I come from a tribal community of Bengal. I have completed my education in a boarding school praying in front of vivekananda and Ramakrishna Paramhangsadeva (according to the useful ediot 'a castist school' ). In hostel we lived 7-8 friends in every room based on merit not based on caste or anything else. Almost always each of us were from different community. Forgot about any kind of caste based discrimination we didn't know who belonged to which caste. The word *caste* came to us every years only during govt scholarship. Also there caste means "SC" "ST" "OBC" (which is a modern setup) not like Brahman, Khatriya, Vaishya, Sudra. According to me it's the certificate which divide us in SC, ST , OBC and General.
And yes none of us were from any modern family/society where people detached themselves from social system. We were all from core village where people live with traditional values.
I don't know about history but hope some truly intellectual people will come with historical fact and destroy such kind of west created *useful ediot*.

even today villages exist where different jaati or varnas coexist, doing their own professions, helping each other, rich providing for poor and no one wanting to accumulate etc. In all such villages brahmanas are also among the poor though they are learned in vedas and shastras. Villagers provide food and minimal cloth for them too. Tribes were independent in their forests and mountains for 1000s of years living with nature. No hindu king went converting them or looting them nor did anyone kill them. They lived in harmony exchanging goods

They have made terms. "unchi jaati", "savarn", "bimte" (corruption brahman) and so on. If I wanted to, I could list a thousand slurs. But I know these do not represent the people I have grown up with, who have been hardworking satisfied people and I have also identified them as such, Indians, hindus. Goes to show the academia is untethered to reality. This is no way different for Indian institutes either, IITs have these "savarn-avarn" JBJM people too. They don't exert true influence on society unless they influence its members. The best way to fight their ideology is refining our narratives in our own minds. A sagar manthan in all our minds if you will.

The status seeking Indian will always bow to them. Not the contrary. This can only be reversed when India is economically powerful and endowed like harvard. The big question is, is there one single institute in India, where its degree is a matter of prestige and status to the west? Unless that happens, its a long way ahead.

