Infact Ambedkar's system is that in which every caste has reservations as per population and they compete within their own space. But Gandhi opposed this as he believed this divided the country. Now we are stuck in a system which is somewhere in between.

Atleast in Central jobs and in Maharashtra students who belong to reserved categories cannot jump into general category even if they have equal merit Or higher merit than general category person
Also it is taken for granted that a general category person always have merit higher than reserved category
Then comes proportion to population.