Taxila is known from references in Indian and Greco-Roman literary sources and from the accounts of two Chinese Buddhist pilgrims, Faxian and Xuanzang. Literally meaning “City of Cut Stone” or “Rock of Taksha,” Takshashila (rendered by Greek writers as Taxila) was founded, according to the Indian epic Ramayana, by Bharata, younger brother of Rama, an incarnation of the Hindu god Vishnu. TakshaShila considered the ancient world’s first international university (c. approx. 400-500 BCE to 550 CE].
The city was named for Bharata’s son Taksha, its first ruler. The great Indian epic Mahabharata was, according to tradition, first recited at Taxila at the great snake sacrifice of King Janamejaya, one of the heroes of the story. Buddhist literature, especially the Jatakas, mentions it as the capital of the kingdom of Gandhara and as a great centre of learning. Gandhara is also mentioned as a satrapy, or province, in the inscriptions of the Achaemenian (Persian) king Darius I in the 5th century BCE. Taxila, as the capital of Gandhara, was evidently under Achaemenian rule for more than a century. When Alexander the Great invaded India in 326 BCE, Ambhi (Omphis), the ruler of Taxila, surrendered the city and placed his resources at Alexander’s disposal. Greek historians accompanying the Macedonian conqueror described Taxila as “wealthy, prosperous, and well governed.”
Within a decade after Alexander’s death, Taxila was absorbed into the Mauryan empire founded by Chandragupta, under whom it became a provincial capital. However, this was only an interlude in the history of Taxila’s subjection to conquerors from the west. After three generations of Mauryan rule, the city was annexed by the Indo-Greek kingdom of Bactria. It remained under the Indo-Greeks until the early 1st century BCE. They were followed by the Shakas, or Scythians, from Central Asia, and by the Parthians, whose rule lasted until the latter half of the 1st century CE
At the time, TakshaShila was described as the wealthiest city in India. The campus attracted students from faraway places like China, Arabia, Egypt, Syria, Babylonia and Greece. It is believed that students started their studies at Takshashila at around age 16, after they had completed their primary education at home, and secondary education in the Ashrams. Education was considered sacred; an ancient Sanskrit quote says “स्वगृहे पूज्यते मूर्खः स्वग्रामे पूज्यते प्रभुः। स्वदेशे पूज्यते राजा विद्वान्सर्वत्र पूज्यते॥” (A fool is worshiped at his home. A chief is worshiped in his town. A king is worshiped in his kingdom. A knowledgeable person is worshipped everywhere). Education was accordingly undeniable to even the poorest students. Admissions were based on merit and financial support was often provided by the community or through work-study arrangements.
The university accommodated a student body that numbered upwards of 10,000 with two out of three applicants rejected. The campus had 300 lecture halls plus laboratories, an observatory and a huge library that spanned 3 buildings. The university thrived for approximately 9 to 10 centuries, with a resurgence under the rule of King Kanishka, until its destruction in the 6th century CE.
During its time TakshaShila attained recognition as an important center of learning for Vedic and Buddhist studies, as well as for mastering various arts and sciences. Nearly 2,000 master-teachers taught an array of at least 68 topics at the ancient university. Courses covered the fields of science, mathematics, medicine, politics, warfare, astrology, astronomy, music, dance, religion, vedas, grammar, agriculture, surgery, commerce, futurology, and philosophy. Among the more curious subjects were the art of discovering hidden treasure, decrypting encrypted messages, the Vedas and the Eighteen Arts, archery, hunting, and elephant lore. TakshaShila University was specialized in the study of medicine, as it was a place in which Ayurvedic medicine and surgery could be studied for up to seven years before graduation.
The process of teaching was very thorough. Until a unit was mastered completely, the student was not allowed to proceed to the next. The curriculum for any given subject was considered complete when the teacher was satisfied with the student’s level of achievement. True knowledge, not examinations, was considered essential to complete one’s studies. It was understood that knowledge was its own reward. Thus, no convocations were held upon completion, and no written degrees were awarded.
Remarkably, no external authorities like kings or local leaders sought control over the curriculum at TakshaShila. In fact, in most cases, the schools were located within the teachers’ private houses. With complete autonomy in their work, teachers had the freedom to teach who and what they liked, without conforming to a centralized syllabus or doctrine. With each master teacher able to form his own institution, a variety of paradigms and perspectives could be heard. In exchange for their knowledge, the teachers were exempted from taxes, and they were given generous sums of money during various sacrifices and rituals throughout the year.
Charaka, the famous ancient Ayurvedic physician was an alumnus of TakshaShila. He simplified an older Ayurvedic work called Agnivesha Samhita into the Charaka Samhita and also incorporated his research into the region’s flora and fauna. He is ascribed the famous quote “A physician who fails to enter the body of a patient with the lamp of knowledge and understanding can never treat diseases.” Jivaka, the great physician to Gautama Buddha and an expert in pulse reading studied Ayurveda in TakshaShila University for seven years. He specialized in panchakarma, marma and surgery. He cured the Buddha’s nadi vran, worked with the great classic beauty Amrapali to retain her youthful countenance via many amazing operations on her using marma points and surgical procedures, and invented a cure for filariasis. Panini, the famous Sanskrit grammarian and author of Ashtadhyayi, to whom Professor Noam Chomsky attributes the origin of linguistics, was also a product of TakshaShila. Chandragupta Maurya, the founder of the Maurya Empire, was another famous alumnus of TakshaShila. Chanakya (a.k.a. Kautilya, Vishnugupta), the prime minister of the Mauryan Empire and mentor to Chandragupta Maurya (and the third most famous management consultant in India after Krishna and Shakuni) is believed to have composed the Arthashastra (which consists of 15 books) while studying at TakshaShila circa 300 BCE. This work was deemed by social and economic historian Max Weber as one of the greatest political statecraft books of the ancient world, covering the topics of economic policies, state intelligence systems, administrative skills, military strategy, political duties and statecraft. TakshaShila University’s famous researchers and teachers also include Vishnu Sharma, the author of the great book that teaches the art of political science in the form of simple beautiful stories called the Pancha Tantra, Jotipala, commander-in-chief of Banaras, with great proficiency in archery and military science and Prasenajit, the enlightened ruler of Kosala.
TakshaShila was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1980 and is located near Rawalpindi in modern-day Pakistan

I am an Indian Hindu and if you read the scriptures they describe the history much better than the western text and research. You can search in internet and refer to any Hindu almanac which exactly predicts eclipses, auspicious dates and rainfall predictions. Three years back almost all almanacs predicted excess rainfall in India in year 2022, at total variance to metrological forecast. They were not only accurate. They also predicted the Pakistani floods in advance and damages. Casteism is a tool of British and Moghuls did not use that much, to rule India with miniscule British force. Almost all the politicians towed their line. Politicians who wanted to bring unity were silenced. Therefore all political leaders of India who are popular, irrespective of their party affiliation were racial to the root. They will use any opportunistic agenda that works with least effort. It has nothing to do with the ground situation. They will provide their own historical narrative for youth. They are worse than Hitler

When he said people ('tribes' as he calls them) converted to buddhism were termed untouchables, I called it. The fact that he did not know buddhism was the prestige pantha of India for a freaking long time, and that it had successive backing and institutional support from the elites (brahminical patriarchs they call'em), a lot of recorded "converts" to buddhism were brahmanas, made all his other 'knowledge' lose credibility. The varna system got corrupted not because of 'karma' theory but against it. Because 'caste system' terms certain 'karmas' as less meritorious (read impure) than others and that is entirely against karma-yog. Because all work is sacred when done with satvik thought. Caste system flies in the face of basic hindu philosophies, which means it is either a corruption or a foreign reaction.

Which book said, Brahmins created casteism? Don't create stories!
It is kingdoms and rulers assigned specific jobs to specific set of people. Brahmins are one such community under the kingdom like another community.
The rulers are basically called Warriors or Shatriyars.
In those days, as today you don't have modern tools, machines or mindsets, each citizen should obey the Kingdom's rules including Brahmin or for that matter any group. So it's obvious it was only a practice, and continuation of the way of living since kingdoms and rulers exists.
This practice has become more dense and denser, even after the kingdoms rule left and British/French took over. It is basically the human mindset and pshycology that you can't change such practices overnight.
It is not Brahmins at fault, it is the entire Human community in India is responsible.
So wake up and don't go by cooked up theories
      Take abhramic religions:
Even they have groupism strongly than in India, Does that mean even there Brahmin's created!
As I said it is the kingdom and rulers in those days, and under which faith they want their kingdom to be ruled and so their citizen too.
Clearly kingdoms and rulers always have their set of people to consult, devise such rules, where clearly Brahmins, Kshtriyars, and all communities head would participate. But finally it is all the rulers decision.

@bharath M. "Brahmins are the ones comes with the idea of caste 1000 years ago.". Lord Shri Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, says in the 5,000 years old Bhagavad-gita that He Himself created the 4 Varnas (which you have termed as Caste), based on guna and karma. Guna means qualification and karma means work. Lord Shri Krishna did not say that He created the 4 Varnas based on janma (birth). He did not say janma-karma ; He said guna-karma. This is so wrong because law of karma is at the centre of all dharmic religions including buddhism. He also says that buddhism was attacked in Bharat which is devoid of any proof. You def are a guru.. Looking at this today my heart weeps as to what the future generations will have to endure.. Let faith survive all attacks.. When jarasandhas right hand man was sent to kamsa to dismantle gokul.. He said.. "They cannot be broken because of their faith. Give them freedom, vyasana-kaam vaasana and drugs, brainwash them that no saviour is coming.. Only then can you control them completely.. Only then can you dismantle their families. Let there be only adharma and they will not wait for krishna any more. This is kaliyug and people like yengde are the jarasandhas of today.

Arguments are given in a debate not on narratives. You don't give arguments that light permeates the day. Either you see it or one is blind and/ or the worst is, consciously labelling it dark.

Mr. Rajiv what you have to say about it... Is the cast system in Hinduism good or bad?

    • @madanagopal4736
      @madanagopal4736 2 года назад

@Hokka Holdaar. "Is the caste system .... good or bad?" Lord Shri Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, says in Bhagavad-gita 4:13, that He Himself created the 4 Varnas (which you call the 4 Castes), based on guna-karma. Guna means qualification, and karma means work. The 4 Varnas are : intellectuals/priests , administrators/warriors , traders/farmers , workers/craftsmen. These 4 Varnas are found throughout the whole world, irrespective of what religion one practices. Lord Shri Krishna did not say that the 4 Varnas is based on janma (birth-right).
